The OTs-02 Kiparis is a Russian[1] submachine gun featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Call of Duty: Black Ops[]
Campaign[]
The Kiparis is seen in the hands of Spetsnaz exclusively, and is available in a weapons cache in "Numbers". Attachments used often are Extended Mags, Dual Wield, or Reflex Sight. It is later seen in the mission "Rebirth".
Multiplayer[]
The Kiparis is the classified SMG in Call of Duty: Black Ops, requiring the purchase of all of the other SMGs, plus itself. It can therefore be unlocked as early as level 41.
At any range short of 17.5 meters, the Kiparis will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 25 meters. At any range past 25 meters, the Kiparis will deal twenty damage per bullet, needing five shots to kill. The Kiparis has a four shot kill range of 21.9 meters. In Hardcore game types, the Kiparis' one shot kill range is 17.5 meters. The Kiparis deals forty percent extra damage on a headshot. This can reduce the number of shots to kill required in Core game types at any range, although a headshot will rarely make a difference in Hardcore. The Kiparis has medium penetration power; however, if using the Dual Wield version of the Kiparis, the penetration power will be low.
The Kiparis fires fully automatically, firing at a rate of 937 RPM.
The Kiparis has recoil values of 10 to the left, 60 to the right, 60 upwards, and 20 downwards. The Kiparis has a centerspeed value of 1400. The Kiparis has the auto-aim range of an assault rifle instead of an SMG.
The Kiparis allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 80% of the base movement speed. The Kiparis has a slower than SMG-standard aim down sight time of 250 milliseconds, and the Kiparis' hip-fire spread is small. The Kiparis' reload animation is 2.1 seconds long, or 2.65 seconds long on an empty magazine. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel after 1.3 seconds.
The Kiparis has a magazine capacity of twenty rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of eighty rounds.
The Kiparis has a slightly larger than usual attachment selection among SMGs. In addition to the standard assortment of SMG attachments, the Kiparis also has access to Dual Wield. As previously mentioned, Dual Wield will reduce the penetration power of the Kiparis. Otherwise, all attachments function as one would expect.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]
- "A lightweight submachine gun that has an extremely high mobility but low mag capacity."
- — In-game description
The Kiparis returns in Call of Duty: Mobile as the OTs 9. It was added in April 2023 as part of the Season 4: Veiled Uprising update.
Multiplayer[]
The Ots 9 is a four-to-seven hit kill SMG that deals more damage than its base damage in all scenarios. From 0 to 18 meters, the Ots 9 will be a four-hit-kill as long as there is no leg shot, From 18 to 23 meters. the Ots 9 will be a six-shot kill if no bullets go to the leg. Past 23 meters, it will be a seven-shot-kill. The Ots 9 will always take two hits to kill in Hardcore modes.
ADS spread is 31(17), average for SMGs. Aim assist laser may be necessary if players want to take longer range engagements. Hip fire spread is 200(120) average for SMGs.
Fire rate is 857 RPM, similar to the MX9 and Type 25. Recoil is moderate low, with average vertical magnitude and minimal horizontal recoil. Bullet velocity is 650 m/s, tied with ISO for 2nd best in class, however still yields a really short hitscan range compared to the traditionally hitscan weapons. Barrels that help boosting this value are must have to improve consistency.
Magazine capacity is 20 rounds, lowest in class. Extended mags are necessary for prolonged engagements. Reload time is 1.20s for tactical and 1.27s for a full reload, above average in class.
Hit flinch is 0.8, bullet impact is 1.00(0.30), average for SMGs. Sprint to fire time is 100ms, tied with QQ9 for the best in class. Aim down sight time is 200ms, slightly above average for SMGs.
Movement speed is 4.96 m/s, ADS movement speed is 3.87 m/s, average for SMGs. Attachments that improve those stats are recommended, but not entirely necessary.

Trivia[]
Call of Duty: Black Ops[]
- "Kiparis" means "Cypress" in Russian.
- The serial number of the Kiparis is "902040," and is found near the rear iron sight.
- The HUD icon shows the gun with Extended Mags, a Reflex Sight, and a folding stock.
- On the Wii, the Kiparis is held with one hand instead of two, due to weapon twisting.
- Rapid Fire has no effect on the Wii.
- The player character seems to hold the weapon with their left hand as if they were Dual Wielding when diving to prone.
- It also seems to have different firing sounds for the left and right guns.
- Adding the Grip to the Kiparis had no effect on the accuracy gun attribute in Create-A-Class 2.0. This was later fixed in an update.
- The Kiparis' bullet casings fly upwards when firing, slightly obstructing the iron sights.
- When the Dual Wield option is chosen in Create-A-Class, it shows the guns with Extended Magazines.
- The Kiparis was going to be available in Zombie mode (with the ability to obtain Dual Wield), but was likely replaced by the PM63. Evidence remains in the following game files: "kiparis_zm", "kiparislh_zm", "kiparislh_upgraded_zm", "kiparisdw_zm" and "kiparisdw_upgraded_zm".
- If a Red Dot Sight is mounted, the text will refer to an "HK21 with Red Dot Sight", instead of the Kiparis (confirmed in the Spanish version and better seen in the mission Numbers).
- On the Wii version, the Kiparis with Dual-Wield gain their stocks.
- Using the
give all
console command during the level "Numbers" will give the player unique dual Kiparis submachine guns. The left gun is not visible (but still able to fire), and the right one appears to be held by an invisible hand.
