With the ISS no longer being a threat, Tai and his party continues their adventure. Tai and Sora, who go out to look for food, happen to reunite with Mimi and Palmon. Then they are suddenly pulled into Mimi’s project.
With the threat from the ISS over, the Chosen Children who have reunited stop to make camp for the time being. However, in the meantime, Taichi and Sora get separated from Hikari, T.K., and Koshiro, and end up in the area where Mimi landed. Reuniting with her and learning of her new friendship with the Gotsumon and Golemon and all the gemstones she found, they then prepare to storm the nearby castle where many more Gotsumon are being used as slaves to dig up gemstones for the Goblimon and their leader in the mines, much to Mimi's anger due to the lessons about how to treat your company employees she learned from her grandfather.
With Sora distracting the sentries, Taichi and Mimi, joined by Golemon, head inside to find the leader, discovering it to be a Gogmamon. When it reveals that it has been eating gemstones and Gotsumon to become stronger, Golemon and Togemon attack it, but are overpowered. Mimi's fury at Gogmamon allows Togemon to evolve into Lillymon, and using a diamond to weaken Gogmamon, Lillymon destroys it. The Goblimon and Sunarizamon flee with Gogmamon's death, and Mimi has Golemon take over for her until she returns. As she hops aboard Komodomon with the others, Mimi tells the Gotsumon and Golemon that the word "company" also means "friends".
