Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[3] Melton and Bevelyn, Crimson Dawn double agents who worked aboard the Galactic Empire's second Death Star, undertook a mission to inform the Alliance to Restore the Republic about the construction of the second Death Star after they were activated by Lady Qi'ra,[2] who instructed them to cause chaos for the Empire by revealing the Death Star's existence.[4]
The mission was ultimately a success, as rebel Jedi Luke Skywalker rescued the family from the galactic capital of Coruscant. On the way back to the rebel fleet, the two agents informed Skywalker of the Death Star, who then informed rebel Chancellor Mon Mothma, Admiral Gial Ackbar, and General Hera Syndulla of the station's existence.[1]
