“ You are wrong. Grayskull brought out the best in me! My best is just a little different than yours, nephew! „
~ Keldor accepting the power of havoc.
“ My curse is a blessing in disguise. I've been looking at everything wrong for so very long. Grayskull, the light I once sought to wield, is the tool of a soldier, one who fights at the behest of others. Havoc, on the other hand... From the ruins of this fallen kingdom, from where the Snakes failed to bring ancient Eternia to its knees, I will usher in an era of brimstone and blight that will bless the modern age and all ages yet to come with the purity... of... HAVOC! The time of Grayskull has passed. Welcome... to the age of SKELETOR!
„
~ Keldor announcing himself as Skeletor while rejecting the power of Grayskull.

Keldor, later known as Skeletor, is the main antagonist of the Netflix original series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, a reboot of the 1980 TV series of the same name.

In the past, he was the prince of Eternos and young brother of King Randor. For so long, he sought the power of Grayskull to claim the throne of Eternos for himself but was curse by the castle as a result of his greedy ambitions. For ten years, Keldor hid in Snake Mountain to sustain himself from the curse until he felt the power of Grayskull again. After his transformation, Keldor renamed himself to Skeletor while no longer seeking Grayskull's power. Throughout the series, he seeks to fulfill his plans of becoming a god and reshape the universe in his image. Skeletor is also the arch-nemesis of Prince Adam/He-Man.

He is voiced by Benjamin Diskin, who voiced Szayel Aporro Granz from Bleach, Shouichi Shinkawa from Sword Art Online, Black Doom from Sonic X Shadow Generations, and Venom from The Spectacular Spider-Man.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In general/Background[]

  • Even before he became Skeletor, Keldor was always a power-obsessed man with delusions of grandeur, who values no one but himself and puts his narcissistic desires above all else.
  • Despite having some comedic moments, it does not detract from Skeletor's evil as he is taken seriously by the narrative and most of the comedy surrounding him just showcases his sadism and egotistical attitude towards others.
  • He tried to kill the Masters of the Universe multiple times, who are all children with one being his nephew, Adam.
  • Keldor had his allies, Kronis and Evelyn, to stage a coup in the kingdom of Eternos while he kidnaps a young Prince Adam, to negotiate a deal with the Eldress of Castle Grayskull in giving him the castle's power in exchange for Adam's life.
  • After being cursed by the castle, Keldor attempted to attack the Eldress until Adam intervene with the Sword of Power. Angered by this, Keldor attacked him until he was unconscious then tried to do the same with the Eldress but she used her powers to banish him from the castle for good. This event lead Adam to be teleported to the jungle without his memories and Randor sealing the sword away because he was so horrified by the incident it led him to think the sword's power killed his son and brother.

Season 1[]

  • Keldor stole the life energy of 10 royal guards from Eternos the process resulted them turning into stone.
  • He works with Evelyn and Kronis again to get Grayskull's power but first has to get the Sword of Power from Adam. Since Adam is an amnesiac, Keldor used this opportunity to manipulate Adam into thinking he is a concern family member so he can lower his guard down.
    • He takes the sword from Adam's hands and had his allies blow up Adam and his friends with missile launchers trapping them in rubble. Afterwards, they head to Castle Grayskull and used the sword to open it's gates.
  • He traps He-Man and his friends in the castle and tries to force him into using the castle's power of freeing him from his curse.
  • Keldor fights He-Man in the castle depths through this he mocks his nephew by comparing him to his brother, Randor.
  • As to not admit defeat, Keldor plunged the Havoc Staff into the castle's beam of light to gain more power, resulting in his transformation as Skeletor.
  • Skeletor summons monsters to attack a royal convoy and had them kidnap General Dolos in his plans of stealing the Kirbinite metal from Eternos. He has Kronis to scan Dolos to create a holographic disguise in order to enter Eternos without anyone noticing him.
  • When he was using the Kirbinite to upgrade his allies valuables, he sends in a magical storm that has been felt by the citizens of Eternos.
  • During his fight with He-Man, Skeletor breaks the Sword of Power, which sends the heroes back to their base form. He then ties them up and throws them in a pit where they be consumed by a lava infused havoc as to convert them to his side.
  • Skeletor brainwashed an entire legion of royal soldiers and drones for his invasion on Eternos.
  • Expecting their betrayal, Skeletor takes away his allies powers and revealed to them that he only needed the Kirbinite to amplify the havoc to control them. This shows that he has no genuine care for his allies and views them as tools for him to use. Afterwards, he gives back his power to them but brainwashed them in the process.
  • He successfully overthrows King Randor and takes his throne, cementing himself as the new ruler of Eternos.

