You think I'll listen to you? I brought you into this world. YOU ARE MY DESIGN.
„
~ Void Steve revealing that it was him who set Sabre's adventures in motion.
“
I am the first Rainbow Steve. I have always been the hero of this story.
„
~ Void Steve to Sabre in the World Below.
“
You know, I sense your friendships play a large part in your value system. Yet I, who has known you the longest has no friendship with you. No one else has known you as long as I have. You are my design, Sabre. I am the reason to your being in this world. And I will make sure I remove you from it.
„
~ Void Steve commenting on his relationship with Sabre, and how he's evidently more closer to him than any of his other friends.
Seer, formerly Blue Steve and later known as Void Steve, is the main antagonist of the Steve Cinematic Universe. He serves as the main antagonist of Rainbow Quest, the corrupted tritagonist of the Season 2 of Steve Legends and a posthumous antagonist in Twisted Rainbow.
In Rainbow Quest, he serves as the overarching antagonist of Seasons 1 and 2, the main antagonist of Seasons 3 and 5, the posthumous overarching antagonist of Season 4 and a posthumous antagonist in Seasons 6 and 7.
He is the creator, hive mind and true leader of the Darkness, having been responsible for working behind the scenes to fulfil his plan of ceasing worldwide conflict and bringing peace, and has orchestrated many events throughout the series, manipulating various key individuals into playing a part in his plans. He is by far one of the most powerful and dangerous threats that Sabre and his crew have encountered, being the strongest Darkness and an exceptionally twisted, deceptive and malevolent individual.
It was eventually revealed that Void Steve used to be a regular Blue Steve and was the first identity of Rainbow Steve, who became the Hero to avenge a fallen friend and put a stop to the Demon Steves, a great evil he blamed himself for accidentally unleashing. Unfortunately, his desires to end all conflict and save the Steves from evil lead to him turning to extreme measures, resulting in him slipping into madness and creating the Darkness as a form of protection against the Demon Steves and a tool to use in his quest to revert the world to nothing so true peace and unity could be achieved. He is Colle's former friend as well as his and FavreMySabre's arch-nemesis.
I don't care about your petty emotions. I am a living void, who feels no amount of empathy!
„
~ Void Steve showing his utter lack of remorse.
“
I am glad I am feared. I am glad I am a force to be reckoned with. I am glad I am a vessel for the Darkness.
„
~ Rainbow Void taking glee in being a feared monster.
For the most part, Seer was jovial, bright and sweet-natured with a positive outlook on life. Even when interacting with strangers, Seer showed a strong urge to help others whenever he could and made sure his accomplices felt comfortable in uncomfortable situations, such as reassuring Colle and the Red, Ocean and Winters Leaders in their mindscapes. As his adventures escalated into becoming more dangerous, Seer grew to become more confident and independent, but still close and protective towards his allies, and even though he would later have his differences with Colle show as a result of the incident with Dread Steve, he still kept him close and valued him as a friend. When becoming Rainbow Steve, he willingly allowed himself to become the Hero even if the experiment to transform him killed him or erased his memories, demonstrating that all Seer wanted to do was help people and would put his life on the line if it meant saving others.
Although he seemed relatively stable on the outside, after the incident with Dread Steve, Seer began to experience intense mental distress due to seeing how his future would end up. He became more reclusive, but still urged for Colle to speak about his experience so he wouldn't feel alone. When angrily confronted by Colle as to why he wouldn't open about what he saw, Seer flew into a rage, completely furious, as he knew that what he saw was far worse than the hallucinations Colle had been subjected to, which was nothing compared to Seer's future being shown right before his eyes. Fortunately, Seer and Colle peacefully resolved their issues, but Seer was still wracked with guilt from Dream Steve's death, blaming himself for what happened and offering himself to become Rainbow Steve to avenge his death.
However, Seer's susceptibility to Dread Steve's manipulation pushed him over the edge into becoming a full-blown villain in a matter of days, abandoning all of his good qualities in favour of becoming something dark and twisted. Evil, tyrannical, intimidating, cruel and utterly devoid of empathy, Void Steve is the very definition of heartless evil, even if he doesn't realize it. The personification of pure malevolence and darkness, Void embodies what it means to be a delusional, villainous, chaotic totalitarian. He has ruthlessly killed, tortured, enslaved, brainwashed and manipulated countless people, all to serve his self-fulfilling goals. His motivation, whilst being driven by good intentions, are ultimately beneficial to him only, and he knows it, as he desires to place the Steves under one sole dictatorship where evil is non-existent.
