~ Bedman |
Summary
Bedman (ベッドマン, Beddoman) is a character in the Guilty Gear series, who first appears as a playable character in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. He and his sister Delilah were born with such colossal intelligence that their brains would eventually collapse under the strain, so he has spent his entire life in a medically induced coma. A tiny fraction of his unconscious mind allows him to operate with supergenius intellect even while asleep. He served the mysterious ends of the Sanctus Maximus Populi Ariels, under the impression that the power of Absolute World would allow him to shape reality and recover his sister's consciousness from the depths of the dream world they reside in. Tragically, after waking himself up to avoid being killed by Robo-Ky and Venom, Ariels appeared to him and taunted him about the true nature of their goal - the eradication of all humanity - as his condition rapidly degenerated. In a rage, he initiated an incomplete Absolute World field, transferring his soul into his animate bed frame and retrieving his sister from the dream world before his body gave out.
Powers and Stats
Tier: High 5-A, possibly Low 1-C with Absolute World
Name: Bedman, real name Romeo F. Neumann
Origin: Guilty Gear
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Classification: Human, Contract Killer, Affiliate of Sanctus Populi
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence, Regeneration (Low-Mid), Explosion Manipulation (Capable of creating explosions with his punches), Sound Manipulation, Self-Sustenance (Type 1), Precognition (His intelligence lets him accurately predict what will happen next), Dimensional Travel and Teleportation (Capable of traveling to different dimensions instantly), Telepathy, Memory Manipulation (Temporarily erased Elphelt's memory), Magic as Information Manipulation (Magic in GG is a result of manipulation of information in the Backyard), Forcefield Creation, BFR (Can teleport someone to the Backyard), Sleep Manipulation, Time Manipulation and Duplication with Déjà Vu, Can trap his target in a nightmare world made up of their worst fear (This has shown to be powerful enough to even trap That Man, and dying in the nightmare kills the target in real life), Reality Warping, Durability Negation, Existence Erasure, Law Manipulation and Resurrection (Able to warp, resurrect and erase others in the dream world, though he doesn't have these in the real world while comatose. Also stated that his words are rules within his world), Possession (Possessed his bed after dying), Spatial Manipulation, Transmutation, Soul Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Deconstruction, Death Manipulation, Biological Manipulation, Matter Manipulation and Disease Manipulation (Temporarily created Absolute World, which will kill any lifeforms, erases everything within the area, and merge the Backyard, an alternate dimension composed of chaotic information that breaks down the fundamental laws of anything inside, and reality), Higher-Dimensional Existence and Acausality (4-D & Type 3. Deleted his own ID, making himself a multi-dimensional being[1] and making his existence the same across Independent Segments[1] and one that dwells across infinite timelines[1]) Resistance to Extreme Cold, Cosmic Radiations, Death Manipulation, Existence Erasure, Reality Warping, Transmutation, Information Manipulation, Deconstruction, Biological Manipulation, Spatial Manipulation and Disease Manipulation (Temporarily resisted Absolute World which will kill every lifeforms, deconstruct matter at sub-atomic to macro quantum level, erase everything in the universe and create information flares), Matter Manipulation, Spiritual and Mental attacks (Able to reside in his dream world, which is part of the Backyard), Sleep Manipulation (Constantly in a medically induced coma but still conscious), Power Nullification (Magic beyond the twelve Divine Steps, like Bedman's, is immune to traditional countermagic) and Empathic Manipulation (Able to resist Elphelt's Instant Kill to some extent)
Attack Potency: Brown Dwarf level (Capable of killing Ramlethal[2]. A consistent threat to the whole cast of Xrd -Sign- and -Revelator- through their respective stories, acting as the right-hand of Ariels and unharmed by most of the cast even while fighting at a small percentage of his power[3]), possibly Low Complex Multiverse level with Absolute World (Is able to cause an Absolute World on his own[4], which is a phenomenon in which the boundaries between the Backyard and the living world are blurred and the two realms merge for a brief moment.[5] However, he is only shown creating a localized version of it[4])
Speed: At least Relativistic+, likely higher (Impressed Slayer with his speed, avoiding several of his attacks and catching him off-guard. Pinned Chipp Zanuff)
Lifting Strength: At least Class P (Capable of matching Slayer in terms of strength)
Striking Strength: Brown Dwarf level (Cut Slayer's arm off[3])
Durability: Brown Dwarf level (His bed clashed with a semi-serious Slayer and only suffered a severed arm[3]. Survived the epicenter of Robo-Ky's self-destruction immediately followed by Teramachina System[6])
Stamina: Below Average (Thanks to his advanced brain. He has been asleep for his entire life, as even 4 minutes of his true intelligence would place lethal metabolic strain on his body. His bed frame, being mechanical, likely has Superhuman stamina)
Range: Extended Melee Range normally; Thousands of Kilometers with attacks; Low Complex Multiversal with teleportation and BFR.
Standard Equipment: His reinforced bed frame, which is strong and fast enough to overwhelm Johnny, Chipp and even Slayer, and armed with powerful robotic appendages, extending spikes, missiles, and a concussive alarm clock.
Intelligence: Supergenius (Possesses an inhuman IQ[7], further supported by him stating that an IQ of 200 at minimum is required to even be friends with him[8]. In fact, this is all while he remains asleep, as he was born too intelligent for his brain to keep up with, forcing him to remain in a coma and in a world of dreams[9]. If he were to wake up, he would only be able to survive for a short period of time[4] before his advanced mental processes petrify his body, killing him.[4] Jack-O Valentine even notes that when he is awake, his physical memory cannot keep up with the speed of his thoughts[10], in addition to stating that she has never encountered anyone with as much knowledge about magic as him[10] despite being created by and knowing Asuka R. Kreutz. Trapped Asuka with the ultimate defense spell, Absolute Defense: Felion[11], despite its authorization restrictions - a spell which Asuka himself admits to have trouble decoding[11] and earlier admits to being unable to dispel.[12] Such a feat would require immense knowledge in physics, as the use of magic is heavily linked with physics, such that the teaching of it is known as Magic Physics.[7] Should be superior in intelligence to Happy Chaos, whose intelligence does not cause him to suffer a condition like Bedman's, in addition to possessing "inhuman" IQ despite the former's already immeasurable IQ)
Weaknesses: Compulsively talkative. Extremely condescending and rarely, if ever, fights at full power. Cannot speak, warp and erase in the physical world, and his brain is not functioning at full capacity. If he ever wakes up or is separated from his bedframe, he only has 4 minutes before his own thought process will overload his physical form and petrify his body.
