Austria-Hungary Anthem is the anthem of Austria-Hungary that is sung by Mr. Burns before the basketball game at his new stadium starts.
Lyrics[]
My country 'tis of thee
Austria-Hungary
Obey your king
Behind the laughter[]
This song is a parody of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", which uses the tune of "God Save the King", the British anthem.
An actual Austria-Hungary Anthem was "Gott erhalte, Gott beschütze unsern Kaiser unser Land" (meaning "God save and God protect our Emperor and our country"). The tune was inspired by "God Save the King", according to Haydn, the composer himself. The tune predates Austria-Hungary and was originally written for Holy Roman Emperor Francis II under different lyrics (“Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser”), it is also reused for the current German anthem.