Undoubtedly, Void Steve's most beneficial quality is his intellect. Having been alive for generations and existing since the Demon Steve War, Void is highly knowledgeable on various aspects of Steve culture, having grown up with extensive knowledge surrounding the Demon Steves and the World Below that not even the Red Steves were aware of, and was able to easily sense that they were the ones attacking the Obsidian Citadel. Even after many years, Void was able to put his engineering knowledge to good use when constructing the Temple which Sabre would later find when entering the Steves' world, as well as building machines that could hold his victims in place and transform them into mindless minions of Darkness. Void is also an excellent strategist, not only was he able to construct a plot to lure a human into the Steves' world, he is also able to easily orchestrate attacks on entire cities, kingdoms and towns and overpower their populations within minutes. Not only is he proficient in his attacks, but Void also knew who to attack, having targeted the World Beyond mainly due to the threat that a certain Blue Steve posed to his plans. During his final moments, Void purposefully retained information about the Demon Steves, knowing that his death would lead to their release and further torment of Sabre.
Not only is Void Steve a capable planner and tactician, he is exceptional in his abilities to manipulate, deceive and lie to people without remorse. Adding into his ability to effortlessly orchestrate plans to his liking, Void was patient enough to plan a strategy spanning generations of an endless imprisonment that would allow him to escape from the Void. When encountering Sabre for the first time, Void played into human curiosity and purposefully lured Sabre with an astral projection into the Tomb where he would be released. Void's manipulation also extended to the entirety of the Steve race, having created a false prophecy to erase his identity as Rainbow Steve from existence in order to protect his legacy, as without the knowledge of his past life as Rainbow Steve, Void would have no problems with manipulating any future Rainbow Steves into falling to corruption. Void also preferred using methods of psychological manipulation to his advantage, using his telepathic link to the Darkness to gain insight on the happenings in the world. With the knowledge of the infected Violet Steves' torment of Rainbow Steve, Void effortlessly gaslit Rainbow into viewing himself as a failure, and that his true strength and potential would fully be realized if he joined the Darkness. Even though he could implant a seed of doubt into most regular entities, ones that he had infected with Darkness were more susceptible to falling for his facade of caring for them and promises of power, safety and security. Void is also capable of somewhat feigning a sense of honor, having challenged Sabre to a genuinely fair fight, but as it progressed, Void took to employing cowardly tactics to gain leverage over Sabre when he realized he was losing, proving he has no real sense of honor and is, at his core, a complete and utter coward.
Void Steve is the textbook definition of a psychopath, notably his display of a complete lack of empathy towards others due to willingly abandoning it. Having embraced his emotionless in the wake of destroying the last remaining good within him, Void is proud of the fact that he lacks empathy and cannot feel anything but animosity and superiority towards others, openly gloating about his lack of empathy towards his enemies and embracing his chaotic nature. Owing to his psychotic behaviour, mental instability and cruelty, Void takes sadistic pleasure in ruining the lives of innocent people and prefers to emotionally torment his victims before killing them. He has massacred thousands of people to satisfy his deluded ideals without a single shred of remorse for his actions. He is not above toying with his victims and the people they affect, as after killing Rainbow Steve and Funny Orange Steve, all he could do was taunt Sabre over their deaths, and openly took glee in mocking the lives of the Forest Steves he had massacred in front of Genesis. Not only is he a ruthless, murderous, vile, warmongering monster, he also enjoys abusing his victims both physically and psychologically. When he confronted his old friend, Blue Steve, and was accused of lying about his friends' fate, he struck him with lightning, simply to prove that he was serious. Although Void is primarily serious and stern, he doesn't pass any opportunity to be as sadistic, heartless and cold-blooded as he can be, and delights in seeing the misery of others fold before him. Owing to his lack of empathy, Void shows zero care for anyone but himself, seeing the Darkness and the Demon Steves as mere pawns in his game, and openly states his lack of care for Soul and Corruption Steve, his two most loyal henchmen. On top of that, Void had no care for the Darkness' ulterior goals in general and knew about their treacherous nature, but chose not to do anything about it as he sought to use them for his world conquering purposes. Void also enjoys his feared reputation and even admits that he's glad he inspires and generates fear and terror.
