Montague Kane was a magic debunker who revealed magician's secrets, but was also a thief and a criminal in Batman: The Animated Series , serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Zatanna".
He was voiced by Michael York, who also voiced another villain, Count Vertigo , in Batman: The Animated Series , and also portrayed Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet , Pterano in the Land Before Time franchise, Ares in Justice League , Kanto in Superman: The Animated Series , and Bernard Fremont in Law & Order: Criminal Intent .
History [ ] Monatague made a living revealing magician's works and traveled the world. These acts made him rich enough to buy his own aircraft. At one point, he went to Zatanna's performance and to fantom her trick. Zatanna's act was to make 10 million dollars disappear and reappear. However, he stole the money in the act before the perfomance and framed Zatanna for the crime.
He later tried to get away in his private plane, but was stopped by Batman and Zatanna. Kane was arrested afterwards.
