The Song of Confusion is the thirty-sixth episode of Power Rangers Turbo.
Synopsis[]
Cassie and her friend Vicki hold auditions for a full-fledged band, and meet a pre-existing band known as "Crash & The Creeps", whose hit song "Confusion" gets in the heads of everyone in Angel Grove, even the Power Rangers, who then discover that it's a hypnotism plot by Divatox, as Crash & The Creeps are actually a band of monsters in disguise.
Plot[]
Cassie and her friend Vicki are performing a song at the Juice Bar to an appreciative crowd including Stone. They consider forming a band and auditioning for other members. Stone says they can have the auditions there. Divatox observes this through a periscope and tells Porto to hand her a guitar: She's going to come up with a song for the Rangers.
Cassie and Vicki sit through a long stream of hopeless auditions, including one by Bulk and Skull. Just as they are about to give up, a young man, Crash, turns up with four friends he dubs "the Creeps". The five of them perform an impressive and catchy song about "Confusion". The girls are impressed but, even though Vicki is meant to be playing bass, Crash insists they have to either take all five of them or none at all. Vicki tells Cassie to perform with the quintet and she'll write the songs.
Cassie has the song stuck in her head at school. T.J. asks her about the new band and she says they have their first gig at the youth centre. Cassie performs the "Confusion" song with the Creeps at the gig. with T.J., Ashley, Carlos and Justin among the cheering crowd. Vicki looks unhappy at how things have worked out, however. When Cassie talks to her afterwards, Vicki says Crash has dismissed her songs.
Justin and Carlos take the band's equipment outside and stumble across a group of Piranhatrons loading music equipment into a van. A fight breaks out and, although two Rangers triumph, they are hampered by the fact they keep singing and dancing to the "Confusion" song. Some time later, T.J. and Justin are studying but T.J. starts involuntarily singing the song, prompting the librarian to silence him.
The other Rangers try to talk to Cassie about the song but are interrupted by a call from Alpha: Divatox's monsters are attacking Angel Grove. They morph and confront five monsters coloured the same as them. The fight ends when the Rangers shoot the monsters with their Auto Blasters, causing them to flee. Divatox is furious and sends Rygog after them. Rygog berates the five, who are mollified when Porto presents them with a weapon of their own, the Ranger Scrambler, which they and Elgar are impressed by.
Cassie sees everyone at school is in a stupor, with the "Confusion" song stuck in their heads. Crash is handing out flyers advertising the next gig. Cassie tries to talk to him about using Vicki's song but Crash states they already have a sound and Vicki is out, before revealing they have a live broadcast from the lake set up. Crash and the Creeps then report to Divatox at the Space Base, dreaming of their sound taking over the world. Divatox warns them not to run from a fight again.
Elgar, Porto and the Piranhatrons help Crash and the Creeps set up for their gig. The Rangers teleport in and try to warn Crash he's in danger but Crash responds by turning into the red leader of the monsters they faced earlier. The Piranhatrons attack the Rangers, who are distracted by the Creeps playing the "Confusion" song. T.J. blasts Crash's guitar and the other Rangers follow suit with the other Creeps' weapons, ending the song.
The Creeps teleport away and the Rangers follow them to the beach, where all the Creeps have now assumed their monster appearance. They blast the Rangers with the Scrambler. The Rangers respond by summoning their Turbo Weapons and converting the Turbo R.A.M. to cannon mode, blasting the Creeps with it. Divatox gives the order to fire torpedoes, growing Crash to giant size. The Rangers summon the Turbo Megazord and, although Crash vows to tear them apart, he is quickly destroyed by a spin-out.
T.J., Justin, Carlos and Ashley are soon back studying, relieved that the song is so out of their heads that they can no longer remember it. At the youth centre, Cassie apologises to Vicki for getting caught up in the song and forgetting about her. Vicki admits she was jealous that everyone was singing the song, including her. Bulk and Skull appear, having heard they have vacancies in their band, and give a tuba blast so strong that it blows everyone about and prompts Stone to throw them out. Cassie and Vicki resolve to start a two-person band with no auditions.

Errors[]
- When blasting Crash and the Creeps' instruments, Carlos and Ashley switched counterparts.
- On top of that, when the instruments are destroyed, they can still be heard in the background, this is due to them not making separate sound tracks for when they are destroyed.
- When T.J. summoned the Turbo R.A.M., it drove up to the Rangers, but the Rangers had already been holding their Turbo Weapons.
- Also, how did they summon them without the R.A.M.?
- The Creeps dropped the Ranger Scrambler despite not having been attacked.
- This was because the shot of them putting it down was cut as White Racer was posing as Rygog and this would make no sense.
- How did the Rangers know to chase The Creeps to the beach? The viewers cut from them running out of the Park to Sentai footage at the beach. Alpha wasn't shown to call them.
- Also, the beach was gravel as opposed to the usual sandy one the viewers saw in episodes such as "Bomber in the Summer".
- When Crash says that he and the Creeps all work together, Cassie says that they can't have a second bassist (Vicki's instrument of choice). However, many real life bands have been known to have more than one player of the same instrument, including bass.
Notes[]
- This episode aired the same day as Beetleborgs Metallix episode 22, The Lost Comic.
- The "Song of Confusion" is later recycled in Richie Rich's Christmas Wish, the Saban Entertainment-produced direct-to-video 1998 sequel to the 1994 Richie Rich film.
- This is the final time any mention is made of Cassie's music career (though it is briefly inferred to during Lost Galaxy's "The Power of Pink", where she jams atop the Wild Cat Galactabeast, only to be thrown off).
- This is the first episode since the Turbo Rangers got the Rescue Zords in which they decide not to use them. This episode also marks the first appearance of the Turbo Megazord since Clash of the Megazords.
- Despite Skull being a masterful pianist, he decides to audition with a bass.
- This episode is the only episode to feature an evil Ranger team (The Creeps) where a good Ranger is a member without being brainwashed. The group was literally named Cassie and The Creeps for a time.
- However, Cassie was unaware of their true nature at the time.
- Of all of the episodes of Turbo, this has the most monsters featured in it at a total of five.
- Dimitria does not appear in this episode with Alpha being the only mentor shown in the Power Chamber.
- This is Vicki's first and only appearance.
- Crash is the only member of the Creeps to appear in monster form in American footage, presumably because the makers of Power Rangers only had his costume.
