The Heal Cannon[1] (ヒールキャノン[2] Hīru Kyanon?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Heal Unit-like cannon that heals and befriends foes.

Description[]

Overview[]

In Shadow the Hedgehog, the Heal Cannon is an unlockable weapon that can be obtained by completing Final Haunt in Story Mode for the first time. To get the upgraded version, one must complete it again with the opposite mission.

Unlike any other weapon, this weapon restores Health Gauges instead of depleting them, similar to Heal Unit, except it can be fired multiple times. By firing this at any GUN Soldier, they will no longer shoot Shadow, but salute him instead. It can also affect certain Black Arms enemies such as Black Warriors, which causes them to become neutral towards Shadow. Shooting an enemy with the Heal Cannon also fills up the meter affiliated with said enemy (Black Arms will fill up Shadow's Dark Gauge while GUNs will fill up Shadow's Hero Gauge).

Trivia[]

  • The blue "drip" illustration printed on the gun could be based on the Damage Recover power-up, even though the item restores vehicles, not people.
  • Any healed enemies, with the exception of GUN Soldiers (not including robots), will resume attacking if left alone for a few minutes.
  • When a Black Arms enemy loses the last of the health in their Health Gauge and begins to disappear, there is a brief period when the Heal Cannon can still be used to heal them, canceling out their death. Shadow can continuously "kill" and then revive the same Black Arms unit multiple times this way. This is likely an oversight, as healing a Black Arms this way will fill up the Hero Gauge instead of the Dark Gauge.
