This article is about a set of villains in Gekiso Sentai Carranger. |
The Space Bosozoku Bowzock (宇宙暴走族ボーゾック Uchū Bōsōzoku Bōzokku) are a space biker gang of thugs who despite their stupidity prove (somewhat of a) scourge to the interplanetary community. As their name implies, named after Japan's Bosozoku subculture, they have no respect for the rules of the road. Interestingly, despite being criminals, Bowzock members earn their living through salaries. They all pronounce Earth as "Earsh"
History[]
The Bowzock was originally founded by Gynamo and Zelmoda, two space bikers who turned their rivalry into a friendship. Through their friendship, a new gang was formed which the rough ones throughout the universe would gather together and have a good time together. TV STORY-Full Acceleration to Thunder Hell Among those who joined the gang was Zonnette, a busty beauty who was hiding her true royal heritage from them and the inventor Grotch.
One day, the innocent hooligan nature of the Bowzock would eventually turn dark and deadly when Gynamo received a mysterious fortune in the mail from fortune-teller Sugozue, telling him that he would gain luck through destroying planets. Taking these words to heart, Gynamo began to lead his forces into a new practice of marauding and destroying planets in line believing in the words of the fortune. TV STORY-Engine Stall On All Cars! Desperate Situation for the Giant Robo!! Their method is marauding the populace with chaos, looting the planet and then blowing it up in a firework-like explosion. They took down planet Hazard before going after the final planet on the list: Earth. However, the Bowzock find resistance in the form of the Carrangers: also, Bowzock members' incredible stupidity do not help the matter either.
Upon suffering defeat after defeat at the hands of Carrangers, Bowzock runs into financial problems and budget crisis (meaning Bowzock is unable to pay its members), resulting its members' desertion - along with that comes shortage of manpower. By episode 35, things have gotten drastically worsened from Bowzock's point of view, to the point no one on Earth takes Bowzock seriously. Then comes Exhaus, a scientist along with Grotch and Ritchihiker. An intelligent and competent figure, he managed to solve the problem of Bowzock's financial and manpower trouble quickly. It was puzzling as to why such a competent man would be in a group full of dimwits.
Truth[]
It was revealed that Exhaus had been manipulating Bowzock from the shadows. Intially percieved as a mundane and humble benefactor by the members of Bowzock, this was proved to be a facade as Exhaus is actually a very wicked and serious man, contradicting the humorous overall theme of Carrangers. His goal is to establish a universal freeway where there is no speed limit or traffic regulations. He had destroyed any planets that would potentially be obstacle to his ambition. Although Exhaus could have destroyed planets by himself, but he utilized and manipulated Bowzock because he did not want to dirty his hands. Because Bowzock launched pre-emptive attack on Earth, Exhaus had been merely observing the battle from the backseat. But with Bowzock's continuous defeats, he lost patience and decided to take matters into his own hands.
While Carrangers were distracted by battling Bowzock members, Exhaus seals away Carrangers' ability to transform by swallowing the five Star Cars. With that done, Exhaus saw no further use of the rest of Bowzock agents and attempted to wipe them out along with planet Earth by dropping the space station Barbarian on Earth's soil, but was thwarted by the effort of VRV Master and Signalman Police Koban.
Gynamo and other surviving Bowzocks, outraged by Exhaus' treachery, entrusts their headquarter Barbarian station to Carrangers, but Exhaus proved to be incredibly powerful as well, not just being intelligent; Exhaus absorbs all evil energies of the universe, evolves into bigger and stronger form, and handily defeats everything Carrangers throw at him. In the ensuing battle Carrangers' VRV and RV Robos are badly crippled.
Just as the triumph seems to be within an inch of Exhaus' grasp, Gynamos, remembering that eating spoiled foods will cause Bowzock to become smaller, somehow managed to deliver rotten sweet potato onto Exhaus' mouth just as he was about to deliver a final killing blow on Carrangers. As Gynamos predicted, eating rotten sweet potato caused Exhaus to revert to his original size and losing most of his superpowers. Refusing to see his ambition going down the drain, Exhaus continued to fight desperately, but he was soon finished off by Carrangers' Auto-Punisher and Crew Magic Attack combo attack, hurling the evil mastermind into outer space.
After the final battle Gynamo dissolved Bowzock, the remaining members formed a theater troupe and settled down on Earth, aiming to become famous musical stars (with an exception of Zonnette, who returned to her own homeworld). Fortunately for everyone, former Bowzock outlaws find that living on Earth in law-abiding life, is not so bad.
Later history[]
Los Dark[]
Several Combatant Wumpers were part of an army of past enemy grunts that were fought by the Gokaigers in Los Dark's ghost dimension which housed the 1500 spirits of the villains defeated by the Super Sentai. After losing some of their number in an initial skirmish, the remaining members from each grunt group merged to form the Combined Combatant. Though the stronger opponent, the Combined Combatant proved to be unstable due to internal conflicting among the grunts composing him over who got to finish the pirates off. Taking advantage, the Gokaigers used the Battle Fever J Ranger Keys to destroy the Combined Combatant with the Penta Force cannon. TV STORY-Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger the Movie: The Flying Ghost Ship
Video Game appearances[]
Gekiso Sentai Carranger: Zenkai! Racer Senshi[]
Space Bosozoku Bowzock appear as the villains of the video game Gekiso Sentai Carranger: Zenkai! Racer Senshi. The RV Mechas have been dismantled and their parts scattered all around, so it is up to the Carrangers to collect all the parts required to rebuild them, all the while fighting the Bowzock gang. The parts appear in the form of cogs and gears, and can only be obtained by striking various objects and killing off Wumpers along the way, among other forms (finding and getting an engine, for example, will give off ten parts). Each Mecha requires 50 parts to be rebuilt.
There are two possible endings depending on whether or not all five mecha were rebuilt. If they are, then the "good" ending is triggered. After Gynamo grows huge, RV Robo is formed and proceeds to battle Gynamo in the middle of the city. RV Robo than defeats Gynamo once and for all. If not, the "bad" ending will be triggered instead, where the Carranger are unable to form RV Robo. With no one to stop them, the Bowzock destroy Earth.
Behind the Scenes[]
The Space Bosozoku Bowzock took part in a Shocker plot to take over the world during a Children's Day 1996 stageshow, with Zelmoda being center stage. The plot was foiled by the combined force of several legendary heroes, including the Carranger, Kamen Rider, Ultraman and Godzilla.
