- Infinite Psyburn's name may be derived from Psyburn, an attack in the Pokémon Trading Card Game that first appeared on the 1999 Black Star Promo Mewtwo and has appeared on multiple Mewtwo cards since. Psystrike in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U involved all affected characters being hit from above, albeit with multiple shocks instead of a single blast.
