- "…ongoing Imperial operations targeting another dozen worlds. Burnin Konn, Cadovant, [sic] Abednedo, and Commenor among them. Some of these appear to be solely punitive on the part of the Empire, though the purpose of many others is far less clear."
- ―Admiral Gial Ackbar
After the Battle of Endor, the planet Abednedo was attacked by the Galactic Empire with a climate disruption array[1] as part of Operation: Cinder. The planet was able to barely escape destruction due to local resistance and a New Republic special forces team.[2]
As a result of the attack, many Abednedo supported the New Republic and Resistance.[1]

- ↑ Abednedo in the Databank (backup link) establishes that the attack on Abednedo as part of Operation: Cinder occurs after the Battle of Endor, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY. Alphabet Squadron also establishes that the attack on Abednedo occurs before the mission to Abednedo, which takes place within several weeks after Yrica Quell leaves Traitor's Remorse, where she had been held for one month, following her defection during the destruction of Nacronis two weeks after the Battle of Endor. The attack on Abednedo must therefore have occurred in 4 ABY.
