Hit and Break!? The Death-Defying Space Drive (当って砕けろ！？決死の宇宙ドライブ Atatte Kudakero!? Kesshi no Uchū Doraibu) is the forty-seventh episode of Gekiso Sentai Carranger. It is the second of the season's three-part endgame, featuring the surprising final fate of the Space Bosozoku Bowzock in relation both to the Carrangers and their boss, Reckless Dash Emperor Exhaus.
Synopsis[]
Without their Carmagic, the Carranger face their darkest hour while Exhaus reveals his final, true intention for the Bowzock and the destruction of Earth.
Plot[]
After being shot at by the Wumpers, Kyosuke tells the Carranger to flee as Gynamo tells them to pursue them mercilessly. The five return to the Pegasus Garage losing them and believing they can't be found in there. Minoru rushes to get some water, but the wall is suddenly attacked by Wumpers as Gynamo states it's not so easy to escape and orders another attack! The team fight through the garage trying to avoid the Wumpers and throwing them about as Kyosuke gets slashed in the arm bleeding. Dappu tells the team to follow him as the Bowzock continue pursuit; Grotch realizes they're at the Carranger base as Zelmoda skirts him out of the way slashing the doorknob and kicking it down. The Carranger continue to run as the alarms sound with the invasion and the team wonder what to do and the Wumpers set up bombs set to blow in 40 seconds! The team reach their main base as the Bowzock follow stating they're going to blow them up, telling the Wumpers to set more bombs before they all retreat. Dappu worries about this being as the end as the team screams and the bombs go off, destroying the headquarters and with it the entire Pegasus Garage, shocking even Ichitaro and Signalman from a distance!
At the remnants of the garage, Ichitaro wonders how this could happen and states his father will be sad this happened. Signalman discovers a bloody license plate, making him and the boy worry about the Carranger's fate as it begins to rain. Ichitaro yells out for the Carranger as Signalman states they can't die without his permission!
On the Baribarian, Gynamo and his partners return to the saloon stating that if they get serious, defeating even the Carranger is easy and they will now finally blow up "Earsh" like a firework! But as they enter, they discover their minions...suddenly surrounded by bags of garbage! Gynamo wonders what's happening and Zelmoda wonders how all this garbage got there and Grotch complains of the smell. Exhaus congratulates the Bowzock as Gynamo wonders what's going on as the space leader states that starting today, the Baribarian is a "space garbage dump", shocking the Bowzock leader as Exhaus proclaims that with the Carranger gone, the Bowzock are no longer needed and they're being tossed away like garbage. Gynamo complains that Exhaus just used them as much as he wanted and is now merely throwing them away and tells him to not treat them like garbage; but Exhaus states "they ARE garbage", further angering Gynamo as the leader zaps them and sets the garbage on fire, making the entire saloon burn quickly! Exhaus states this is his "recycling plan": sending the Baribarian while it's on fire to crash into "Earsh", it's burning energy blowing the planet up into a firework!
As the rain subsides, Ichitaro and Signalman continue searching the Pegasus remnants for the Carranger calling out for them. Ichitaro tears up as he stands in the ruins as Signalman discovers some stairs, heading down into the remnant of the base continuing to yell out for them. However, Ichitaro soon sees VRV Master rise from within the base...with the Carranger, the team meeting up with the crying Ichitaro worried that they were dead, but Kyosuke calls him stupid for thinking that. Signalman wonders how they survived as VRV Master merely states "justice will always survive"; he expected something like this would happen and developed an underground shelter during Dappu's hibernation; Signalman wonders who he is as VRV Master states he and Dappu are survivors of planet Hazard which was turned into fireworks by Exhaus' dark desire; and with the Carmagic Power stolen from the Carranger, he desires blowing Earth like a firework as well. VRV Master reveals Exhaus sealed the source of Carmagic Power, the five legendary constellations, within his body, surprising the team. But the team are stopped as they hear the Baribarian's approach of Earth, the Bowzock rushing to try and put out the burning flames in their base! Dappu orders the Carranger to go out, but Kyosuke relents that they can't transform and wonders how they'll fight. The team adds that without Carmagic Power, they can't fight or win and wonder if fighting for justice was too much for them to begin with, merely with them the means to cry. Signalman states that "those who lose courage have no right to fight" and that he will protect "Earsh" himself, heading off.
