“ Scratch a hero deep enough and you'll find the coward inside. „
~ Mirage

Mirage, also known as the Evil Incarnate, is the secondary antagonist of the Aladdin television series.

She is the Queen of Evil in the Aladdin universe and can compete with Jafar and Mozenrath for the title of Aladdin's most dangerous foe. She is loosely based on the Egyptian goddess Bastet and she carries several references to Ancient Egypt, such as her temple which looks like a Sphinx.

She was voiced by Bebe Neuwirth.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • She has her minions, the Fire Cats, attack an innocent and defenseless village kill the innocent people there by burning them because she was not only doing this for her own amusement, but also envious towards the farmers in the village for doing something good, farming some crops to sustain themselves, and tried to take the farmers from the village for her personal gain.
  • She teleports Aladdin and co. to Morbia disguising it as a real world while also disguising herself as Jasmine to trick Aladdin, expressing her dislike towards him just to toy with his feelings before pushing him into a hole.
  • Revealing her true self and the true form of the dimension, Mirage pushes Aladdin in the end so that he could know true fear.
  • She has her minions capture Genie in order to know the whereabouts of Aladdin and his companions while having no hesitations to let her minions killing the Genie, sneeringly mocking that Genie's cowardice would make a nice appetizer for her minions.
  • She ordered the El-Katib to kidnap several children, preferably the ones that are corrupted, so that she could make a deal with them under the pretense they could become an immortal and powerful and of course, she had done this to other children that fell into her grasp.
  • If someone made a deal with Mirage, you have to serve her for eternity.
  • She disguise herself as an unassuming make-up saleswoman so that she could manipulate Jasmine to buy one of her products to impress Aladdin with her beautiful looks. It turned her into a half-snake woman which resulted on Aladdin and co. go into a perilous journey to find "The Tree of Renewal" to cure Jasmine's ailments thanks to Genie info.
  • She attempts to crush all hope by wilting the tree and so does the fruit with her black magic which would resulted on Jasmine unable to come back as Mirage sneered towards Aladdin about how futile their efforts were.
  • She putting an obelisk outside of Agrabah while sneering that the soul of the city will be ripped apart.
    • As the Genie observes the obelisk, it was then revealed that the shadow of the obelisk would destroy anything in it's path, evidenced when Genie's binoculars ended up getting half consumed by the shadow.
  • While Mirage tells Aladdin and co. that to destroy an obelisk they'll need to find a mirror on the cave located in the top of the world, if they pick the wrong mirror, they'll be caught in a rubble as the cave will be destroyed but if you pick the right mirror then they'll will be trapped in a pocket dimension that Mirage has made.
  • She causes a storm in order to sink the ship that an innocent king boarded so that the country would collapse into a civil war.
  • She manipulates Chaos by saying Agrabah was clean and sterile from conflict which causes Chaos to team up with Mirage so that he could bring a balance by causing some mayhem in Agrabah, at least according to Chaos's intepretation.
  • She went into a subterranean ancient city where an ancient music box was stored there as she attempts to activate the music box to put people in Agrabah into sleep.
  • The reason Mirage puts the entire citizens of Agrabah into sleep is so that she could destroy Aladdin by making the people who fell asleep into a brainwashed Zombie Servant that could only do nothing but to destroy Aladdin.
  • Mirage become disgusted seeing Iago experiencing a good dream and uses her black magic so that she could alter Iago's dream into a nightmare by having him encountered his previous master, Jafar.
  • Aladdin has to face a demon made by nightmares known as Slumbergath as Mirage uses it to kill Aladdin while mocking about his futile attempt killing Slumbergath as many heroes died in the past facing against it
  • According to Iago, she is an Evil Incarnate and of course Mirage is proud of the evil things she had done and is appalled by the things that are good in the world. Fasir's comment literally subverts the notion that Mirage is made of evil given she used to be Fasir's lover who made a choice to become evil and she really really enjoys the evil things she had done. However, Fasir is not an omniscient being because of the fact that Mirage manages to overpower him and at the end of the day, it's just a throwaway line and a Sequel Hook that was never explored.
  • She is played as a consistently Pure Evil character that will never be redeemed in the end.
  • While Mirage does express a pity towards Slumbergath, who has been weakened for years until Mirage decided to revive it, When Aladdin manages to defeat Slumbergath, we see that Mirage was angry, but this is not because Slumbergath was defeated, but it's because Mirage's plans was thwarted and she just go back to continue her plans to make Aladdin failed as if nothing happened.
  • Mirage has no redeeming qualities to speak of and she's just pure evil through and through who embraces her status as an evil villain and played as a consistent threat across the series.
