Synopsis for "Burning Rage, Part One"
A mysterious man tells the Madmen that they, the whole world and the city of San Fransico which was nearly doomed in H.I.V.E.'s attack are crazy. However the world doesn't embrace madness like them but he wants to change this together with the group. The Teen Titans meanwhile enjoy rides in Dreamland owned by Beast Boy's adoptive father Steve Dayton and closed for everyone else but them due to Garfield's birthday. The people who had purchased tickets to enter the park however protest outside and blame the Titans for being shut out. As the people are shoved away from the gates by security, Starfire feels that it's gravely wrong.
Steve soon arrives and tells Starfire not to worry and states it's a delight to meet them all. Robin refuses to give him his name when he asks for an introduction while Steve's assistant Breur gives Garfield a gift though it turns out to be a toy-car. Steve states that the actual gift is at his Paris mansion in form of a real car. The protesters outside call out Steve and he promises to refund their ticket costs, but states he doesn't care about the money they spent on stay and travel to get to here. Starfire in ager destroys the gates, stating she doesn't like people being locked out for her pleasure. He tells Breur to shut up after he states it may help with the negative perception, further angering Starfire, but Robin defuses the situation.
Starfire agrees to calm down after request from Beast Boy and they head back to the Titans Tower, where he tells the others that Steve has been money-minded ever since his wife Rita Farr died. Robin alerts them to a fire at a yacht club on the docks and the Titans try to rescue the people there. They discover that Steve and Breur were among the passengers on his yacht named "Rita" and try to find out what caused it. Robin is however struck by disbelief when he discovers from the video surveillance that Hawk and Dove, accompanied by Madmen, were behind it.

Synopsis for Sideways: "Loss and Found"
This story is reprinted from Sideways #7.
One day earlier, after the Seven Soldiers of Victory lost one of their own, they debated recruiting Sideways. Later, in Gotham City, the GCPD visited Derek's home and asked his father to visit her body. Derek insisted on joining them, but his father insisted that he remain at the house and that he would call his phone. He looked at his phone and saw that he had twelve missed calls from his late mother. He rifted the Gotham City Morgue as Sideways and spoke to his mother's corpse, knowing that she could not hear him. Derek revealed that he was Sideways and apologized to her. When he heard someone about to open the door, he disappeared.
One week later, Derek decided to go to school even though his father allowed him not to. Derek also ignored Ernie's calls and texts and when he met her at school, he claimed that he needed nothing except for people to stop bothering him, although he wanted to hide his plan to catch his mother's killer and didn't want to get her involved. As he attempted to brush off Ernie, Freddy grabbed him and said that at least his real mother was not the one who died, provoking him. Derek punched Freddy and when another student claimed that nobody cared about his mother, he created a rift under a waterfall and flooded the school.
Then, the six remaining members of the Seven Soldiers of Victory arrived and briefed him and asked him to help them in exchange for erasing the memory of the past hour from his fellow students. Zatanna planted the location of the Manhattan Guardian in Derek's mind before he joined the team and was about to rift them all to where they wanted to be.
