Avery Carrington is a supporting character in the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and a minor antagonist in its 2005 sequel Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
He was voiced by the late Burt Reynolds.

In 1935, Avery Carrington was born in somewhere in Texas. He later expanded into Vice City, Florida, later taking Donald Love as his protege.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[]
By 1986, he is first seen at a yacht party hosted by Colonel Juan Cortez. Sometime after, he meets with criminal lawyer Ken Rosenberg in his office before being introduced to Tommy Vercetti. Avery hires Tommy to escalate a strike into a riot at Spand Express and destroy three of the company's vans in order to drive them out of town, which Tommy succeeds in doing.
Avery later hires Tommy to murder a property developer who refused to sell Avery some land at a golf course and structurally weaken a building site located near his own. He hires Tommy again to cause a gang war between the Cubans and the Haitians by having Tommy disguise as a member of the Cuban Gang and ambushing the funeral of the deceased Haitian gang lord in order to bring down real estate prices for Avery.
After the death of Ricardo Diaz and Tommy's takeover of his business, Avery offers some advice to Tommy on buying real estate.
Between GTA: VC and GTA: LCS[]
In the years after the events in Vice City, Avery had expanded his business in Las Venturas, San Andreas, even appearing on a billboard.
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories[]
In 1998, Avery hopes to expand his business to Liberty City. That same year, however, his former protege, Donald Love, hired Leone mobster Toni Cipriani to kill Avery and steal his plans. The real estate mogul was then killed during a car chase with Toni. Avery's corpse was later delivered to Love by Toni and was later devoured by his ex-protégé.
