EVANGELION Battle Link (ヱヴァンゲリヲンバトルリンク?) was a card game based on Rebuild of Evangelion film series. It was developed by FIELDS and published on 23 February 2018.[1]
Overview[]
Announced on 01 November 2017 alongside Code Geass Battle Link, the first booster pack to be released on 23 February 2018. The price was set to be 1,500 yen (excluding tax) for the starter box and 330 yen (excluding tax) for the booster pack.[2]
Battle Link is a two-player competitive trading card. It used a game system that incorporated the world of Evangelion as a motif into a trading card game. The system allowed the player to recreate five mission cards depicting scenes from the first three Rebuild of Evangelion films using the cards the player had and aimed to solve all the missions faster than the opponent.
Players used a deck of 48 cards in total, consisting of a main deck of 40 cards, an Impact deck of 3 cards, and a mission deck of 5 cards. As they passed character cards to each other, they must aum to be faster than the other player and collect all 5 cards. The aim is to solve the missions drawn on the mission deck. Players could use "Angels" and "Evangelion" cards to hinder the opponent's mission completion.
The game support was announced to end on 26 December 2018 via the official Twitter profile on 13 July 2018.[3] The Booster pack Volume 2 was canceled alongside the support of the entire game.[4]