Season 2[]

  • Skeletor orders Beast Man to follow a spy drone that left it's position, this lead Beast Man to discover Randor and Teela with Skeletor giving Beast Man permission to go after them.
  • After uncovering a clue in Grayskull's portrait, Skeletor and Evil-Lyn head to Snake Mountain to find a piece of the Sigil of King Hiss where they discovered that the Masters of the Universe is alive. He sends Evil-Lyn to get the piece while he deals with He-Man and Stratos.
    • Skeletor attempted to kill Stratos, who is the ruler of Avion, twice despite Evil-Lyn's warnings, leading her to teleport both of them back to Eternos to avoid a war between Avion and Eternos. Angered by this decision and losing the sigil piece, Skeletor breaks her staff and banishes her from Eternos wishing to never see her again.
  • Since Beast Man failed to retrieve Randor, Skeletor orders Trap-Jaw to release Tri-klops so they can capture his brother easily.
  • Through the help of Randor's dairy and discovering the vault containing the sigil is actually a train, Skeletor goes after it and successfully got the second piece.
  • Skeletor threw the wishing stone into space out of fear that Duncan would use it to wish him out of existence or leave him behind during a lockdown in Castle Grayskull. He then demands Duncan to find another way out through different means while suspecting Duncan is plotting behind his back.
    • Despite the nice things Duncan has done for him as to celebrate his birthday, Skeletor still demeans him and remains ungrateful even though Duncan was trying to be nice to him.
    • After Duncan retrieve the wishing stone, Skeletor fought him over it and tried to destroy it.
  • When he returns to Eternos, Skeletor orders his guards to imprison Randor in the dungeons.
  • After Duncan accidentally revealed the location of Castle Grayskull, Skeletor brings his army to Avion to attack the Masters of the Universe and get their sigil pieces while wanting to destroy Castle Grayskull.
  • Skeletor orders his army to attack Avion.
  • Being overwhelmed by his enemies, Skeletor used his magic to power himself up including his allies and launched a strong attack at He-Man. He managed to get the other pieces until he was attacked by Duncan's ship, which separated him from his staff.
  • He tried to manipulate Beast Man and Trap-Jaw by promising that he would give them god-like powers once he becomes one but they rebelled against him knowing his promise is a lie.
  • Before he was destroyed, Skeletor transfers his soul to the ramstone on Krass's helmet so he can escape death and tricked everyone into thinking he is dead. He haresses Krass in spirit and tries to get under skin.
  • Skeletor emotionally manipulated Krass into thinking that her friends are going to abandon her and used her grief of losing her parents against her by telling her he be willing to bring them back as long she helps him in his plans. After successfully convincing her, he made her steal all three sigil pieces and return to Castle Grayskull so she can retrieve the Havoc Staff.
    • Skeletor went so far to intimidate her into thinking that havoc has been around her life for so long she would not be able to ignite the power of Grayskull within her someday.
    • His actions of manipulating Krass led her to a path of villainy due to her desperation of wanting her family back, leading her into becoming Rampage: Dark Master of Destruction.
  • He successfully gained the Sigil of King Hiss by having Krass merged the three pieces, this action led the resurrection of the snake people.

Season 3[]

  • When He-Man arrived to save Krass, Skeletor kicks him out of the castle and closed the gate so he won't come back inside. He then summoned a batch of snakes to attack He-Man.
  • He had the snakes dig underground to find the tomb of King Grayskull as he plans to merge with the former king's bones so he can gain full control of the castle.
  • He commands Krass to tell He-Man to either let the snakes continue their business or Randor dies but is angered when Krass refuses to say that.
  • Skeletor encourages a fight between Krass and He-Man doing so gives him time to get rid of the force field that is protecting Grayskull's bones. After successfully getting the body, Skeletor summoned the snakes and had Krass throw King Hiss's sigil out in the open for the snakes to merge with it turning into a giant powerful snake.
    • Doing this lead He-Man to be corrupted by havoc because he used the havoc to destroy the snake from within when he was eaten by it.
  • After successfully merging with Grayskull's body, Skeletor decides to infect the entire world with havoc while announcing himself as a god to the people of Eternia. By doing this, people would be under his control and be horrifically transformed into being a part of his Dark Masters. To make it worse, he admits that some may not survive.
  • When Beast Man return to support Skeletor on his success, Skeletor forcefully transformed him into a Skele-drone out of spite because he has not forgotten his betrayal towards him. He even had Krass to watch the process happen, which horrified her.
    • This moment is what led Krass to finally rebel against him because she did not want her parents to be brought back under his control, which Skeletor proudly admits to.
  • He attempted to kill Krass by putting more havoc into her body.
  • To save Krass, Adam gives up the Sword of Power and gives it to Skeletor while telling him he can conquer the universe with it. Skeletor merged both Grayskull's power and the Havoc Staff to transform into a dragon with the purpose of remaking the universe in his own twisted image.
  • After his defeat and reverted back to his human form, Keldor refuses to change his ways while being ungrateful towards Adam because he could not understand why Adam chooses to restore him despite having the power of the universe. Before being taken away, Keldor throws a menacing warning of an incoming threat that he saw in the center of the universe but this was not done out of genuine concern more so to mock his family because they don't know what to expect.
