Synopsis for "Into the Fire!"

As the Teen Titans near Ciratti in the T-Jet, Starfire wonders why H.I.V.E, is worried about a global conflict when much of the world isn't engaged in war. Robin thinks that maybe trying to start such a war themselves while their fight with the Fearsome Five was orchestrated to give them further time to prepare. Robin however has devised a plan to take them down. Meanwhile at Ciratti, the director of H.I.V.E. tells Disruptor to transport all the inhabitants off the island and kill them if they resist. As the sensors spot the T-Jet, he orders for it to be shot down while telling Disruptor to not prematurely celebrate.

After sending his soldiers to check if the Titans are indeed dead, the director starts the launch sequence of a missile to release the toxins in the upper atmosphere. He and Disruptor soon get attacked by Teen Titans, though H.I.V.E easily surrounds and subdues them. Robin then calls the Fearsome Five for backup who start attacking the H.I.V.E. Gizmo takes Beast Boy to the disable the missile while Robin and Psimon chase after the director. The Titans the Fearsome Five soon defeat the H.I.V.E. soldiers while Raven and Shimmer snatch the amplifier out of Disruptor's hands before turning into jelly.

Meanwhile, Gizmo hands Beast Boy a chip to plant near the missile's fuel tank as Psimon makes the director call off his attack fleet before he is knocked out by Robin. Beast Boy plants the chip in time which disables the missile and Beast Boy stings him in his bee form as he starts stating that the whole world should be thankful to him. The United Nations' forces later arrive to restrain the H.I.V.E. soldiers and the Fearsome Five agree to fight against the Titans on another day. While they leave however, Robin and Beast reveal to Starfire and Raven that they planted a tracker inside Gizmo when Beast Boy stung him.

Synopsis for Teen Titans: "War and Peace"

This story is reprinted from Teen Titans (Volume 3) #6.

Wonder Woman has declared that she is taking Wonder Girl out of the Teen Titans. She has the rest of the Justice League to back her up too. Cassie's mother never wanted this life for her and Diana feels responsible. Starfire flies up to the roof of Titans Tower and tells Diana that Cassie is staying with the team if she chooses to. Then she unleashes a volley of starbolts on Diana and a massive fight ensues.

The rest of the Teen Titans rally to Cassie's side, while the Justice League members begin fighting them for no real reason. Flash and Kid Flash race across the bay and work out some of their issues, while Superboy accidentally uses his heat vision to burn the back of Superman's cape. Beast Boy turns into a ram and butts heads with a green ram created from Green Lantern's ring. Batman and Robin do not come to blows, but each of them stands ready to counter the other.

The fight ends at the surprising appearance of Nightwing. He arrives via the Outsiders stealth craft and encourages for cooler heads to prevail. In the end, Cassie wants to stay with the Teen Titans and the Justice League have to honor her wishes.

After Cyborg shows the League the door, Superboy and Robin have a private conversation. Robin tells Connor that he ran a DNA test on him and can confirm that one half of his genetic code belongs to Lex Luthor. Superboy is greatly troubled to discover this.

Later, Lex Luthor (using an anonymous instant messager name) sends more information to Robin concerning Superboy's origins.

Synopsis for Sideways: "Confessions"

This story is reprinted from Sideways #6.

Derek's mother was attempting to question him on his recent disappearances, although he walked out the door. She decided to go to work, despite her husband attempting to stop her.

Derek went to Ernie's house, where he received and ignored a phone call from his mother. Emie revealed that Ernie and their mother were actually working at the street fair, so Derek rushed out. When Derek's mother surprisingly entered Dark Star Sciences, a security guard warned someone on the phone about her heading their way. She took an elevator before briefly encountering Portefoy and attempting to access files with Derek's name on a computer, then saw videos of Sideways.

As Sideways, Derek rifted to the street fair before thinking of Tempus and rifting to his location, where he found him fighting the Inverse. Sideways offered to help and Tempus asked him to allow him to use him to channel his powers. When Tempis took over, Sideways felt a rush of power and trapped the Inverse inside of a portal. As the two parted ways, Derek's mother was attempting to call him, although had no signal, so she decided to turn to a friend in Metropolis with the company's files on Derek and Sideways. She was attempting to finish downloading the files when the lights went off and somebody grabbed her phone.

When Derek returned home, nobody was there and attempted to call his mother, although her phone laid on the street, as his mother laid dead.
