He is also the alter of Vinegar Doppio. alongside the wielder of his powerful Stand King Crimson. A man obsessed with achieving absolute anonymity alongside tyrannically ruling Italy with an iron fist, he serves as the archenemy of Giorno Giovanna and Bruno Bucciarati due to their shared goals of dismantling his drug empire.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- Despite Polnareff and Risotto claiming that Doppio and Diavolo have Dissociative Identity Disorder and that an incident in Doppio's childhood could have created Diavolo, Diavolo's backstory is too vague for him to be classified as Amoral. While it is entirely possible that Doppio's anger and frustration have incarnated into Diavolo, he shows to be his own individual who can think for himself and it is shown that he and Doppio have two separate souls during the Chariot Requiem arc, further supporting the fact he is his own individual.
- Although he showed his compassion to his alter, Vinegar Doppio, it could only be because as Doppio and Diavolo exist in the same body, harming Doppio might risk Diavolo's life alongside his anonymity. However, he still corrupted Doppio into being a loyal follower of Passione. Even if this care was genuine, he subverts it by leaving Doppio to die when everyone's souls have been swapped.
- Despite being supposedly disgusted having to send Cioccolata and Secco after Team Bucciarati, he didn't have any regrets with the massacre they committed in Rome, only being disappointed that they weren't able to succeed in their mission. He is also directly responsible for the said massacre.
- Although Diavolo does not resort to murdering a cleaner and a taxi driver who almost uncovered him by accident, this is to avoid any attention caused by killing them, not out of mercy or any standards.
- While he seems to have a sense of honor, as he would praise his opponents for their strength, he most likely doesn't actually respect them:
- Although he showed respect towards Risotto Nero upon defeating him, this was merely a means of persuading him into restoring his depleted nutrients.
- Despite initially praised Polnareff for him predicting the time erase through the blood drop from his finger, he later brutally killed Polnareff and humiliated him by stepping on his face, showing his respect is superficial.
- Despite his anger and loud, over-the-top moments providing some laughs, they don't detract from his villainy, and they're too far and far between to make him any less serious.
- While other main antagonists have done worse with similar resources, Diavolo has the unique crime of affecting an entire country, alongside having personal villainy towards all of the main characters. He is also the reason every villain has their Stand in the first place, which enabled them to commit their atrocities.
Background[]
- He killed his mother and his adoptive father, it is implied he also started a church fire which would also kill 5 more people.
- Despite apparently loving his ex-girlfriend Donatella Una, keeping a photo of her after all this time, he's shown to have lied about everything about him, including his name, and whatever love he had for her was more than likely gone when he became a mafia member. Not only this, he gets angry upon realizing the photo he took of her still exists.
- He discovered 6 Stand Arrows that he sold five of them to Enya Geil and used one for himself, thus being responsible for many people in the world who attained their own Stands. This would include Dio Brando, who not only awakened the Stand of nearly every Joestar family member with a curse, but also killed Noriaki Kakyoin using his Stand among several other atrocities. Additionally, DIO's subordinates would end up murdering many innocent people and animals in their battle against the Joestar Group. Enya Geil would later gift the sixth Stand arrow to Yoshihiro Kira, who activated the Stand of his son Yoshikage Kira, and Mr. Nijimura. Thus, Diavolo is indirectly responsible for all of Keicho Nijimura's actions after DIO's death resulting in his father's transformation, which would cause the deaths of many innocent people (including Josuke Higashikata's grandfather at the hands of Anjuro "Angelo" Katagiri) and Stand-incompatible people (which could have resulted in the death of Koichi Hirose, and this would result with Koichi having to deal with people like Tamami Kobayashi, Toshikazu Hazamada, Yukako Yamagishi, Rohan Kishibe, and Teronsuke Miyamoto due to his Stand power), as well as the deaths of many due to Yoshikage Kira's actions of using his Stand Killer Queen, including the murder of Shigechi Yangu, killing Kosaku Kawajiri and stealing his identity, the murder of Aya Tsuji, and all the psychological abuse/torture caused to Hayato Kawajiri, and many people losing their loved ones in Morioh. And because one of his arrows went into DIO's possession, it was given to Enrico Pucci during his lowest point in life, which results with him becoming a villain while donning the Stand Whitesnake (which evolved into C Moon, and Made in Heaven), which also results with his brother Domenico Pucci/Wes Bluemarine/Weather Report donning the Stand known as Weather Report.
- He is most likely responsible for every heinous thing that every Stand user has caused. Even if he was completely unaware of everything else that has happened because of him, he would not have showed any remorse whatsoever.
