Startled by Buela pulling her out of her makeshift cocoon, Tater initially reacted with a shout before realizing it was just her grandmother.

To her surprise, the room suddenly fell silent. Tater peeked out to find only LotLot, engrossed in a tea party with her doll, Dolly. LotLot confided that the other cousins were terrified of Dolly and avoided her. Sensing an opportunity, Tater persuaded LotLot to let her watch over Dolly while LotLot mingled with the cousins, echoing Buela's earlier advice.

She then seen Dolly's 8-Ball eye stare at her ominously saying "I See You", Tater panicked and stowed Dolly in the closet. Returning to her diary, Tater was startled by a chilling voice pleading, "Let me out." Terrified, she fled to join the cousins in the living room, where she caught a glimpse of Dolly's reflection on the TV screen, though no one else seemed to notice.

There, Tater confessed that Buela might have been right about the curse, prompting Buela to prepare to rid Tater of the supposed curse with a torch, amid swirling smoke.

This comment angers the primos, who shout at her for "disrespecting Cake Island." Feeling dejected, Tater crouches down beside the couch to work on her vision board but is saddened to see it nearly blank, even a few days into summer vacation.
As she glances at the TV, she notices an ad for BizKid Magazine, which features kids under the age of 10 accomplishing outstanding things. Inspired, Tater decides to learn 10 new skills in a week to get featured in the magazine. She asks one of her cousins to lend her a phone, but they respond by throwing pillows at her. Pop approaches her, offering a drink and advising her to take a breath, explaining that staying hydrated helps him avoid rash decisions. Tater, realizing she needs to use the bathroom, agrees to head home, understanding that the stunt was too dangerous.

Fortunately, Cousin Bud comes to her rescue, sharing his wisdom on coexisting with nature rather than trying to control it. Under his guidance, Tater begins to appreciate the outdoors, making friends with the local wildlife and constructing a proper shaded area to keep cool. Feeling a newfound connection to the world around her, Tater finds peace and comfort in her outdoor setup, even as Cousin Bud decides to try sleeping inside at Buela’s house for a change.

Rather than feeling embarrassed, Tater names the zit Penelope Amelie Mariana, or Pam for short, and embraces it as a symbol of her growing maturity and womanhood. She proudly flaunts Pam, believing it marks a new chapter in her life. However, her primos have mixed reactions when they see it. The T Sisters, ever concerned with appearances, urge Tater to hide it with her hair, while LotLot offers to cover it with makeup. Big Nacho and Nachito, both obsessed with popping zits, are eager to get rid of Pam, with Big Nacho lamenting his own zit-free soft skin. ChaCha, ever curious, simply wants to touch Pam. Although Tater doesn’t see the need to change anything, she gives up on trying to avoid the primos help and decides to listen to their suggestions after having some self doubt.
The T Sisters’ attempt to give Tater a new hairstyle ends in disaster, with their lack of skill evident in the botched haircut. LotLot’s makeup application only worsens the situation, causing Pam to swell and become even more prominent. Tater’s day takes a chaotic turn as Big Nacho and Nachito chase her around, determined to pop Pam, while ChaCha climbs all over her in an effort to get a feel of the zit. In a bid to regain control, Tater decides to embrace Pam by going outside and flaunting her "maturity." However, her neighbor, the Skid, immediately mocks her, as does a passing stranger, making Tater feel self-conscious about her appearance for the first time.
Disheartened, Tater tries to get her primos’ help, but they’ve gone to the movies, leaving her to face her insecurities alone. She covers her face with a mask, feeling defeated. Lita arrives and, sensing something is wrong, asks Tater why she’s hiding. Tater confides in Lita, admitting that she’s afraid to show Pam. Lita, understanding and supportive, reveals that she, too, has a couple of zits hidden under her hair and is proud of them. She encourages Tater to focus not on how she looks, but on how she chooses to present herself to the world.

