Allister is a character appearing in the Sword & Shield Chapter of Pokémon Adventures.

Appearance[]

This section, or a part of it, has been transcluded from Allister; any changes involving it should be made there instead. /

Allister is a short and slender young boy with pale skin and purple eyes. His black hair is fairly short, but with a few long strands in the front and a long curved cowlick at the back. On his face is a white mask with large holes for his eyes and mouth with motifs that looks similar to Corsola's motifs on the sides. His outfit consists of a long-sleeved black shirt and shorts. Around the ends of the sleeves are rings of light purple— a pair on each one, and on the right sleeve is the Galar league symbol. His shirt has a purple and gold upside-down triangle on the front with a black and gold spirit-like shape in the middle. This same symbol also re-appears on his right pant leg. Around the neck of the shirt are two light purple collar folds. His shorts and shirt share a light purple dot-like pattern, and on the left pant leg are two symbols — the numbers "291" and green Xs. Extending from Allister's upper waist to his shoulders are two white suspenders, reuniting behind him in a Cursola's face intersection and on his left hand is a purple glove with black fingertips. On his feet are white and black shoes with ruffles on the top.

Personality[]

In spite of being entitled as a Gym Leader at his young age, Allister is exceedingly introverted, shy, soft-spoken and bashful, hence always wearing a mask to conceal his face when he's around other people. He prefers spending his time alone in ruins and cemeteries, rather than making public appearances.

Biography[]

Sword & Shield arc[]

Allister faced Sou in a Gym Battle in Stow-on-Side. As the battle began, Allister sent Yamask to battle Sou's Lancyn. However, the latter quickly defeated it with a Solar Blade. Not wanting to upset his fans, despite wanting to go home, Allister sent a Cursola. His Cursola managed to paralyze Lancyn, due to the latter hitting its rock. Sou swapped Lancyn with Fannyn, who evaded Cursola's rock and defeated it with Foul Play. Allister muttered he was lonely, having only one final Pokémon left. He sent a Gengar, whom he had Gigantamaxed. To prevent Sou from switching, Gigantamax Gengar used G-Max Terror. Sou was not planning on switching Fannyn anyway, and Dynamaxed it. Sou swore to defeat Gigantamax Gengar, to which Allister wanted him to back his words up.[1]

Allister continued the battle, having Gigantamax Gengar use Max Ooze, damaging Dynamax Oranguru a bit. Due to Gigantamax Gengar's presence, Sou saw a vision of his master—his father—motivating him to do better. As Allister had Gigantamax Gengar repeat its attack, Dynamax Oranguru used Max Guard to protect itself. At this point, Gigantamax Gengar, having used three moves already, reverted to its original form and was quickly defeated by Max Darkness. Allister realized he should show some sportsmanship, and congratulated Sou. Sou thanked Allister, who felt he should've made a more dramatic speech to him to congratulate him. Allister went with his Gengar, standing on the latter to see Professor Magnolia's Sinistea and Polteageist in her motorhome. Allister admired the two Pokémon, and wondered if he could contact the professor, fearing her backlash if she would refuse.

Schilly and Marvin came, wondering what Allister was doing, to which the latter became startled. Suddenly, the group felt tremors, and Allister went to the mural. Using Chairman Rose's Copperajah, Bede had it attack the Stow-on-Side's mural, finding some Wishing Stars in it. Allister asked of him to stop, but Bede didn't hear him because of his quiet tone, to which Schilly yelled out at him. Bede refused to stop, stating he was here on behalf of Chairman Rose. However, Oleana and her assistants came, the latter binding Bede, and Chairman Rose arrived to the scene as well. The group then watched as Rose punished Bede, revoking his Gym Challenge endorsement.[2] Schilly later challenged Allister, and her Kilo used Bite to defeat his Gengar.

