Augments

This article is about a race of monsters in Shin Kamen Rider.

The Non-human Synthetic Hybrid Augments (人外合成型オーグメント, Jingai Gōsei-gata Ōgumento), commonly known as the Aug (オーグ, Ōgu), are monsters created by Shocker from the biological modification of humans with the Prana of different creatures.

History[]

The Augments are a general term for Shocker's remodeled humans. The executive members are distinguished by their masks adorned with glowing, monster-like eyes. When assuming their Augment form, their appearance undergoes significant changes, with facial patterns emerging and parts of their faces tearing apart, resulting in a deformed figure. The masks worn by Augments, particularly Kamen Riders, fulfill multiple purposes - acting as protective gear, concealing their true identity, and even serving as a brainwashing tool with drug-like effects that suppress any aversion to killing.

Both physical enhancement and brainwashing techniques rely on Prana manipulation. Nonetheless, these methods come with a notable drawback as they exert immense strain on the user's mind. In intense battles, excessive Prana usage can render the Prana-augmented body unsustainable, potentially leading to the user's demise if their body reaches its limits.

List of Augment[]

• Synthetic Insect-Hybrid Augment (昆虫合成型オーグメント, Konchū Gōsei-gata Ōgumento): Augments developed by the Midorikawa Group. Insects were chosen as both them and humans are the most evolved species on the planet.
• Non-human Infused Augment (人外融合型オーグメント, Jingai Yūgō-gata Ōgumento): Augments such as Kumo-Aug and Koumori-Aug are permanent fusions of human and animal prana, and are incapable of returning to human form.
• Tri-species Synthetic Hybrid Augment (３種合成型オーグメント, San-Shu Gōsei-gata Ōgumento): Hybrids with two different species developed by Angels of Death group.
