L.T. Smash or Lieutenant Smash is the man who recruited Bart, Milhouse, Nelson and Ralph into a boy band called the Party Posse, which was really just a plot to get people to join the Navy, and enhanced their singing by using a voice enhancer built by NASA.

History[]

He was secretly working with the government to recruit people and children to join the navy by using subliminal messages in a music video. During a concert on an aircraft carrier he learns that MAD Magazine is going to reveal the truth about the Party Posse. To stop them he sends the aircraft carrier to New York City and fires a missile at the MAD Magazine building, destroying it in the process. He is arrested for this and the Party Posse is no more.[1]

Trivia[]

  • L.T. Smash is similar to Lyle Lanley from "Marge vs. the Monorail" and Jessica Lovejoy from "Bart's Girlfriend", in that they don't appear to be evil at first, but as the episode progresses, their true twisted nature is revealed.
  • L.T. Smash appeared in The Simpsons: Tapped Out as a character during Act 2 (Pop) of the Homerpalooza 2017 event.
  • L.T. Smash had an Navy-issue anchor tattoo on the lower portion of his right bicep, as well as a giant tattoo on his chest with a battleship prominently displayed saying "I [heart] the Navy", both of which he unintentionally exposed to Lisa while denying her claims to a conspiracy (first by leaning his arm enough to expose the tattoo, and the second due to a premature activation of his desk fan forcing open his shirt).
    • Although the nameplate on his desk was revealed to actually say "Lt. Smash", he implies when revealing his true identity to Lisa that his initials were indeed "L.T."
  • L.T. Smash apparently has a deep-seated hatred of the hippie movement that's implied to be his primary motivation for his role in the Party Posse program to subtly recruit people into the navy, as he has a fantasy while watching the kids perform in tandem with Party Posse of them attacking hippies who are shouting anti-American slogans, with his commanding officer implying this wasn't the first time he's engaged in such fantasies (though Smash indicates they're less frequent in the present day).
  • L.T. Smash's voice is similar to that of Duffman, albeit in a slightly more sinister manner.