Allister went into Magnolia's motorhome, wanting to meet her Sinistea and Polteageist. However, he panicked and hid inside Schilly's Ball Guy costume. However, he was too uncertain, and muttered "Antique Show". When the motorhome stopped, Allister stormed out on his Gengar, leaving others to repair the motorhome. Schilly went to catch up to him, as he wanted to catch Polteageist and Sinistea, but instead found a wounded Dreepy. Schilly believed this was where his "antique show" was held. Suddenly, the two heard a low noise, to which the two believed to be from a Toxtricity, and Schilly hoped that to be her Tera. Allister, inside his head, thought that all Toxtricity made this sound, but Schilly pointed out that only her Tera made that specific drum-like sound. Allister became surprised, as he did not say his words out loud, thinking Schilly was a mind-reader. Since it was dark, Allister pushed a mushroom to illuminate the area.

Allister and Schilly saw Tera chasing a Dreepy, and the former would not stop until it defeated the latter. In truth, Tera was chasing a Drakloak, to which Dreepy attached itself onto, and did not listen to Schilly's commands, and Drakloak was too strong for Tera. When the mushroom's light wore off, Schilly prevented Allister from illuminating the area, for Tera had the advantage here: Tera glew in the dark and provoked Drakloak into fighting it, only for Tera to fire Snarl to defeat it. Allister congratulated Schilly for finding Tera, and smiled, seeing that Schilly's voice made Tera come back to its senses. Schilly thanked him, to which Allister became upset for he never really told that sentence out loud. Schilly admitted that she simply noted Allister's body language, just like she would notice it on Pokémon.

Allister turned to Drakloak, and used his Poké Ball to catch it. Schilly started to wonder whether the challengers had to wait for Allister. The latter muttered there was someone else, to which Schilly believed he meant Bea with that. Allister started thinking he should use pantomime to communicate, to which Schilly admitted she just read the notice on the webpage. He still apologized having Schilly to wait for his challenge, but Schilly nevertheless wanted to challenge him. She turned to Allister, asking him about his antique show, which made him confused.[3] Team Yell grunts heard that Allister was not at Stow-on-Side stadium, where Marnie was forced to battle Bea instead. Thus, they went to attack Allister and Schilly, who were in Glimwood Tale. Marnie arrived soon after, and scolded the grunts, then went with the group to Ballonlea for their next Gym match.[4]

Allister answered to the Gym Leaders' call about Chairman Rose's questionable activities. He met up with Bea, Gordie and Melony at Rose Tower, and were joined by Piers, Hop, Marnie, Henry Sword and Casey. Piers gasped, seeing Gordie and Melony reunited, to which Allister smiled, since it was a while that they made up with each other. After being joined by Kabu and Milo, the group heard a battle raging from the tower. Inside, they found Bede and Opal confronting Oleana, who refused to move, as Chairman Rose was not present. Oleana, seeing that they would not leave, sent her Pokémon to stop them, and in that moment, the group came in as well, sending their Pokémon to battle. Allister pointed to the elevator, so the group went in to reach the top floor. With Chairman Rose unleashing the Darkest Day in Hammerlocke, the Pokémon of Wyndon were Dynamaxed, and this caused people to panic. In order to go to Hammerlocke, the group was picked up by Professor Magnolia, who rode away in her motorhome.[5]

Allister was in the motorhome heading to Hammerlocke, which, due to a collapsed bridge, took a bumpy ride on the railway. On the way, he heard that some of the Trainers required assistance in battling Dynamaxed Pokémon. He wanted Bea to go in his stead, but she explained she was too inexperienced to take on giant Pokémon all by herself. Piers proposed that they both go, and promised they would call them if they would need help. Thus, Allister remained behind in the motorhome, as Magnolia drove them away.[6] Having received word that Macro Cosmos' employees were sent to deal with Dynamaxed Pokémon in Galar cities, Allister decided with the rest of the Gym Leaders to return to Hammerlocke to provide support. The motorhome rode away, but stopped when a blast struck a hole in the road.[7]

Allister and the rest arrived to Hammerlocke, when they witnessed a bright flash coming from the rooftop. When they came to the top, they saw everyone having fallen unconscious, so they had called a medical team to take them to Hammerlocke hospital. There, Allister and Bea discussed with others how they couldn't find Henry Sword, and that traces of Eternatus, Zacian and Zamazenta had disappeared.[8]