- He and Kars are both indirectly responsible for the end result of the storyline, which results with Pucci resetting the universe with his Stand Made in Heaven, which results in the deaths of countless people, including Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne Cujoh, Ermes Costello, and Narciso Anasui, which leaves Emporio Alniño traumatized despite undoing everything that Pucci did. None of this could have happened if DIO wasn't provided with a stone mask and a Stand arrow, something that Kars and Diavolo indirectly provided.
- When taking control of Passione, Diavolo encouraged the drug and crime trade, damaging the entire country of Italy through drug addiction in the youth, crime and police corruption. In addition to this, he is responsible for every main character being a criminal and part of Passione:
- Bruno Bucciarati: The drug problem in Italy caused the death of Bruno's father.
- Leone Abbacchio: Due to the rampant crime in Italy, Abbacchio's stress turned him into a corrupt cop who accepted bribes, leading to his partner's death and him getting fired.
- Guido Mista: The crime problem led to Mista killing three men trying to rape a woman, and the corruption led to him being sent to jail, in which he was freed by Bruno.
- Pannacotta Fugo: After getting kicked out of his university and then shunned by his parents for savagely beating his perverted professor who tried to molest him, Fugo joined into shoplifting and stealing.
- Narancia Ghirga: Due to Passione's criminal youth, Narancia was picked up by young gangs, leading to him getting falsely accused and arrested.
- Giorno Giovanna: He joined Passione in order to stop Diavolo and his drug trade towards the youth.
- Diavolo injured Jean Pierre Polnareff by throwing him off a cliff onto a boulder below after cutting off his legs, one of his arms, and blinding him in one eye.
- He used Passione to control all communications from Italy so Polnareff couldn't call Jotaro or the Speedwagon Foundation for help without the risk of being hunted down by Passione's assassins.
- He severely underpaid La Squadra Esecuzioni for no reason in particular, which caused them to betray him.
- When he discovered that Squadra Esecuzioni made attempts to discover his identity, Diavolo ordered Cioccolata and Secco to brutally hack Sorbet into pieces while Gelato watched, and he sent Sorbet's body parts to La Squadra's base to keep them in line. In the manga, it is implied that Diavolo killed Sorbet by himself.
Golden Wind[]
- After realizing that he had a daughter, Trish Una, Diavolo wanted to kill her personally to clear his trace.
- He had Leaky Eye Luca killed for no reason other than his loss to Giorno.
- He ordered Pericolo's suicide after the completion of his mission so that he couldn't be traced through Pericolo.
- He gave orders to Team Bucciarati that only one person can go in alone with Trish at San Giorgio Maggiore Church without any weapons or communication tools so he can ensure that he can kill her himself without risking his identity being exposed to anyone.
- He killed Bruno Bucciarati for protecting his daughter, which resulted in him becoming a living corpse as Giorno was too late to heal him when he arrived at the church.
- After Doppio angrily attacks a fortune teller for trying to look into his past and Diavolo's past, Diavolo takes over and torments the fortune teller into giving him Risotto's location. Then he makes the fortune teller go insane by cutting his hand off before killing him by smashing his head.
- He throws scalpels at Narancia and Bucciarati to trick Narancia into shooting and killing Risotto since Diavolo wasn't on Aerosmith's radar due to not being able to breathe.
- He devoured a frog and drank the blood from a young boy he kidnapped after the battle with Risotto Nero.
- He kills Leone Abbacchio by punching a hole through his chest, who tried to recreate the scene of him taking a picture of his girlfriend.
- He sent Cioccolata and Secco to Rome to kill team Bucciarati, indirectly causing the massacre Cioccolata committed to Rome.
- He brutally murdered Jean Pierre Polnareff before he could hand the Arrow to Giorno and his crew.
- Diavolo abandoned a dying Doppio after their souls were swapped, ignoring his cries for help. After this, he never mentions Doppio or even thinks about him.
- He broke a nearby fence and impaled Narancia on it to stop him from detecting Diavolo, killing him instantly.
- Diavolo angrily tried to kill his daughter again by punching through her stomach when pursuing the Arrow, which caused physical pain to Diavolo due to being in the same body. He then calls her a mistake and says he wishes that she was never born.
- When Bucciarati is about to destroy Chariot Requiem and put everyone's souls in the right bodies, Diavolo tries to persuade Bucciarati not to do it because if he does, Diavolo will not get the Arrow to evolve his Stand.
- When Giorno's Stand achieves its Requiem state, he futilely attempts to kill Giorno countless times.
- While he does receive a fate worse than death, namely being trapped in an endless death-cycle, he absolutely deserves it for everything he has done and it's not played for sympathy. This is also proven to be extremely poetic fate due to the death loop only leaving the process of death instead of the result, the very absolute concept that Diavolo was obsessed with.
