I absolutely LOVE the cover!! It really makes you want to discover the story. Doesn't it? [image]
I enjoyed this book way more than I expected. It has a lot of action and so much suspense. I expected something very different, an easy read, maybe a little suspense, BUT this story gave me so much more: demons, vampires, ghosts, dark forces and those who fought against them!
I was hooked from the first pages, even if I had to read twice the first sentence: "Sara's mother called him again ...", because I "tripped" at Sara and him.
I love the writing style of these authors. They didn't gave us too much from the start and I always appreciate this. I could complain the story was a little slow paced at the beginning, but I will not, because everything was revealed at the perfect time. I enjoyed discovering the story while Sara discovered Mr. Dupont's secrets.
Mr. Thaddeus Dupont - was such a complex character. I was so curious about his past! I couldn't wait for him to give us another piece of him, and for Sara to begin to understand him a little more. If he ever actually smile, Mr. Intense would be devastating.
Sarasija made me picture a very young, hansom but ingenuous man. He took his first job without even taking in consideration any danger that may come. To say his job as Dupont's assistant was very different from what he expected, is an understatement!
About Thaddeus and Sara, well despite their differences: age and experience, they feel very attracted to each other even if they are both afraid to give in to temptation. Their reasons are so different too, Dupont doesn't want to break his contract and Sara doesn't want to have an affair with his boss. But everything gets so complicated, their lives are in danger and they had to fight the evil every moment. So when they couldn't fight and gave into each other, everything felt right. All their hot moments together seem right and made me realize they mean a lot to each other and words were not necessary.
I really liked the choice of words of these 2 authors. I think it gives authenticity to Mr. Dupont having such an old soul, and I also loved all his French words he used sometimes. He really felt like an old soul trapped in such a young and beautiful body.

I would resign myself to an eternity in hell, if it meant a single lifetime with him.

Again I'm in the minority here. Almost all my GR friends loved it to pieces! So many 5 stars reviews. Again maybe I expected too much, but this one kind of left me wanting more.
I usually love age gaps between the main characters, but here it didn't work for me. The romance was nice, but a little too predictable. Maybe it's just me here, not the book. Feel free to try it and if you enjoy low on angst stories, maybe you'll like it more than I did....more

I planned on reading only MM books in 2019, but a coworker borrowed it to me saying it's a great one. Unfortunately it wasn't a great story for me. Maybe because I had high expectations? I don't know. But what I do know is that I am NOT a fan of this author's writing and that this #1 New York Times Bestseller didn't work for me. It ended being only an OK read, but nothing more. The blurb is pretty interesting, and I expected much more! This story was LONG and extremely boring at times. There are too many characters and scenes that don't really matter. I didn't care for most of the characters. They were egotistical and I didn't agree with their choices AT ALL.
I'm sorry to give this one only 2 stars, but it just wasn't my cup of tea and the ending wasn't satisfying....more

I can't believe I cried while reading this...
This last shortie was extremely emotional and it punched me hard. It was extremely well written!!! Never a dull moment. I savoured every chapter, every scene. I highlighted a lot, but unfortunately I can't share much because of spoilers. You should definitely experience it on your own, without any idea of what happens next. I'm super glad I haven't stumbled on any spoilers and enjoyed it despite the super sad scenes.
This last book was everything I expected and then some. I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the scene in the barn. I am glad Trav was strong enough for both of them!
"Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd is one of my favorite songs of all times. I started to sing it along with the boys, with tears in my eyes. When I finished this book I listened it again and cried my eyes out for the boy who has given up his dreams, the boy who was rarely hugged, the boy who wasted his youth because he hid who he was. And all because of a horrieble lie and his homophobic parents.
This story will last in my mind. I loved everything about it! Trav's strength, Mackey's transformation, Kell's maturity. So many things changed with Trav's help.
I love that despite the angst and heartbreaking scenes, there is HOPE. This ending left me hoping things will continue to get better and better for these boys.
“Every time he sings it, he looks at me like he can’t sing another note if I’m not in the audience, waiting for it to come out. That’s how I want him to need me.”
"Can you even breathe?” Trav asked over his head. “It’s not air if it doesn’t smell like you.”
"But it was worth everything—rehab and crying for months and all that bullshit—if you and me can walk away from this together."
"So. So you think you can tell, Heaven from hell…. Trav knew the words to this one too. Mackey picked up the guitar, and the clean chords surged in melancholy waves under their quiet voices. When they got to the part about the two lost souls, Mackey’s voice cracked, but his brothers kept up the melody, and Mackey did what he’d done the first time Grant left. He just kept playing, because it was all he had."
"You were killing yourself over the guy—and I picked up the pieces."
Another amazing shortie! I loved it SO much!!! ❤

Mackey and Trav are perfect together. Loved Mackey's strength and Trav's sincerity. I was glad Blake is finally a part of their family. I hated Cheever and would have done more than shaking him for his awful language!!! And we got Briony!!! I absolutely loved her interactions with Mackey and the band!
And finaly the news that shake their world. I must admit I agree with Trav.
“The point is this guy meant something to you—and not just something, he was your fucking everything. I know it was a thousand years ago, but even I remember my first crush, and it broke my fucking heart. You only get that kind of pain once, and you… it was your whole world."
"I don’t want to hurt you,” Mackey whispered. “I don’t want to hurt him, but I really don’t want to hurt you.” “You will,” Trav said, knowing in his gut that it would happen. Yeah, it was one thing to tell Mackey to go open up a vein, but Trav was pretty sure there’d be plenty of blood on the ground to spare. “You’ll hurt us both, but, well, backatcha.”...more