The Baribarian plummets towards Earth as the Bowzock finish putting the fire out, but Zelmoda worries about their base's controls; the president asks Grotch how he's doing; the small alien states they're moving too fast and he can't stop the impact, shocking them! Without warning, Sirender appears as the base plummets, forcing Signalman to grab it to stop the plummet no matter what it takes. The force of the satellite becomes too much for Sirender as the officer wonders if he'll be crushed as it flies over the city and Gynamo tells everyone to evacuate; Signalman loses control as the Baribarian crashes, the Bowzock barely escaping with their lives. But as they emerge, Signalman tells them he doesn't know what they're up to but the Bowzock forces are all under arrest! Gynamo orders the Bowzock after him as he fights off the remnants; while in space, Exhaus wonders why "Earsh" isn't a firework yet and states he will do it himself.
Ichitaro looks at the team, Kyosuke telling him to not stare at them as the kid states the Carranger are gone but they live on in his heart as he shows off his pic of the team. The team realizes this as Dappu states that the meaning of this is deep, heavy and hard as the team wonders the meaning of being a "Carranger in the heart" and remembering their trials and the battles they fought throughout: Kyosuke vs. ZZ Gyuri, Naoki vs. LL Onene, Minoru vs. YY Gonza, Natsumi vs. OO Oopa, and Yoko vs. PP Rappa. Kyosuke realizes that even if they can't transform, they are Carranger in their hearts, chanting they are Carranger in their hearts as they decide to head into battle; Dappu telling them to believe in the Carrangers in their hearts.
Signalman continues to fight the Bowzock as Gynamo wonders why they're having a hard time against Signalman and tells them to finish it up. However the Carranger soon rush in, Gynamo is surprised they're still alive as Kyosuke states that even if they can't transform, they are still Carranger in their hearts. Gynamo has no idea what it means as the team tell Signalman to stand back and leave it to them. The five charge into battle, fighting against the Bowzock remnants with their abilities as best as they can despite problems and even preventing Signalman from intervening in their fighting with their heart. The five use their teamwork to beat up on the Bowzock threat until Kyosuke is punched away by Gynamo, who states they will now show off the true power of the Bowzock!
However as Gynamo attacks, the team are protected by an aurora-like shield, revealed to be emitted by the Fanbelt Crystal from the restored Vanity Mirror Fanbelt! As Gynamo yells for Zonnette, Vanity Mirror states they're fighting the wrong threat, surprising them as she wonders if they already forgot what Exhaus told them and that the entire universe heard his declaration of the Bowzock as garbage! Embarrassed, Gynamo finally declares that the Bowzock's true enemy is Exhaus! Gynamo asks "Carranger of their hearts" and Signalman the surprising idea that they'd be friends from here on out, Zelmoda stating that yesterday's enemy is today's ally. The Carranger are shocked, but Vanity Mirror states they need to work with the Bowzock to stop Exhaus, who will ruin the entire universe if not! The Carranger show doubts but as Vanity Mirror kisses Kyosuke on the cheek, he finally decides to work with the Bowzock to stop Exhaus! Signalman and the Bowzock wonder how that's even possible to stop Exhaus as Red Racer states there's only one way: crash into Exhaus with the Baribarian, Gynamo realizing that if the blow a hole into the giant, it will be revenge for making the Bowzock into a laughing stock! But before he can do it, Kyosuke knocks Gynamo out stating the Carranger will do it, the former villains wonder why they're doing this despite being friends, but the team states they need to defeat Gynamo to retake their Carmagic Power. At Kyosuke's order, they head off as Signalman and Vanity Mirror worry and Gynamo complains.
As the five humans storm the Baribarian, they activate the base and re-launch it as Dappu, Ichitaro and VRV Master join them and the Hazardian alien wonder if they'll be alright. The five Carranger fly the Baribarian upwards into space as Exhaus approaches Earth laughing, leading to their inevitable final showdown...
