Melissa Villaseñor is a Mexican-American actress and voice actress.

Villaseñor was born in Whittier, California, in Los Angeles County, on October 9, 1987. Her parents, Guadalupe "Lupe" Peralta and Miguel "Michael" Humberto Villaseñor, are of Mexican descent. She has a diverse heritage that includes Spanish, Basque, and indigenous Mexican roots, with family ties to Jalisco and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Notably, she also possesses 2% Sub-Saharan African DNA. Villaseñor shares a genetic connection with director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, as revealed during an episode of Finding Your Roots, which also explored actor Mario Lopez's Mexican ancestry. She attended the Catholic Ramona Convent Secondary School in Alhambra, California, and briefly studied at Fullerton College. Villaseñor discovered her passion for comedy at the young age of 15, performing stand-up at the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp in Hollywood. She has done work on Disney's Amphibia, Cartoon Network's Adventure Time, and more.
