Rachel Bloom is an American actress, comedian, singer, writer, producer, songwriter, and mental health activist. In My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, she provides the voice of Autumn Blaze in the season eight episode Sounds of Silence.
The news of Bloom's appearance on the series was teased by a fan-run Twitter account for Disney Television Animation,[1] which was retweeted by story editor Nicole Dubuc and later by Bloom herself. Bloom's role in the series was officially confirmed when she appeared as a secret special guest during the My Little Pony panel at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con.
Outside My Little Pony, Bloom is best known as a co-creator, lead actress, and executive producer for The CW musical comedy-drama series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She first rose to fame in 2010 for the Hugo Award-nominated YouTube music video "**** Me, Ray Bradbury". She also provided vocals as Princess Peach to the 2013 Starbomb song "Luigi's Ballad", co-written by Dan Avidan and Brian Wecht of Ninja Sex Party and Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson.
In other acting and voice acting, Bloom has had recurring or minor roles in How I Met Your Mother, BoJack Horseman, The Simpsons, and the 2018 version of Muppet Babies. In 2017, she starred in an Emmy Award-nominated episode of Bill Nye Saves the World. She co-starred in the comedy thriller film Most Likely to Murder, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in March 2018. In 2019, she voiced Silver in the film The Angry Birds Movie 2. In 2020, she voiced Queen Barb in the film Trolls World Tour.
In writing, Bloom has worked as a television writer on Allen Gregory and Robot Chicken.
