Incidental 41,[1] also known as one of the fish at snack bar (along with the other fish at snack bar), Incidental 41BABY, the bus driver, BusinessFish 41, Incidental FG4, and RobotInc 1, is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants." He is likely classified as a hotdog-type incidental.
Description[]
He is a yellow-tan fish with a dark-yellow front, light green arms and legs, light lavender lips, and a dark lavender dorsal fin who wears faded light blue shorts. In his older appearances, he had stumpier proportions, oval-shaped eyes, and a rectangular detail with a button on his shorts.
Fish at snack bar[]
The debut variant of Incidental 41. His appearance is based on his old design variant with the differences being his lack of his dark-yellow front and that he has two gills on his sides instead of one.
Incidental 41BABY[]
He is a baby fish with larger eyes that has eyelashes. He also wears a diaper.
Bus driver[]
He wears a deep green bus driver's hat with a black front brim. He also wears a light blue name tag.
BusinessFish 41/Incidental FG4[]
He wears a dark gray suit over a light pink dress shirt with a purple necktie.
RobotInc 1[]
He is a robot clone of Incidental 41 that is colored bright gray with dark gray lips and fins. He also has his light blue shorts and has wheels for feet. His pupils are also red and rectangular.
Names[]
Incidental 41 has been given ten one time generic names throughout the franchise:
- In the video game Employee of the Month, one greatly redesigned 3D video game model of the bus driver is named Marty while another greatly redesigned 3D video game model of the bus driver is named Loyd Sanchez.
- In "Missing Identity," a suit wearing Incidental 41 is called Peterson.
- In SpongeBob SquarePants Trading Card Game, he is named Percy.
- In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, a slightly redesigned Incidental 41 is named Phil.
- In "Skill Crane," a redesigned businessman Incidental 41 is named R.A. PennyPincher.
- In "Plankton's Regular," he is named Nat.
- In "Big Sister Sam," a western wearing Incidental 41 is named Tuck.
- In the April 2012 issue of SpongeBob Schwammkopf magazine, he is named Gary Greenfish.

Role in series[]
Incidental 41 seems to be the most commonly used incidental character in the series. He appears to be the incidental character with the most major and speaking roles in the main series making at least one major or speaking role in almost every episode he appears in. He also commonly appears as the "bus driver" throughout the series where he would always be portrayed as a bus driver, hence his name. He even has a "BABY" suffix variant that makes a few appearances throughout the series as well. He can commonly be seen alongside Incidental 42 in many episodes and he makes his most notable appearance yet in the episode "Plankton's Regular" as a regular Chum Bucket customer named Nat. He was firstly designed to be a Snack Bar customer with Incidental 42 where the two of them were known as the two "fish at snack bar." The model number "41" was originally given to a different incidental until it was later reassigned to him.

He appears at snack bar as one of the two fish at snack bar along with Incidental 42 where SpongeBob tells them about his ripped pants, much to their annoyance.

He is seen receiving "free" Krabby Patties after the Krusty Krab explodes and Krabby Patties come raining down.
"Rock Bottom"[]
He is seen as the bus driver when SpongeBob and Patrick accidentally board the wrong bus and SpongeBob constantly hits him with his glove balloon by accident, angering him. He later abandons SpongeBob and Patrick at Rock Bottom.
"Walking Small"[]
When Plankton is speaking through his megaphone, Incidental 8 asks him if he hears anything and Incidental 41 shakes his head no. He is later seen angrily leaving the beach after SpongeBob finishes waving the sandy towel at the beachgoers. He also appears as one of the kite flyers and he receives a hotdog from SpongeBob's tongue, as well as being one of the beachgoers that plays volleyball using SpongeBob at the end of the episode.

He orders two large fries and a Jumbo Krabby Patty from SpongeBob. SpongeBob then tells Incidental 41 to turn around because he saw something, which causes SpongeBob to turn around with a smiley face on him back. Incidental 41 then turns back around and questions where SpongeBob went and SpongeBob turns around and tells him "April Fools." Incidental 41 then laughs at SpongeBob's prank and tells him it was pretty good.

He is part of the audience who spits King Neptune's Pattie’s.

He becomes surprised when Mr. Krabs bursts through the front doors at the beginning of the episode.
"Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II"[]
He was featured in a deleted scene alongside Incidental 49 as one of the two judges that claim SpongeBob's Krabby Patty mannequins of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy as the first winner of the contest and they then grab a piece of the mannequins and eat them. This role was also originally meant for Incidental 42 as well.

He is seen in the bathroom at Reef Cinema with Incidental 31 and Incidental 30 and Patrick walks up to the three of them asking if they want to hear a bathroom joke. They then smell Patrick's bad breath and leave.

He is seen at the Krusty Krab and making fun of Patrick for using a broom incorrectly asking him if he just blew in from "Stupidtown." He is also featured in a deleted scene as a hillbilly couple with Incidental 47 where she watches SpongeBob and Patrick running to the Krusty Krab and sobbingly asks her husband why he can't be more like them, to which he replies with a burp.

