Aikawa's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR (CP9A), known as the Lan Evo, or as the Evo V, is the signature vehicle of Aikawa, the uphill driver for a Tsuchisaka based Lancer Evolution racing team.
History[]
Aikawa, along with his friend Ichijo, aim to battle against Project D to promote a car shop they are associated with, by any means necessary. When Project D travel to Tsuchisaka, they make sure the practices are split equally between the teams, taking advantage of this to spill oil on the road. This oil spill causes Keisuke Takahashi to crash his FD3S into a guardrail, however Takumi Fujiwara's AE86 is unharmed, as Keisuke manages to get the word out to the rest of the team. The crash prevents Keisuke from being able to use his car, something that Aikawa goads him about, Aikawa also refuses to allow the team to reschedule the battle in an attempt to make the team automatically forfeit, as they dont have a backup car. Much to Aikawa's annoyance, Keisuke is able to race when Kyoko Iwase allows him to use her car in the battle.
Aikawa starts the battle in the lead, with Keisuke trailing behind, adjusting to the car. Aikawa keeps his lead for most of the racing, feeling safe that his car is one of the fastest cars on the market. Keisuke and Aikawa enter a narrow part of the course side by side, with Aikawa pulling back, believing he would have crashed otherwise when in reality they both could have fit through.
Specs[]
The car is a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR[1], chassis code CP9A. It is painted in Scotia White. In the Arcade Stage games, it is depicted as a Lancer Evolution V RS.
Engine[]
The Evo V is fitted with a 4G63T, a turbocharged engine. The cars actual output is unknown, but a stock model could produce 280PS.
