Team Work[1] is the fourth episode of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. It marks the debuts of both the Dino Fury Evil Blue Ranger and the Cosmic Fury Zenith Ranger.
Synopsis[]
Ollie races Team Cosmic Fury to find Zayto, but the Zenith Ranger's location is anyone's guess. They'd better move fast though: Lord Zedd's forces loom![2]
Plot[]
Ollie Akana and the monsters Krymzo, Quaddo, Jadana, and Snoutia arrive on the planet Levvina with the intent of finding and capturing Zayto and Mick Kanic. Ollie tries to apply his knowledge of teamwork to make them more effective, but much to his annoyance, the monsters have no interest in working together any more than they have to and would much rather be at one of Squillia Naire's dance parties.
Quaddo wanders through a field and finds a scrap of white fabric underneath a boulder with human hair. Ollie quickly realizes that the "boulder" is Mick, trying to hide with his shapeshifting powers, and correctly guesses that the fabric is from Zayto's cape. He summons the Zentinels to restrain Mick, but before Ollie can take Mick hostage, the Cosmic Fury Zords fly in and destroy his Squidrill; it seems the monsters were too busy bickering over who was supposed to put the force fields up for any of them to actually do it. Amelia Jones, Izzy Garcia, Javi Garcia, and Aiyon then teleport in. Ollie takes sadistic pride in showing off his Evil Blue Ranger form and gloats about how much fun he will have destroying his now-powerless friends. To his surprise, the team has gotten new Cosmic Fury powers, and Amelia is now the Red Ranger. A fight ensues, and the confident teamwork of the Cosmic Fury Rangers overpowers the disorganized monsters. While the Rangers free Mick, Ollie and Snoutia, the battle's only monster survivor, retreat.
Mick explains what he knows about Levvina: the planet seemingly has only one small city of sentient life, while the rest of the planet is one giant forest. He's found the impact crater where Zayto must have landed, and has been retracing Zayto's path through a trail of torn clothes and broken weapons into the woods. As the group navigates the forest, they notice some strange things: no animal life, and branches of trees that attack Aiyon when he attempts to pick some fruit. Ollie notices the same when Snoutia is seized by vines as she kicks the plants in frustration, which Ollie figures he can use to his advantage.
Amelia uses her Rafkonian abilities to mind-meld with a tree, discovering that the entire forest is one giant hive mind that defends itself against intruders who trample the plant life. Aiyon and Amelia learn that the forest found an injured Zayto and encased him in one of its magical glowing trees in order to heal him. Ollie appears and blasts the Rangers into the bushes, tricking the forest into ensnaring Aiyon, Amelia, Izzy, Javi, and Mick. He then leaves Zentinels to stand guard while he returns to his Squidrill so he can search the sky for the healing tree.
Amelia and Aiyon use their telepathy to convince the forest that they mean no harm. The forest trusts them, releasing the group and destroying the Zentinels. While Aiyon breaks off from the group to find the tree, the others summon their Zords to fight Ollie in the Squidrill. Aiyon finds the tree and pulls an unconscious Zayto out. Zayto awakens, but Aiyon notices something is amiss as he can no longer use his telepathy on Zayto. Cagily, Zayto says that the Morphin Masters may have changed him somehow when they revived him. Aiyon thanks the forest for saving his friend, and to his surprise, the forest speaks back, advising Zayto to "enjoy the time he has left".
Meanwhile, the others form their Megazord against Ollie's Squidrill on the outskirts of Levvina's only city. The Squidrill takes damage from Izzy in the Cosmic Shark Zord. Amelia warns Ollie that they won't be able to save him if his ship goes down. Ollie coldly tells the girl he used to love that he does not need saving and teleports away. While Mick borrows the Eagle Zord to return to his home planet, the others regroup at the Command Center on Erridus.
Zayto expresses his pride in Amelia for becoming the New Red Ranger, and Billy hands Zayto his Cosmic Fury Morpher, making him the champagne-colored Zenith Ranger armed with the Morphin' Master Staff. Fern explains to Zayto that Solon and Billy have been working to turn the base into a space ship to get them back to Earth. While Zayto gets caught up on the changes since he's been away, Aiyon takes Amelia aside and tells her about the forest's cryptic words to Zayto. Aiyon is convinced that Zayto is keeping a secret.
On the newly-conquered Eltar, Ollie stands before Lord Zedd and tells him of his failure. Ollie is surprised that teamwork, the strategy he deployed so successfully as a Ranger, did not win the day for him now. Zedd imparts on the young man some evil advice: “The true path to power is to only look out for yourself.” Ollie vows to pursue power and self-gain over everything else, and make his lord proud.

Errors[]
- Dialogue establishes that the Levvina forest does not have any animal life, but a New Zealand bird flies through the background of the shot where Aiyon talks to the healing tree.
- When the Cosmic Fury Megazord is formed, the Cosmic Shark Zord's symbol is replaced by the unnamed Gold Zord symbol.
- This error also occurred in Kyuranger although the Gold Zord's counterpart did not appear in the corresponding Kyuranger episode.
- Javi is in the Cobra Zord cockpit during the Megazord formation, but is then in the Bull Zord cockpit during the final attack.
