Goomba King's Fortress is a very small fortress and a location that appears in Paper Mario.

History[]

It is the home to the Goomba King and his two underlings, Red Goomba and Blue Goomba. This Fortress is at the end of Goomba Road where the bridge leading to Toad Town should be. After Mario defeats Red Goomba and Blue Goomba, they will run off to the Fortress and inform the Goomba King that Mario defeated them. This castle/fortress is arguably the smallest castle/fortress in the game.

Once Mario approaches the Fortress, the Goomba King comes out and engages in battle with Mario. After his defeat, Mario and Goombario overhear the Goomba King talking to Red Goomba about the switch to open up the bridge.

After hearing of the switch's location, Mario must go around to the side of the Fortress to strike the switch.

If Mario strikes the tree outside of the fortress with his Hammer, a Star Piece will fall out of it.

Trivia[]

• Goomba King's Fortress is considered to be quite small to be even considered a fortress especially when compared to how large the Goomba King is. This is because, according to Goombario, the Goomba King himself used to be smaller in size before Bowser made him bigger with the Star Rod, so it makes sense the castle as well made to accommodate the Goomba King's original height.