An alternate universe version of him is seen at the Krusty Krab receiving two Krabby Patties from Alternate-Universe SpongeBob. Plankton tries to take his patties, but SpongeBob said that they belong to the customer. Angered by this, Plankton then threatens to harm the customer until SpongeBob points at him, signaling to stop. He later complains to Plankton about Alternate-Universe Squidward's horrific attempt at cooking. He is lastly seen doing the victory screech.

He tells Patrick to put his gut away because there are children at the beach. He is also one of Incidental 14's friends that happily lift SpongeBob into the air. He then appears taking one of the drinks off of SpongeBob's drink barbell while he is lifting it, which causes SpongeBob to fall to the side.

He is given the bowl of onions by Squidward, causing him to cry.

He is seen as the wedding announcer in Squidward's fantasy.

SpongeBob later asks him for the time and he does so but then gets frightened thinking SpongeBob is a ghost due to being invisible. After he flees, his eyes become sentient and drive away on a Boatmobile. He lastly appears near the end of the episode cheering at the Krusty Krab while seeing a naked SpongeBob and Patrick.

He appears as an entrepreneur at the start of the episode when he comes to the Krusty Krab to give the skill crane to Mr. Krabs.

Mr. Krabs collects a dollar from him during the "Feeling of Greed." He later appears at the Krabby O'Monday's with Incidental 42 where they get disgusted about finding out the Krabby Patties are made of garbage.

He pulls Pearl as the invisible boatmobile with Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy riding her up a mountain where he struggles to do so due to her heavy weight. He then fails to make it to the top and instead sends the four of them rolling down the mountain.

He and Incidental 12 glare at Squidward for pretending to be a zombie and Squidward then asks him what he would like to order when he goes behind the register.

He makes fun of SpongeBob's wig with Incidental 106 and later trips him at the Reef Cinema. He lastly appears as an employee at the Reef Cinema where Incidental 42 tells him that he told him the movie was terrible after they see an angry mob chase SpongeBob and Sandy out of the theater.

He first is seen biting into an ick-infected Krabby Patty with Incidental 63 and later tries to get Gary the Snail to clean the ick off of him first until Incidental 63 tells him it should be ladies first.

He is first seen outside the Krusty Krab with Incidental 106 where they hear Patrick yell loudly that he wants to be a spy. He then appears as an employee at Guppies R Us where he tells Plankton that the particular baby clothing he wanted doesn't come any smaller than the one he has. He later appears at the Krusty Krab with Incidental 48, where he claims that he hates the original version of the song that Plankton played in order to get the customers to leave the Krusty Krab.

He asks if SpongeBob is hurt when he sees Squidward doing ballet from inside SpongeBob during the show.

He first appears at the Krusty Krab near the beginning where he is about to order something from Squidward until all the order tickets stuffing the window explode all over his face. He later appears in the SpongeBob themed train with Incidental 47 where he claims that he didn't pay to watch an exhausted SpongeBob take a nap, he and Incidental 47 then start an angry mob against him but SpongeBob manages to escape them. He is then seen as one of the customers who were poisoned by Spongy Patties and two poisoned Incidental 41s also appear in the jury that find Mr. Krabs guilty.

He appears as a pilot flying a plane with Incidental 42, where the two of them retreat from the plane in order to avoid hearing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Patrick Star." He also is seen as a cotton candy salesman where he tries to sell cotton candy to the angry mob.

The bus driver angrily tells SpongeBob that he has a "no singing" policy when he is about to sing a song for Sandy.

He also appears as a photographer that takes a photo of SpongeBuck SquarePants and his pals at the end of the story.

He is seen in the line at a game store at New Kelp City in a sleeping bag where he gets frightened and runs away from the bubble CheeseHead blew along with the others in the line. He later appears out of a manhole and starts blowing bubbles after CheeseHead gets rid of The Bubble Poppin' Boys. He thanks CheeseHead for getting rid of them as well.

He claims that he wants handsome Squidward's eyelids when he walks out of his house.

On a windy night he and Incidental 45 are leaving a Diner when their leftovers blow away in the wind. He is then seen getting blown into the Krusty Krab by the wind and bumps into Incidental 64 while Mr. Krabs is calling SpongeBob.

He shoves Incidental 40 while waiting in the line for the Secret Krusty Krab and they end up arguing about what shoving means. He also appears as a member of the SWAT Team employed by Al Gristlepuss.

SpongeBob shows Stanley a picture in his house of him serving food to Incidental 41 at the Krusty Krab.
"Spongicus"[]
He yells "Boo!" when SpongeBob rescues Patrick from the lion fish.

He is shown to be the drummer of the Bikini Bottom Symphony Orchestra. He is also heard in the audience chanting "Squidward!" at the end of the episode.

He tosses his paper Krabby Patty onto Mr. Krabs' nose.

He asks Squidward that he ordered a couple of Krabby Patties and wonders when they would be out.

