Jamie S. Rich started out in the 1990s as an editor on Dark Horse Comics' Grendel series, of which he had already been a fan. He was editor-in-chief at Oni Press from 1998 to 2004.
As a writer, he was written novels and comics for Image Comics, including It Girl and the Atomics (2012). In 2015, he became a group editor for Vertigo and later moved to Young Animal. In April 2018, he was brought in as group editor for Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow titles,.
