Louis Howland "Lou" Simpson (1882-1977) was the youngest son of Howland Simpson I and Gabby Crouse. He married Zorina Ovadia and the couple had three children named Echardt Simpson, Bob Simpson and Twyla Simpson. He is also the maternal grandfather of Fernice Schedeen and Ingrid Schedeen. He is the paternal grandfather of Vern, Verna, Eckhardt and Lotus He is Orville's paternal uncle, Abe's paternal granduncle, Homer's paternal great-granduncle, and Bart, Lisa, and Maggie's paternal great-great-granduncle.

Don't confuse Uncle Lou with Lou Simpson, despite having the same name, they are different people.
Lou Simpson is Homer's great-granduncle, that is, he is a member of the Simpson family.
Uncle Lou is related to Marge, being part of the Bouvier family or the Gurney family.
