"Bad Ear Day" is the ninth episode of Mickey Mouse. It originally aired on Disney Channel on August 16, 2013. The episode follows Mickey losing his ears while preparing to go to a show with Minnie and trying to hunt them down.
Plot[]
One evening, Mickey is taking a nap up until a phone call wakes him. It's Minnie, who reminds Mickey that he's about to be late for their show and has 15 minutes to meet her at the theater. While in the bathroom getting ready, Mickey's ears start messing with him in various ways up until he reattaches them to their proper place, but as he's heading off, a fan blows his ears out the window and into the city.
Mickey, now deaf, quickly wanders around the streets to find his missing ears. During his search, he runs into Goofy, who tries to engage in a conversation with him, but Mickey doesn't understand what he's saying, so he takes Goofy's ears to use as his own, causing Goofy to go deaf and not understand Mickey. Mickey then overhears a hockey play-by-play from a nearby television shop where the broadcaster announces that there are three pucks on the ice, which Mickey realizes that two of them are his ears. Mickey thanks Goofy for lending him his ears and dashes off, but Goofy, despite holding his ears, still doesn't understand Mickey.
Mickey arrives at the arena and jumps onto the ice to try getting his ears back, but the hockey players get in his way. Using his bow-tie as a hockey stick, Mickey dodges all the players and scores a one-puck, two-ear game-winning goal, allowing him to reacquire his ears.
Now with his ears back, Mickey rushes off to meet Minnie. He joins her in their seats just in time for the start of the show, but realizes that they are watching an opera, so he removes his ears again so that he can enjoy it in peace.

Trivia[]
- When Mickey rushes into the city to find his ears, a sign advertising King Candy can be seen in a window.
- Another sign reads "Family Books, est. 1955", a possible reference to Disneyland's opening year.
- When Mickey is getting ready for his date, a bottle of after-shave called "Old Mice", a parody of Old Spice, can be seen next to the sink.
- This short has a lot of similarities with "Mickey's Delayed Date", except for the fact that Mickey doesn't lose his ears like what happens here.
- The setting of the second episode, "Yodelberg", is shown on Mickey's pillow at the beginning.
- The aria that Clara Cluck is clucking to is Largo al factotum from The Barber of Seville, by Gioachino Rossini.
- Because of the deaf-like nature of the episode, some viewers commented that they thought their speakers were broken when they viewed this episode for the first time.
- This is the first episode in which Mickey panics.
