Tirkin
Tirkins are an enemy species in Xenoblade Chronicles, Future Connected, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Torna ~ The Golden Country, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. They are a race of stout humanoids best described as "bird people": they have large beaks and talons of two fingers with one toe for hands and feet. All are seen to wear breastplates and gauntlets with a frill of feathers attached. Young Tirkins are referred as "Tirklets".
Tirkins are a sapient species, though their technological advancement is limited to spears and bows. While some live along other races, they are more often violent troublemakers, and often act rashly without reason. Tirkins can speak human languages, though stilted and ungrammatical (conveyed via mispelled captions).
In Xenoblade Chronicles, white Tirkins are known as Chilkins. In later games, this distinction is removed.
Xenoblade Chronicles[edit]
Tirkins are found exclusively on the Bionis' Leg. In Future Connected, they inhabit the Bionis' Shoulder. They do not feature the more humanlike traits seen in later games - they only make bird noises instead of speaking, and none are seen living in other races' settlements.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]
Tirkin received a slight redesign, shrinking their gauntlets and reducing their feather count to make it more obvious they don't have "real" wings, while also giving a fancier breastplate. This is the first game to include socialized Tirkin, such as a group of cooks called the Fire Dragons entirely composed of Tirkin, or henchmen and bodyguards hired by Bana for running the Old Factory. However, many Tirkin live away from humans and Nopon, choosing to steal from or abduct them as seen with the tribes near Torigoth. Tirkin are found primarily in Gormott, Leftheria, Tantal and the Kingdom of Torna.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3[edit]
Tirkins are a minor faction on Aionios. Their main habitat is in Maktha Wildwood and their king is The Tirking. They have an ongoing alliance with Colony Tau. Some Tirkins can be twice as big than humans as seen with the Jumbo Tirkin. The Tirkins' appearance are the same as in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. They are sometimes seen clashing with Ignas, and even other Tirkin tribes during skirmishes. Tirkins are found primarily at Ribbi Flats, Rae-Bel Tableland, High Maktha Wildwood, and Rebellion Cave. Tirkins occasionally stumble and trip, dropping several items that they carry.
Trivia[edit]
- Tirkins tend to have a Cockney accent whenever they speak with English voices.
- A group of Tirkin is called a "murder".
