Ashlee Starling is a popular singer amongst the youth of Springfield, her fans include Lisa Simpson who joined her fandom at the age of only four.
Appearance[]
Ashlee appears as a youthful lady with yellow skin, a pointy nose and upturned eyes, she has dark blue hair worn in a bob cut and a widows peak. Being a celebrity she dresses lavishly to suit whatever occasion.
Personality[]
Not much is known about Ashlee. According to Lisa Simpson, she makes inspiring music for the youth, with Lisa sharing with her friends "that she encourages girls to speak truth to power and never date John Mayer". Being a public figure, Ashley puts on a friendly and positive persona, like when she invited Marge for a girls-talk, however this was only to make her drunk and get information out of her about one of her haters, Homer Simpson.
Synopsis[]
Ashlee was mentioned and pictured throughout the episode but did not appear in person until her aerialists delivered a parcel to the Simpsons' family household, which was opened by a eager Lisa Simpson with a note saying "I would like you to have dinner with me" alongside a long red dress, sent as a gift. Lisa was excited as she thought the parcel was for her however after opening a fold in the note, she found it was addressed to her mother Marge, who would later be picked up by Ashlee and taken on a helicopter ride with her, with Marge presuming that Ashlee got in touch with her after seeing her complement Ashlee and her music on the news. Ashlee seemed friendly and gestured Marge to her seat and would proceed to fill up a glass of her own whisky for Marge to drink, which she was seen forcing down her mouth. It was confirmed by the end of the episode, that she had gotten Marge high on alcohol in hopes she would reveal information about Homer, who had previously criticized her and her music, thus making him into her enemy. With her crafty plan succeeding, Starling quickly released a song accompanied by a music video, exposing embarrassing things about Homer, based on what Marge had shared with her, even with the actors in the music video portraying Marge and Homer.
This would lead to Homer, (after also finding out Bart and Lisa had been behind the glitter bomb explosions around him and the raven birds harrassing and stealing his food and that Marge had exposed him to Starling by mistake) to visit the home of his ally, the singer, Echo to make a song about his feelings on the betrayal of his family. After Homer returned and showed them his new music video, the family made up with each other before heading off late to church and Ashlee's fans (who had previously stalked and pranked Homer with Bart and Lisa) to drop their vendetta against Simpson.
