Kawazugami is a robotic frog/purse/vacuum cleaner-like Tsukumogami created by Dark Shadow and he serves as the major antagonist in episode 16 of GoGo Sentai Boukenger. He was created by Yaiba of Darkness and Shizuka of the wind during their battle with Boukengers and during the Dark Shadow's attempt to steal and obtain the Nami Uemono dolls. Kawazugami was tasked by his masters to distract and defeat the Boukengers from them, while Yaiba and Shizuka would steal the dolls. In fact, Kawazugami was actually created by Gordom Civilization and was deployed by Dark Shadow through a proxy.
He is voiced by Naoki Tatsuta, who previously voiced DD Donmo in Gekisou Sentai Carranger and New Year's Org in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, and who would go on to voice Zakyura in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and Tombstone Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger.
Biography[]
After Dark Shadow was employed through a proxy by another Negative Syndicate to obtain the Nami Uemono dolls, Kawazugami was brought by Yaiba of Darkness and Shizuka of the Wind with them to the residence of the woman keeping the dolls. After Shizuka's plan to disguise herself as an SGS member failed, it was decided that Yaiba would duel Masumi, the BoukenBlack for possession of the dolls, but while they were away Shizuka summoned Kawazugami to attack the other Boukengers and steal the dolls by force. After Masumi triumphed over Yaiba with encouragement from Satoru, Kawazugami was defeated by the five Boukengers, but revived and enlarged by Gekkou of Illusions. Kawazugami devoured the woman's house, but was forced to spit it out by BoukenBlack using the GoGo Crane. Kawazumigami was then destroyed for good by DaiBouken.
Personality[]
Kawazugami is highly cunning, ruthless, arrogant and confident Tsukomogami, who will stop at nothing to destroy the Boukengers and help his masters, the Dark Shadow in their plans of stealing and obtaining the Nami Uemono dols and sell them on the black markets. However, despite being a villain, he was highly loyal to Yaiba, Shizuka and Gekkou and loyaly followed their orders. Kawazugami is also highly comedic and is heavily played for laughs.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Suction: Kawazugami can use his vacuum cleaner arm to suck in objects.
- Physical Strength: He is also significantly strong physically and is abe to hold his own against the Boukengers for some time.
- Chest Lightning Beams: Kawazugami can fire yellow-orange colored lightning beams from the frog eyes located on his chest.
- Speech: Other than the mouth on his frog-headed chest, Kawazugami is capable of speech despite lacking a visible mouth on his face.

- "Kawazu" (蛙, "kawazu") means "toad" in Japanese; this is a pun due to purses being compared to a toad's mouth (がま口, gamaguchi) in Japan.
