Choobo was one of the lieutenants and later generals of Lothor's forces and a supporting antagonist in the Power Rangers Ninja Storm.
He wielded a staff and could summon energy spheres to trap his enemies. He was also a source of comic relief of the series (along with Marah and Kapri). Sometimes, he used monsters based off animals.
He was portrayed by Bruce Hopkins.
Personality[]
Choobo is similar to Marah and Kapri as he serves as comic relief of the series, he speaks in a goofy manner similar to that of some brute-type characters seen in cartoons, he is overall not the brightest of generals (though there are some moments were he can be clever) and can be on a bit on the dumb side, but when in comes to fighting, he does take his missions seriously.
Biography[]
Past[]
Choobo's past before the events of the series is largely unknown, but he was an alien from a distant planet and was recruited by Lothor, along with other Lothor's goons long before the events of the series and after Lothor was banished from Wind Ninja Academy. Choobo was chosen by Lothor for his great intelligence and strategic skills.
Ninja Storm[]
Choobo first appeared in the first episode when Lothor attacked and destroyed the Wind Ninja academy together with his army. Choobo was the one who trapped the ninja students in the. Energy spgeres, which he released. Lothor and his army kidnapped the ninja students and left, returning to their ship. However, soon Lothor and his generals learned that they kidnapped not all students of the Wind Ninja Academy and that there were three students who escaped. The students were granted with the Ninja Morphers by sensei Kanoi Watanabe and became the Wind Ninja Rangers.
Throughout the season, Choobo together with Lothor and Zurgane tried and created multiple plans and schemes of destroying the Ninja Rangers and taking over the Earth, but their efforts were constantly foiled by the Power Rangers.
In the episode "Snip it, Snip It Good", Choobo showed signs of having a crush on Tori Hanson when he addressed that she "sure is pretty".

In the four-part episode "Return of Thunder", He was promoted to general when he captured the Thunder Rangers and brainwashed them to fight the Wind Rangers again. A plan that he devised against the Rangers got him promoted to General, but after the plan failed, he was not only demoted, but exiled. Choobo was angry at the Rangers, so he tried to destroy them on his own, but he was defeated. Choobo eventually returned to Lothor's army.
Choobo swore revenge and devised a plan to steal the Scrol of Empowerment that would give him great strength and powers and he could finally seek revenge as well escape from Zurgane causing the General's fury. He was defeated by the Rangers's Thunderstorm Megazord, but was saved by Lothor and shrunken to the size of a doll where he was kept as a pet by Marah, one of Lothor's nieces. He was later turned back to regular size by Lothor on accident.
In the episode "Good Will Hunter", Lothor later restored him to normal accidentally.
He is also the one who reveals Shimazu and Vexacus's plans to Lothor.
He was last seen on the space fortress shortly before it self-destructed.
Defeat and death[]
In the final part of the two-part series finale episode "Storm Before the Calm", he was destroyed when Lothor's flagship self-destructed and during the rescue of Cam Watanabe by the Thunder Rangers. He was later released by the Abyss of Evil for the final battle. During the final battle between the Ninja Storm Rangers and Lothor's forces, Choobo was defeated by Shane as the Red Battlized Ranger, although it was not quite clear if he was completely destroyed as he was only seen falling down after getting blasted by the Battilizer's lasers.
Alternate Choobo[]
An alternate dimension has its Choobo working at Storm Chargers where he and Zurgane have opposite personalities. Choobo is among those who help Mayor Lothor fight the Evil Ninja Rangers.
Powers and Abilities[]
Despite his goofy appearance, however, Choobo is indeed a powerful fighter, as well as powerful magic user. In the finale part of the four-part episode "Return of Thunder", when he gets enlarged by the Scroll of Empowerment, it took the power of the new Thunderstorm Megzord to finally defeat him.
- Teleportation: Choobo can teleport to any location at his will.
- Invisibility and Extraordinary Jumper: Choobo can turn himself invisible and jump in incredible heights.
- Magic Mastery: Choobo is a powerful master of magic.
- Transparent Head Form: Choobo can turn into a large transparent version of his own head.
- Bad Breath: In his transparent head form, Choobo can breathe out a gust of stinky gas from his mouth.
- Energy Lasers: Choobo can fire yellow colored energy lasers from his hands.
- Puppetry: Choobo can control his enemy's body with his force similar to that of a puppet by firing light blue colored energy strings from his hand that will hit them.
- Lightning Infusion: Choobo can infuse those in his thrall with green lightning to deepen the control.
- Fire Breath: Choobo can breathe out strong flames from his mouth.
- Lightning Vision: Choobo can fire orange colored lightning beams from his eyes.
- Super Strength: Choobo is one of Lothor's strongest generals. In the final part of the four-part episode "Return of Thunder", when he gets enlarged by the Scroll of Empowerment, he is strong enough to best both the Storm Megazord and the Thunder Megazord in battle.
- Durability: Choobo has highly durable and thick skin that can take many beatings from his enemies. In the final part of the four-part episode "Return of Thunder", he got blasted by the combined attacks of the Wind Rangers' Storm Cannon and the Thunder Rangers' Thunder Blaster, and did not even get a scratch. Being defeated and exploding as a result of his battle with the Thunderstorm Megazord did not destroy him although he was badly injured by it, but he would have perished if Lothor did not save him.
- Master Fighter: In addition to his enormous raw strength, Choobo is a master fighter who can easily take on and overwhelm his opponents.
- Kelzak Summoning: Choobo can summon an army of Kelzaks to aid him in battle.
- Communication: Choobo is able to communicate with others.
- Quick Attack: Choobo can rush and rapidly attack his enemies.
- Monster Summoning: Choobo was able to summon Super Toxipod by calling out his name.
