Over the course of the series, Jak had gone over changes in hair style, physical size and structure, and often has a drive for action and he is often there when the world needs him the most. With the utilization of both powers of Light and Dark Eco and a variety of weapons at his disposal, Jak will use them to fight on the side of good. He is best friends with Daxter and the main love interest of Keira Hagai.

His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy[]
- When he and Daxter were cornered by the Lurkers on Misty Island, Jak had to throw the dark eco canister at it, killing it. Given that the Jak in this game is innocent and courageous and not yet the type of person he becomes in the sequel, it was out of self-defense and his knocking Daxter into the Dark Eco Silo during the explosion was purely accidental and he expressed worry for Daxter when it happened.
- Jak, with a noble heart, helps out various citizens he meets with their dilemmas, and it return received Power Cells as a reward for his deeds.
- He rescued the four Sages, who have been abducted by Gol and Maia since they were being used to power the Precursor Robot against their wills and it would have spelled disaster if Jak didn't intervene.
- He also defeated the twisted siblings with the use of Light Eco and destroyed their robot, preventing the silos from opening all the way.
Jak II[]
- Jak barely manages to stop himself from attacking Daxter during his first transformation into Dark Jak, given that he has yet to learn to keep his dark powers in check.
- He joined forces with the Underground Resistance group and performs various feats to make the people of Haven City's lives much more bearable in the midst of a totalitarian reign of a dictator.
- Jak reconciles with Keira after their falling out before the second race and participates in the third race.
- He escorted the child (the younger version of himself) to the Power Station while keeping the Krimzon Guards away from him, which Praxis had taken an interest to. During this escort Jak took special offense at the Krimzon Guards for attacking a small child and repeatedly calls them out on it while fending them off.
- He was able to talk some sense into the baron's daughter Ashelin when she distrusted him, and Vin confirms that her father intended on cracking open the Precursor Stone with a piercer bomb to destroy the Metal Head Nest, but what really will happen is that breaking the stone will destroy the entire planet, which caused Ashelin to realize what Baron Praxis is doing is wrong.
- Jak is able to rescue the Underground members after Torn was forced to give them away after Praxis threatened to kill his own daughter if he didn't and protected the base from the stalking robotic bombs.
- Jak had befriended Sig, who joined him on various missions and even mourned his apparent death at the hands of a giant Metal-pede.
- After Kor reveals himself as the Metal Head leader known as Metal Kor, the beast managed to mortally harm the Baron and the latter tells him of a weapon that can crack it open before succumbing to his wounds. Jak would then use the stone and properly used the weapon with it to break it open without needing to destroy the stone.
- Jak defeated Metal Kor and saved his younger self and he and his friends resolved to stay in the future while the child is brought to the past with the Shadow, (Young Samos) and the Rift Gate was destroyed in the process.
- When he says good-bye to his younger self, he tells him not to play around with any wumpbee nests on his ninth birthday.
- Jak was thoroughly relieved to see that Sig is alive and well and was still in disbelief that the little boy was actually him, which states that he misses him.
- In this game, Jak had only wanted to get revenge on Praxis for putting him through so much agony in the Dark Warrior Progam, he eventually learns to keep his dark power under control, and he still retains his humor when he is in his better moods and his motivation turned into a matter of helping out the oppressed folks, especially after learning of a sinister plan regarding the Precursor Stone. He still cares for others overall despite his drastic change in personality.
Jak 3[]
- Jak saves several Wastelanders who were missing in the desert and brings them to the shelters to survive the harsh sandstorms.
- He was unwilling to kill Sig during a fighting tournament and in the end he never did even though it would result in Damas punishing both of them.
- He constantly protects Spargus City from various Metal Head Beasts and much later, the extra-terrestrial Dark Makers, which would allow Jak to be officially welcomed into the city by its leader, Damas.
- Despite not wanting to return to Haven City due to being looked down upon by the townsfolk and exiled from the settlement, he does eventually change his mind and returned to the city to help them out.
- Upon gaining the ability to utilize Light Eco to become Light Jak, he is much less prone to anger and became noticeably mellower than he was in Jak II.
- He helped the former Underground members and the Freedom League (the improved successors of the Krimzon Guard) protect the city from various enemies.
- He had fought Cyber Errol, at the factory.
- He saved Seem from a Dark Maker invasion at the Precursor Temple where he learned from her that the Day Star is actually a Dark Maker Ship and it was likely coming to destroy their world.
- After Damas is fatally wounded, Jak was shocked and upon learning at the last moment that Damas was actually his father, and was devastated over it and when Veger confesses to being a part of a conspiracy that had Damas, who was a ruler of Haven City before being usurped by Baron Praxis, and only told him at the last moment that Jak and Damas had a familial connection and callously taunts this fact, Jak was furious and it was one of the few times where his rage is actually understandable given that not only did Veger do that, but he was also responsible for destroying the Palace just so he can gain access to the catacombs and pinned the blame on Jak since he was there when it happened. Jak then pursues him.
- After the Planetary Defence System activates and destroys the Dark Maker Ship, Jak pursues the terraformer and Cyber Errol where he manages to defeat both of them. Before that, because it fell into the Wasteland, Jak was determined to save Spargus City and the world, for Damas’ sake.
- At the end of the game, Jak seems to join the Precursors to tour the universe, but he chose to stay and tells Daxter that he would never leave him since he would not be the same without him.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- While he could have been considered PG in the first game (or at least NPG), in the second game onwards, his personality took a drastic negative change due to Praxis' experiments on him, and those factors really start to show. This was hinted by Jak II's front and back covers on the case, and it does show Jak's more violent side.
- As noted by Metal Kor, Jak lost the purity he needed to activate the Precursor Stone because of how the Baron tainted his heart with Dark Eco.
- Also note that Jak’s first line in the series, “I’m gonna kill Praxis!” established his darker side.
- Jak has become more anti-heroic starting with Jak II onwards and he was willing to resort to doing unethical deeds, especially for Krew who's a known crime lord, just so he can get his revenge on Baron Praxis, though this being understandable is not out of the question giving all the horrible experimentations Praxis did to him.
- Jak's lust for vengance agaisnt the Baron often caused him to act recklessly and take actions that hinder the Underground's plans and put them in danger of discovery when they only keep low profile in their defiance and eventually ended up getting the Underground members captured and imprisoned.
- He is extremely wrathful to the point of turning into Dark Jak and even if he didn't, he would lash out at others over petty reasons, which puts him at odds with others, especially Keira. He refused to participate in the second race because Keira favored Erol over him since learning of Jak's dark transformation and working for Krew on a few occasions. While Jak knows of Erol's true nature, he could have told her about his role in his capture and subjection to Dark Eco experiments and he never needed to get argumentative with her.
- He can be a huge jerk to a lot of people around him, especially when provoked. In Jak 3, he refused to return to Haven City and told Ashelin that Haven City can rot for all he cares and ends with "I'm through saving the world". While it was understandable since Jak had become an outcast after the destruction of the Haven Palace and banished by Veger, he was still quite resentful and spiteful about it, and it doesn't help that his old friends from the previous games, who have always supported him throughout the series, are still there in the heat of a battle against the Metal Heads and the Dark Makers. He does change his mind though, so it's relatively minor.
- Jak carries a lethal and even a sadistic side to him as it was noted that he is fond of weapons and takes enjoyment of killing his enemies.
