The Ruins of Time are a location from Paralogue 12 of Fire Emblem Awakening. Found in northwestern Ferox, the Ruins are said to be connected to Naga. Indeed, within their depths Chrom finds Naga's Tear, a powerful relic that Lissa believes to have protective qualities.
Geography[]
The Ruins of Time are found in the far northwest corner of Ylisse. While north of a large Feroxi mountain range, there are still some notable hills in the area. It seems to have an at least semi-arid climate, perhaps being part of the desert known to cover western Ferox.
While there are some pillars and parts of walls above the ground, most of the Ruins of Time are subterranean.
Story[]
Chrom and Robin first gain interest in the Ruins of Time after hearing that it might have treasure related to Naga. Yet when the Shepherds arrive, they find the place crawling with Risen. Moreover, their bounty is threatened by two other treasure hunters come to loot the Ruins. To make matters even more complicated, the Shepherds also find Morgan, who seems to have a head injury. Making their way through the strange underground rooms of the Ruins, the Shepherds rescue Morgan from the Risen and and claim the fabled treasure for their own. There is other treasure to be found within chests placed throughout the Ruins. If the Shepherds unlock them before the thieves do, they will find a Fortify Staff, a Second Seal, and a Bullion (M). If the theives get to the chests first, they will need to be killed to obtain these items. As time goes on, Risen reinforcements will arrive from the stairways; however, only the Risen Chief needs to be killed to end the battle.
After speaking with Robin, Morgan will join the Shepherds in their fight to save the future. This conversation may happen during the battle if Robin talks to them or immediately after if Morgan survives. Once the Shepherds make their way outside, Robin will attempt to explain the situation to them, and they will reveal that they remember nothing at all about the world they came from except that Robin is their parent.
Trivia[]
- It is possible that the Ruins of Time are related to Thabes, a city said to be Naga's resting place. While the Ruins are on the wrong side of the mountain range to be the Tower of Thabes, this theory is supported by the presence of Naga's Tear.
- Furthermore, Tiki's Tear proves that the dragon tears are linked to the death of a dragon.
