Dai-Satan (大サタン Dai Satan, lit."Great Satan") was the true leader of the Bandora Gang and the true main antagonist of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger who desired to turn the Earth into a lifeless wasteland.
History[]
Past[]
Taking the appearance of a massive disembodied head; Dai-Satan first appeared 170 million years ago when he bestowed great magical powers on Witch Bandora of the Fairy Tribe, manipulating her through her grief over the death of her son Kai into laying waste to the Earth. After Bandora was sealed away by the Guardian Beasts, Dai-Satan was banished by Ultimate Daizyuzin but managed to split the Guardian into his three lesser aspects - Daizyuzin, Guardian Beast Dragon Caesar, and Beast Knight God King Brachion.

Zyuranger[]
In the series, Dai-Satan is first mentioned in episode 5 when Bandora invokes his name to gain his blessing for Dora Sphinx's operation. TV STORY-Ep. 5: Scary Riddles
Bandora later invokes his power again when using a ritual to allow for the fairy boy Ryota to reawaken vengeful warrior Burai in the present. TV STORY-Ep. 17: The Sixth Hero
Dai-Satan finally appears in full when Bandora uses Satan's Tower to summon her master to Earth so that he can upgrade Zombie Franke into Satan Franke who immobilizes both Daizyuzin and Dragon Caesar with his poison spray. TV STORY-Ep. 30: Satan Comes!!
However, after the Zyurangers complete a ceremony to restore Daizyuzin's true power and form, Satan Franke is killed by Zyutei Daizyuzin and Dai-Satan is driven back into space by Ultimate Daizyuzin. TV STORY-Ep. 31: Reborn! The Ultimate God

In the finale, Dai-Satan (now heavily scarred thanks to Ultimate Daizyuzin in their last encounter) brings Bandora's son Kai back to life so that he can pilot Dora Talos. TV STORY-Ep. 47: Break in! The Final Deciding Battle
After Bandora uses her magic to make King Brachion sink into the ground, she used Satan's Tower to summon her master once again, who helped her to recreate Dora Talos, which Kai used to severe Daizyujin's left arm and half of Dragon Caesar's tail. TV STORY-Ep. 48: The Son from the Darkness

Ultimate Dai-Satan Awakened By Rita.
Rita's hidden goal is to resurrect Dai-Satan in order to lay waste to the universe which she sees as irredeemable due to the injustices that befell her own world. To accomplish this, she holds a battle between many Sentai teams and uses them to gather six stones to be able to grant any wish. TV STORY-Battle1: Who is the Strongest in History!?
When the stones are all gathered, Rita betrays the Sentai teams and uses them for herself instead to resurrect Dai-Satan in his true form; Ultimate Dai-Satan. Following a confrontation with Stinger and Yamato, Rita goes to a mountain and resurrects the Zyurangers old archenemy in a remade version of Bandora's monster growth sequence. Upon being unleashed and told to destroy existence, Dai-Satan obliterates a volcano so Yamato and Stinger attack but are easily blasted away. Rita summons Yartots and Anaroids to finish them off but the rest of the Oddball Team arrive and defeat them before transforming. After doing their roll call, they activate their strongest forms; Great Instinct Awakened, Chozetsu Mode, Gold Mode, Ikkakuju Arm and Hyper Mode. Even so, Ultimate Dai-Satan proves to be too much powerful until the planetary barrier is destroyed by Luka. However, Captain Marvelous summons Gokai Galleon to ram and suppress him before the team obliterates him with the Super Sentai Special Storm granted by the use of Akarenger's Ranger Key. Personality[]
Dai-Satan was a being who of pure evil and malice, only desiring to turn the Earth into a lifeless wasteland. However, he never spoke and communicated only in growls and laughs. Despite his nature, he showed favoritism towards his loyal followers and proved somewhat benevolent towards them.
After being resurrected as Ultimate Dai-Satan, he became a completely mindless monster loyal only to Rita, communicating only in loud roars and growls.

- Power: Out of all of Bandora's allies, Dai-Satan was the most powerful and the only being that she feared.
- Durability: Dai-Satan survived Ultimate Daizyuzin's Grand Banisher once although he was heavily scarred.
- Flight: As a giant head, Dai-Satan could float in the air.
- Fireball Transportation: Dai-Satan could transport himself to Earth in a gigantic orange fireball.
- Mutation Breath: Dai-Satan could unleash a puff of pure white mist from his mouth capable of mutating Dora Franke into Satan Franke.
- Breath Blasts: Dai-Satan's breath also had offensive capabilities since he used it on Daizyuzin whilst fighting alongside Dora Talos and it was strong enough to send it back-flipping through the city.
- Lightning Vision: Dai-Satan could fire blue lightning from his eyes strong enough to send Daizyuzin's God Horn flying back to Earth.
- Rebuilding: Dai-Satan rebuilt Dora Talos with his power.
- Lightning Waves: Dai-Satan could lean his head/body forward and unleash a devastating wave of lightning from his hair which was strong enough to knock over Daizyuzin and later Gouryuuzin with a single blast each.

- Longevity: Dai-Satan lived for at least 65 million years and remained just as capable as he was originally.
- Empowerment: Dai-Satan was able to grant other beings such as Bandora with special powers.
Weaknesses[]
- Ultimate Daizyuzin: The only being capable of killing Dai-Satan was Ultimate Daizyuzin and its Grand Banisher attack.
- Tears: If someone empowered by Dai-Satan cried, they would lose any powers he had given them.

- Power: Ultimate Dai-Satan was one of the most powerful enemies in Super Sentai history, having the capacity to destroy the entire Earth and taking all past 40 Sentai teams to kill.
- Strength: Ultimate Dai-Satan caused a massive earthquake just by placing his hand on the ground when escaping from Hell and broke Takaharu's Transcendent Shuriken Strike with one swipe of his hand.
- Ground Explosion: Ultimate Dai-Satan was able to stamp with enough force to cause an explosion in the ground and send the Super Rangers flying with one hit and take them out of thier enhanced forms.
- Mouth Beam: Ultimate Dai-Satan could charge black-purple lightning into his mouth to form a big energy ball before spewing it out as a massive energy beam. This was capable of obliterating a volcano with one blast and making it erupt.
- Energy Breath: Ultimate Dai-Satan could also charge red lightning into his mouth to fire a blue energy beam capable of blowing down and demorphing Yamato and Stinger instantly.
- Energy Slashes: Ultimate Dai-Satan could fire gigantic yellow energy slashes from his hands at the empowered OddBall Team but all of them missed.
- Energy Beams: Ultimate Dai-Satan could fire massive purple beams from his right hand capable of causing massive explosions.

- Durability: Ultimate Dai-Satan survived being impaled by the GokaiGalleon and not even Kagura's Hyper Last Stop Crash did anything.

Portrayal[]
- Dai-Satan was portrayed by Masahiko Urano in an effect achieved by covering Urano in make up, making him wear a spiky wig, having him perform the facial features, cutting out his body in post production, and then making it look more natural with effects. Seizo Kato provided his voice, though this only amounted to laughs and snarls.

- Dai-Satan was the only main villain of Zyuranger killed off instead of being sealed at the end.
- Ultimate Dai-Satan's costume was later recolored and reused for the Satan Minosaur in Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger. As footage from Super Sentai Strongest Battle!! went unused for Power Rangers, the Satan Minosaur's appearance in Ryusoulger was adapted into Power Rangers Dino Fury as Lothorn, the nephew of Dai-Satan's counterpart Lokar.
