Nagoriyuki Guilty Gear Strive

Summary

Nagoriyuki is a character in the Guilty Gear series, introduced in Guilty Gear STRIVE. He is a noble samurai and one of two Nightwalkers, beings endowed with exceptional strength but cursed with a hunger for human blood. During STRIVE's story, he is captured and manipulated by Happy Chaos, during which time he develops a martial rivalry with Sol Badguy.

Powers and Stats

Tier: Low 1-C, higher with Blood Rage | At least Low 1-C

Name: Nagoriyuki

Origin: Guilty Gear

Gender: Male

Age: Likely hundreds of years old

Classification: Noble Vampire Samurai

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Weapon Mastery, Afterimage Creation, Absorption and limited Regeneration with vampirism (Should work the same as Slayer, who claims he can absorb anything that constitutes a "source of vitality", not just blood), Immortality (Types 1, 3 and 7), Rage Power, Blood Manipulation (Can increase the length of his sword with an opponent's shed blood), can negate regeneration with his sword strikes, limited Energy Projection of an unknown nature, Information Analysis (Able to sense weak points), Resistance to Mind Manipulation (Broke free of Happy Chaos' mind control for a short time, which normal people were unable to do) | All previous abilities, plus Higher-Dimensional Existence (4-D. As a Nightless, Nagoriyuki is a demi-human, an existence that lacks an ID[1], making him a multi-dimensional being due to Bedman becoming one as a result of deleting his own ID[1]), Acausality (Types 3 & 4) and Resistance to Biological Manipulation, Physics Manipulation, and Time Manipulation (As a Nightless, Nagoriyuki is a demi-human, an existence that is the same across Independent Segments[1] and dwells across infinite timelines due to lacking an ID[1], along with transcending genetics, physics, and even time[1])

Attack Potency: Low Complex Multiverse level (Not much weaker than when he is in Blood Rage, as he can still clash with Sol Badguy in his base form[2] despite him also contending with his Blood Rage state[2]), higher with Blood Rage (Engaged in a prolonged clash with Merged I-No[3]) | At least Low Complex Multiverse level (As a Nightless, Nagoriyuki is a demi-human, an existence whose true form must downconvert themselves in order to exist in the real world[1], implying his true form is stronger than any self of his that properly exists in the real world)

Speed: At least Relativistic+ (Can move fast enough to be imperceptible to Sol Badguy, who is this fast) | At least Relativistic+, likely far higher (Should be significantly faster than any self of his that properly exists in the real world)

Lifting Strength: At least Class P (Comparable to Sol) | At least Class P, likely far higher (Should be significantly stronger than any self of his that properly exists in the real world)

Striking Strength: Low Complex Multiverse level (Traded blows with Sol[4]) | At least Low Complex Multiverse level (Should be significantly stronger than any self of his that properly exists in the real world)

Durability: Low Complex Multiverse level (Survived blows from Sol[4]) | At least Low Complex Multiverse level (Should be significantly more durable than any self of his that properly exists in the real world)

Stamina: Very high. His ability to take punishment and continue fighting is higher than every other character in STRIVE with the exception of Potemkin. However, his stamina rapidly drains while Blood Rage is active.

Range: Extended Melee Range normally with his sword, increasing to Several Meters with Blood Rage active. Thousands of Kilometers with his attacks

Standard Equipment: His ōdachi, which is made of a special metal that negates regeneration, his wakizashi (which is not), and his mask

Intelligence: Unknown, as he is under Chaos' mind control for most of his time in the story. Likely Gifted in the art of combat

Weaknesses: If he spills too much blood without feeding he will enter Blood Rage, which increases his range and damage but impairs his judgement, limiting his ability to use his most advanced technique, Wasureyuki, and rapidly drains his stamina. He also leaves himself very open upon its activation. He holds himself to the code of bushido and will not use underhanded techniques in combat.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Fukyo: Nagoriyuki moves forward or backward along the ground at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye. Increases the Blood Gauge, which, when full, activates Blood Rage.
  • Zarameyuki: Nagoriyuki sends an afterimage to attack with a dashing strike. Greatly increases the Blood Gauge.
  • Kamuriyuki: Nagoriyuki delivers a high sword strike, then spins around and delivers a low sword strike from a sitting position. Greatly increases the Blood Gauge.
  • Shizuriyuki: Nagoriyuki swings his sword in a crescent upward, then downward, ahead of himself. Greatly increases the Blood Gauge.
  • Bloodsucking Universe: Nagoriyuki grabs his opponent and drains their vitality. Immediately halts any ongoing increases to the Blood Gauge and decreases it to zero.
  • Blood Rage: A burst of blood explodes from Nagoriyuki's face as his mask shatters. Deals no damage, only knocking opponents away, and leaves him very open.

Overdrives:

  • Wasureyuki: Nagoriyuki strikes the opponent with a sudden slash, then rises into the air with consecutive slashes. Greatly decreases the Blood Gauge. He cannot use it in Blood Rage.
  • Zansetsu: Nagoriyuki winds up and delivers one enormous strike with his sword. Usable only in Blood Rage and ends it immediately.
