The Chameleon is a major antagonist in the 2014 superhero video game The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

He is a criminal known for literally stealing people’s identities and successfully impersonating them. He is also Kingpin’s secret right hand man and friend.

He was voiced by Glenn Steinbaum.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Helped Kingpin in his schemes, by experimenting on many Ravencroft inmates such as Cletus Kassady, indirectly leading to both his rise to power and the Carnage Symbiote developing a mind of it’s own.
  • Alongside Kingpin, presumably killed the real Donald Menken and the 11 other people he is indirectly confirmed to have been impersonating.
  • Helping Kingpin to screw Harry over.
  • It the one whom directly allowed doctors and scientists to experiment on Max Dillon (Electro). He even, allowed them to purposefully manipulate and trick Max into thinking they would be his friend. He is also confirmed to do this to other prisoners. Even Electro, calls Chameleon a bad man for all the horrible things he did.
  • Tried to lie to Spider-Man by claiming that everything he was doing was trying to cure mental illness.
  • While he does directly help Spider-Man identify how to defeat Cletus, it’s only pragmatic so that he can be allowed to be freed by Spider-Man and get back to Fisk as quick as possible.
  • Shows no care for the damage him and Fisk indirectly caused.
  • It’s worth noting, that he ruined people’s initial good opinion of Menken, a good example being with Max whom initially respected the original Menken who after the experiments, sees Menken as a bad man. Unaware that it’s actually Chameleon in disguise.
  • Unlike Fisk who sees Chameleon as his friend, there is no proof that he cares for Fisk back.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Most of his crimes are on Kingpin’s orders, making him fail the standards to him. But considering that he can do stuff on his own like manipulating prisoners into thinking he is their friend, when in reality he is torturing them (a prime example being with how he treats Cletus and how he had Doctors behave around Electro), this is a minor prevention.
