Maldonia is a fictional country mentioned in The Princess and the Frog. It is where Prince Naveen, his mother, father, brother and the rest of the ruling family were born. The name is a portmanteau of the real life countries of the Maldives and North Macedonia. It should also be noted that the chief language of Maldonia is based on the Italian language.

Maldonia was originally named Maldakesh as heard in deleted scenes and seen in newspaper articles in the film.
In Maldonia, there are two numbers in between 28 and 29 as stated by Naveen in a deleted scene. They are "Twenty-Badini" and "Twenty-Caldonza".