He asks Giant Squidward to dust his attic as an act of kindness. He later sneezes and all the citizens of Bikini Bottom tell him bless you except for Giant Squidward, which makes the mob angry at him again for not telling him bless you.
"No Nose Knows"[]
He appears at a table with a plate of pastries at a bakery with Incidental 1D.
"Plankton's Regular"[]
His most notable appearance where he is named Nat throughout the episode, he feigns enjoyment of Plankton's chum in order to fulfill a deal with Karen, Plankton's wife. He is shown to live in a mobile home and apparently possesses great acting skills, as he manages to fend off SpongeBob's persistent attempts to give him a Krabby Patty. However, one can foresee the ending when Nat is forced to taste Mr. Krabs' Krusty Chum and he proclaims that it is the second foulest thing he has ever tasted. The audience can infer that the foulest thing is actually Chum, and Mr. Krabs has thwarted him in that area of food service as well. At the end of the episode, Nat breaks the news to Plankton and cuts off the deal with Karen, returning the money that she had given him to eat at the Chum Bucket. He is last shown being carted off by medical staff members to have his stomach pumped, which he claims will be the third time he will have visited the doctor on account of Chum.

Mr. Krabs asks him if he is interested in reading the Examiner. He replies by saying that nobody reads the Examiner and that the Bottomfeeder is the newspaper that's really selling.
"SpongeBob SquarePants vs. The Big One"[]
He and Incidental 42 appear on surfboards at Goo Lagoon where Mr. Krabs tries to offer Krabby Patties to them. He later appears on a beach blanket with Incidental 45 where Sandy's helicopter nearly crashes into the two of them.

He is seen hanging out with SpongeBob after he gains a lot of money and tells Patrick that he can buy and sell him with the amount of money he has.

After Patrick accidentally gets sand in Incidental 31's sandwich, Incidental 41 jokingly tells him that's why they call it a "SANDwich" and then chokes on some sand.

He parks at the Chum Bucket with Incidental 106 due to there being no parking spaces at the Krusty Krab. The two of them later constantly appear at the Chum Bucket talking about how much they love the slogan, despite the food being terrible.

He appears at a bus stop with some other fish until he hears SpongeBob singing "Oh, Krusty Krab" and heads towards the Krusty Krab.
"Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy"[]
He laughs at a naked Sandy with Incidental 42 and Incidental 108.

His face is touched by SpongeBob due to him being blind, thanks to Plankton.
"Greasy Buffoons"[]
When Incidental 40 tells the customers at the Chum Bucket about the Deluxe Krabby Patties sign at the Krusty Krab, Incidental 41 constantly asks him where the sign is located. He later notices the sign for Ultra Chummy Patties at the Chum Bucket with Incidental 40 and Incidental 42.
"A Pal for Gary"[]
He appears as a sheriff in the show Gary the Snail is watching and the Fish cowboy informs him that he caught the robber.
"SpongeBob's Last Stand"[]
He is first seen driving a car during the song "Give Jellyfish Fields a Chance" with SpongeBob and Patrick protesting on top of it, causing him to zoom away to get them off of his car. He is also seen eating a ham on rye sandwich as well as appearing as one of Buxton's servants during the song as well. He is then seen during the end of the song and furiously destroys Patrick's tambourine making SpongeBob believe that he has a dislike for tambourines.

He is seen having his arm chewed by a hungry Incidental 40 when the stage lights come on and he gives him some salt to go with it. He then becomes amazed by Incidental 107 tossing his patty at Squidward and decides to buy one so he can toss one at him himself.

He then realizes that Squidward was reading SpongeBob's diary to them when they see SpongeBob run out of the Krusty Krab crying. He lastly appears near the end of the episode where he and several other Bikini Bottom citizens toss tomatoes at Squidward. SpongeBob tries to tell Incidental 41 that he only read his work diary and Incidental 41 then points out that Squidward was reading SpongeBob's personal diary, which upsets SpongeBob and causes Incidental 41 and the other citizens to toss their tomatoes at Squidward.

He is trapped inside the Krusty Krab with police surrounding the scene. SpongeBob arrives at the scene to save the day and carefully places a slice of cheese on the Krabby Patty. SpongeBob then carries him outside to reveal that the cheese was finally added, resulting in the customers lifting him up and congratulating him before he wakes up.

- In a deleted scene of the episode "Big Pink Loser" and in the episode "Plankton's Regular," it is revealed he lives in a trailer.
- Incidental 41 has been known to have some well known memes.
- The scene from the episode "The Algae's Always Greener" when Incidental 41 shows Plankton a poorly cooked Krabby Patty to Squidward has become a well known meme known as "What? It's just an ordinary Krabby-oh my goodness! Squidward!" This meme is mainly used for sudden things that people have not seen coming from an ordinary object until they are given a closer and more detailed look of it.
- The scene from the episode "Plankton's Regular" where Incidental 41 (named Nat in that episode) goes down an underground tunnel that says it was a shortcut to the Chum Bucket, but ends up arriving at the Krusty Krab instead as a trick has became a well known meme known as "This isn't the Chum Bucket!"
