Clayface is the secondary antagonist in the 2002 TV Series, Birds of Prey. He is a criminal in Gotham City. He gained powers from a chemical that allowed him to shape-shift into anyone or anything and disguise himself as various people.

He is a supervillain with a clay-like body that allows him to shape-shift into anyone or anything he wishes, he uses these powers to commit crimes in Gotham City.

He was portrayed by Kirk Baltz.

Appearance[]

Clayface is seen wearing a white prison suit, pants, and shoes, his face and body appear to be clay-like and his hands have a rocky texture. In his human form, he is seen wearing a tuxedo and has tan skin, and his hair is long and goes down his neck.

Biography[]

Clayface was a villain of Batman from Gotham City who gained powers from drinking a chemical that a doctor named Will Kroner invented that allowed him to shape-shift and morph himself into other people or things, This power came with a few that came with it, though, such as flight and super-strength.

Season 1[]

Pilot[]

Later, he was hired by Joker to kill Catwoman (Selina Kyle), he impersonated his boss, did his job and killed Selina in front of her and Batman's (Bruce Wayne's) daughter, Helena Kyle, and ran off, he was later caught and incarcerated in Arkham Asylum, he was also mentioned numerous times throughout the series.

Feat Of Clay[]

Later, Helena heard about a new criminal in Gotham City named Chris Cassius who drank a serum that gave him the power to melt people into clay statues with his touch and went to visit Clayface at Arkham Asylum to interrogate him about Chris, Clayface instead kept talking about Selina Kyle, Helena's mother, after talking with Helena for a bit Helena left his cell.

Later, Helena found out that Chris was his son and went back to Arkham to interrogate him again, Clayface told Helena that he wasn't exactly the "model father", so Clayface guessed that Chris would be trying to "show him up" by accomplishing something that even he wasn't able to do, When Clayface told Helena details about Selina's death that only people close to the scene would know, Helena began taking suspicion, when Cayface morphed his face into the Joker's face (albeit without the pale white skin and green hair) Helena had flashbacks of the night her mother was killed and remembered that it was the face the killer had, Helena eventually deduces that it wasn't actually Joker, but Clayface who killed her mother, this angered Helena to the point that the two began banging on the glass, Clayface expressed sadness when Helena left his cell once again.

Helena gathered Chris's address and went to his house to fight him, she attempted to hit Chris with one clear shot but Oracle told her it was too dangerous and that if he touches Helena, she's dead as skin-to-skin contact triggers a chain reaction which turns the person into a clay statue, Helena eventually ran out of the house and went back to Oracle, the two remembered that years ago Clayface hatched a plan to take down Gotham's power elite at a charities fashion show, the two deduce that the show is tonight, and Helena goes to the show to confront Clayface and Chris, Helena takes down the gunwomen and begins to fight Clayface and Chris, she throws a smoke pellet at Chris but he doesn't fall for it and attacks Helena, but she defeats him and begins to fight Clayface, Helena eventually pins him to the ground and threatens to kill Clayface, but she snaps out of it and defeats Clayface, When the police came, he was arrested and Clayface didn't fight back out of remorse.

Trivia[]

This is the first live action incarnation of Clayface that wasn't an animated cameo in the intro of the 60s Batman series.
- For an unknown reason, all of Clayface's live action appearances have been exclusive to TV shows.
It is unknown why Chris Cassius's surname is Cassius instead of Payne.
In his first appearance as Joker, he is portrayed by Roger Stoneburner.