When the other primos come searching for Tater, Nellie keeps the crawl space a secret, further solidifying their bond.
Sibling Bonding
As Tater continues her summer journey, she finds herself longing for support, particularly from Nellie, who seems preoccupied with her own pursuits. Outside, Nachito is busy trying to emulate his older brother, Big Nacho, seeking validation in every little thing he does. However, Big Nacho grows increasingly frustrated with Nachito’s idolization and sends him on a “quest” to fetch a “dino egg” from the coop—actually just a chicken egg. Tater, sensing that Nachito is heading into dangerous territory with the notoriously aggressive Jean-Cluck van Fried, steps in to save him.
When Tater confronts Jean-Cluck, she showcases her bravery and resourcefulness, rescuing Nachito just in time. This act of heroism leads to Nachito idolizing Tater, seeing her as a role model. However, Tater soon realizes that while she’s trying to support Nachito, she also needs to tackle her own feelings of being overlooked in her family. She approaches Nachito for advice on how to take on various tasks, but he naively encourages her to do them all, leading to humorous complications.
Meanwhile, Nellie has been pushing Big Nacho to his limits, resulting in his increasing misery. The tension builds until Tater and Big Nacho confront each other, both demanding their siblings back. This leads to a heart-to-heart where Big Nacho admits he’s been too harsh on Nachito, expressing how much he values their bond. When Nachito comes looking for Tater, she proposes a playful “duel” to reclaim his affection.
The duel pits Tater and Big Nacho against each other in a race to retrieve the biggest egg from Jean-Cluck. As Tater distracts the chicken, Big Nacho manages to grab the egg, but it unexpectedly hatches, sending the chickens into a frenzy. Tater’s quick thinking helps them evade the chaos, and in a touching moment, Nachito compliments the chickens, calming them and bringing peace back to the coop.
El Patín
Tater is on a mission to find her latest issue of Romancimorphs Magazine when she stumbles upon an ad for auditions for "Romancimorphs on Ice." Inspired, she envisions herself as an "Ice-Tater," a professional ice skater, despite Nellie’s teasing. Determined to pursue this dream, Tater heads to the ice rink, but it quickly becomes clear that she lacks skating skills. While struggling on the ice, she becomes captivated by a muscular, masked skater known as El Patín, who seems to glide effortlessly.
Intrigued, Tater tracks down El Patín and discovers that he is actually Scooter, a cousin who has been hiding his skating talent under a costume due to insecurity. Tater’s support and encouragement lead Scooter to open up about his passion for skating. In a heartwarming turn, Tater promises to keep his secret while asking him to train her. Together, they work hard, and Tater is amazed when Scooter reveals that he made his costume himself, further cementing their bond.
As they prepare for the audition, Tater and Scooter become a dazzling duo, wowing the crowd with their performance. However, during a key move, Scooter’s mask comes off, leaving him momentarily frozen with fear. Tater, ever the supportive cousin, removes her own mask and encourages him to continue. Their teamwork pays off, and they finish strong, earning a perfect score. Unfortunately, Tater learns she is too young for the auditions, but her confidence remains unshaken. She reassures Scooter that they can try again next time, showing her resilience and ability to uplift others.
Chisme
While working on her vision board, Tater is suddenly drawn into the T Sisters’ gossip party. Despite her imaginary motivator, Vision Tiger, advising her to stay focused, Tater is tempted to join them, thinking it could help her hone her journalistic skills. Donning a suit, she sneaks down to eavesdrop on the T Sisters, only to realize they are speaking in Spanish. Feeling out of the loop, she recruits Nachito to help translate, but their efforts are quickly discovered, and Tater admits her desire to be part of the group.
The T Sisters set a challenge for Tater: she must find a piece of gossip they haven’t heard yet. Eager to impress, Tater sets off on a mission to uncover juicy tidbits. She learns of Big Nacho’s romantic pen pal, LotLot’s numerous cake boyfriends, and even Nachito’s confession that he’s never hit a piñata. However, each revelation is met with disappointment as the T Sisters already know these stories. Tater is left feeling isolated and perplexed, realizing her cousins have enjoyed summer adventures without her.
In a reflective moment, Vision Tiger helps Tater see that her desire for gossip stems from a deeper longing for connection. After overhearing Pop mumble about "Agent Guapo" in his sleep, Tater seizes the opportunity to fabricate an exciting story about him being a secret agent. The T Sisters are initially impressed but soon press for more details, prompting Tater to contemplate using her journal for real stories. Eventually, she concedes that she wants to connect with her cousins without needing to provide gossip. The T Sisters assure her that she doesn’t need to bring news to hang out, much to Tater’s relief.
