Shang Tsung is a minor character in Mortal Kombat 1, Unlike the main version, he appears as a heroic counterpart to him and is an unplayable character in the game's final chapter.
Like his original counterpart, he is voiced by Alan Lee.
Biography[]
While he resembles his New Era counterpart, this version of Shang Tsung was a heroic figure, and seems to be partners with the similarly heroic Quan Chi. This Shang Tsung would join the Union of Light against the army of his malicious Titan self.
In Mortal Kombat 1's final chapter, Armageddon, he features as an ally, and he and his Quan Chi manage to reach the top of the Pyramid and fight their Titan selves. He urges the playable Final Warrior, telling them are close to the top of the pyramid. Tragically, while distracted, he and Quan Chi are brutally killed by the Titan Deadly Alliance, their skeletons being pulled out of their bodies.