This is my favorite book in the series so far!! I really LOVED both Cole and Ty. Cole's NO filter mouth was precious! Ty was still healing physically and emotionally. He just needed someone who wouldn't look at him with pity. Cole made him laugh and working together on cars was super funny but also hot. I loved their banter. I also loved the banter between Cole and Aidan. This was a slow burning romance but it really made my heart warm. Super sweet! It pains me that I can't give it 5 stars but I would have wanted more relationship angst. Overall I enjoyed the writing and I highlighted a lot. Can't wait to read Aidan's story!!...more

Thanks SO much, Shin for the rec!!!
It's my first book by this author. As I am not a fan of paranormal, shapeshifters and all, I didn't plan on reading it, but the curiosity won. And I am so happy I gave it a try because it was SO good!!! This author created such a sweet love story and a very unique world. I absolutely adored the soulbond! Kane and Luca/Ghost were perfect together. I loved everything about them. Everything! Kane was strong and a perfect future clan leader. Luca was super sweet. Loved their powers! If I have to admit what didn't really work for me would be the fact that we have to wait SO much for Luca to return to his clan. The waiting was painful, but when Luca and Kane reconnected, it was glorious!...more

This is my first book by this author. It started pretty good and I actually enjoyed it, but at one point it became unexpectedly sweet. It's not something I've enjoyed lately. When both main characters are super reserved and keep their distance for months, but they use the L word all of the sudden, well I kind of rolled my eyes.
Their back stories are very sad, but I've enjoyed how it all fell into place in the end. A little unbelievable, but that's OK. Wish in real life some parents could wake up sooner rather than later and try to save their relationships with their kids. Even if they were absent most of their lives.
So overall it was a nice story and it kept my interest. I've read it in one sitting and can't wait to read the next books. Looking at all those high ratings, I'd say I'll need to read them soon.

So today being Sunday, lazy Sunday, I got the chance to just sit and relax so I took it. Little did I know I won't be able to put it down. It's not a long book and it was just what I needed today.
This book contains SO many stories, mostly short and funny, but there were some sad ones too. I had no idea what I will get when I opened it. Oh it's been such a long time since I've read a paperback AND a book in Romanian. I am pretty happy with what I got. It left me with a smile on my face. Good job Mr. Officer!...more

It pains me to admit this was my least favorite in the series. I had such high hopes for this one. I've been dying to get to Cael and As3,5 rounded up
It pains me to admit this was my least favorite in the series. I had such high hopes for this one. I've been dying to get to Cael and Ash's story. I absolutely loved them in all the other books, but here I didn't get what I expected. I wanted to smack Ash so many times! I felt like this dragged too much. There were SO many unnecessary scenes and Cael was super patient! I know I couldn't be this patient.
We already know about Ash's sad past from the previous books. So here we don't get much more. I didn't like his POV. He just didn't let Cael in.
Thank God Dex comes along and makes me laugh so much, again! Actually he and Sloane were present most of the book so I think I got to enjoy it because of them.
We get a lot of drama, from Cael's past and also from Ash's. They are hot together but there wasn't much tension and I have to admit some scenes were too sugary sweet for my taste. I just wanted a little more. A little more tension, more surprises on the way. They kind of fell into place too easily.
I'm rounding up because the last chapters kept me glued to the pages. We get again suspense and many unexpected turns. I loved how Sloane kept his ground and defended their team in front of a very scary Sparks.
I love this series and I adore how it still surprises me....more

What I really LOVED here would be that DEX and Sloane's relationship became stronger! *sigh* And things are starting to move between Cael and Ash and Calvin and Hobbs. Finally!!!
Some scenes are hard to believe and over the top, but overall I absolutely adore these characters and Dex still makes me laugh SO hard!!!
I've had a busy week, but I've read in each and every spare moment. This series is SO addictive and I love the writing!!! I'm looking forward for Cael and Ash's story!!! ...more
After finishing Wolves of Black Pine I needed to know what happens next with Kane and Ghost/Luca. It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger4,5 stars rounded up
After finishing Wolves of Black Pine I needed to know what happens next with Kane and Ghost/Luca. It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger but it was close. I was super afraid for them and I had so many scenarios in my head. Well maybe that's why I got a little disappointed with how their trial for violation of Law and blasphemy went. I mean, a big part of the book revolves around this trial, and we do get to see how the traitors are punished, BUT it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat. Or to be more specific I'd say it was a lot of noise for nothing actually.
What I really loved would be the great surprise the author had for us in the end! I couldn't be happier! My favorite chapter: "Love, like the soul, never dies" Wren was a nice surprise too. Burke deserved to find his soulbond too. And Caius, well I was conflicted about him. He mistreated his children and Kane so I held some grudges, but his heart never recovered after losing Gray Shadow.
Well I loved how everything fell into place in the end. The last 20% made me rate it with 5 stars. We get a lot of action, suspense AND many surprises! ...more
