Good Fairy, or Fairy Godmother, is the deuteragonist of the "thinly veiled sequel" to Pinocchio 1940 "Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night". Godmother of Pinocchio, the protagonist, whom she turned into a boy after the events of the first part (meaning the book).
She was voiced by Rickie Lee Jones.
Her Heroic Ranking[]
Her Good Deeds[]
- She visited Pinocchio on his birthday, when he had already been a real boy for a year.
- She protects/saves other people from the influence of the Emperor of the Night.
- She turned Pinocchio back into a boy after he was transformed back into a puppet by Puppetino.
- She pushed Pinocchio to value his humanity and choose how his destiny would develop, which helped Pinocchio destroy the Emperor of the Night.
- She transformed Twinkle from a puppet into a human.
- She gave the Jewelbox Pinocchio and Geppetto.
Why Doesn't She Stand Out[]
- Although she lacks corrupting qualities and is presented as "Pure Good", she falls far short of heroic standards, and although it is not entirely fair to compare her to Pinocchio, she nevertheless falls short of the admiration of Scalawag and Igor, who helped Pinocchio, tried to save him from a terrible fate, told him that if the Emperor got his humanity, it would kill the Fairy, which greatly helped Pinocchio later, felt remorse for their misdeeds and redeemed themselves in the end.
- Her saving/protecting others from the Emperor's influence relies heavily on Fridge Brilliance, as it is unclear how many people she saved/protected from the Emperor. Furthermore, it doesn't really impact the plot, as the Emperor displays a large collection of people he has turned into puppets in his ship. Finally, this action takes place off-screen.
Trivia[]
- It is ironic that while she is considered a Heroic Benchmark, her archenemy the Emperor of the Night is considered Pure Evil. In fact, one could say that Fairy seems weak in comparison.
