Mario Baseball

Wario Palace is a baseball stadium owned by Wario in Mario Superstar Baseball. In the sequel, Mario Super Sluggers, Wario instead has Wario City as his baseball stadium.

Description[]

Wario Palace takes place within a golden palace in the desert. In Challenge Mode, Wario Palace is shown to be near the Bowser Castle stadium. The field has two gimmicks: two Chain Chomps, tethered at the upper-left and upper-right ends of the stadium respectively, and two Cyclone Generators, which originally appeared in Wario World. The Chain Chomps are usually asleep, but if they are awake, the Chain Chomps attempt to lunge at any fielder next to it. If an fielder is hit by a Chain Chomp, they get stunned for a few seconds. If a baseball goes flying toward a Chain Chomp, it also moves toward it. If a baseball goes flying toward a Cyclone Generator, a whirlwind surrounds the Cyclone Generator for a few seconds, during which the baseball moves around within it before being launched into a random direction.

Aside from Chain Chomps and Cyclone Generators, Wario Palace also has some star-shaped dunes in the sand, and whenever the batter hits a baseball onto one, their team earns a Team Star.

Given its architecture, the palace just outside the boundaries of stadium itself is possibly based on the Taj Mahal. The palace's landmark feature is a giant gold statue of Wario's head, which has two light green gemstones for eyes and a cap that more closely resembles a turban than Wario's usual cap. The giant Wario head is placed on a rectangular structure with a large 'W' on the front, surrounded by purple flags and a smaller statue of Wario made entirely from gold. The structure is surrounded by four pillars placed near each corner, and the two pillars in the front have a flag depicting Wario's emblem near the tip. Two giant torches are next to the pillars, each having a flame on the top. The background also has a few small palm trees and some purple flags depicting a golden Wario head.

Wario Stadium is where the minigame Chain Chomp Sprint takes place. Here, characters run around the home plate to collect Jewels while avoiding a Chain Chomp in the center.
