Background[]
Barnes is a Gunner that will initially be encountered at the Third Rail with Winlock harassing MacCready about the circumstances surrounding his leaving the Gunners. After this they both return to their camp on the Mass Pike Interchange.

Barnes will sometimes not be hostile even after Winlock and the gunner team at Mass Pike Interchange were killed. He will state the same phrase that he said in goodneighbor ("Stand back. I'm here on Gunner Business"). He can still be killed to complete Long Road Ahead.