Despite his highly calculating, calm and intimidating demeanour, Void Steve is, at his core, an insane, power-hungry megalomaniac who will do anything to regain the power he lost and take back what he believes to be rightfully his. With an ego the size of the universe itself, Void is a compulsively egotistical, theatrical and eccentric narcissist who values power and control over compassion and loyalty. Void has an intense superiority complex, viewing himself as the strongest being in the universe and arguably its most important, seeing himself as the cure for the chaos running amuck in the world and the true savior of all Steves. Adding to his sadistic torment of others, Void typically aims his ammunition against weaker beings that pose little threats or resistance to his tyranny or power. Void's obsession with regaining the lost power of the Rainbow Crystals has lead him to valuing power over everything and everyone, caring more about mystical material possessions that can assist him in his goals as opposed to loyal and devoted minions, which is apparent during his final confrontation with Sabre, appearing genuinely disappointed that even after lending Sabre total power, he still didn't join him in his crusade. Void also has a morbid fascination with control, with regaining control over a dedicated and loyal army being his primary focus upon being released from the World Below, and as noted by Sabre during that same interaction, he understands how far Void has fallen and how arrogant and egotistical he has become. His arrogance, however, has proven time and time again to be his biggest flaw, with his overconfidence shining during every one of his final battles, continuously underestimating Sabre despite being aware of all he has learned.
Despite how ruthless, immoral and chaotic he is in his goals and overall behaviour, Void Steve doesn't see himself as evil, despite enjoying the power that comes with being filled with malice. He genuinely believes that he's the hero and has somewhat of a savior complex, viewing himself as the protagonist of the story, as in his eyes, he's only doing what he does to save the Steves and prevent the world from being thrusted into more chaos by ending all conflict by reverting the world to nothing. With the Darkness acting as the only thing holding the Demon Steves back and him being the creator of it, he feels entitled to ride a moral high-horse, as he explained to Colle before his imprisonment, killing him would only release the Demon Steves back into the world, effectively securing his position as a necessary evil. Even when joining the Demon Steves, Void still saw himself as the hero and, although he could no longer go back to his plans of turning the world to nothing, plotted to use the Demon Steves to continue his goal of establishing a sole rule over the world and using his control over them to bring order and peace. His opinion that he was ultimately in the right is ultimately self-righteous and only benefits himself, despite him seeing his views as the solution that'll benefit existence itself. Completely unapologetic, Void forces his belief onto others and reacts with anger and disgust when either his views are denied or he's seen as a villain. While he might have once been a cataclysmic maniac who shifted his goals to a more benevolent motivation, his final arc as a demon continued to show his fall as he now only desired to continue to see himself as the hero in his own delusions by any means necessary.
Despite this, Void Steve became Rainbow Steve in order to avenge the death of Dream Steve, blaming himself for causing his death by killing Dread Steve, since the two had their lives tethered together. As such, Seer became the Hero in order to make up for causing the death of one of his friends. Void also chose not to kill Colle at first, however, both of these qualities were willingly shed as Void progressively became more and more power-hungry and insane, culminating in him willingly separating the good fighting from within himself and destroying it, expressing pride and joy in not being able to feel anymore empathy for anyone. Furthermore, he didn't kill Colle because he wanted him to join him, and only spared him in particular since he felt he could easily overpower and manipulate him compared to other beings such as creators, showing that he willingly ditched his friendship with Colle in favour of becoming a monster. Additionally, despite his reasonable tragedy, no character shows him any sympathy, even Colle, after apologizing for not being there for him, could only lament on how Seer had become nothing but pure evil and vowed to stop him, showing zero empathy for having to imprison Void and instead remembered him for the person he once was, knowing that he was too far gone. Even after learning his past, Sabre's eventual bargaining with Void to stop his evil went nowhere, and he understood that the only reasonable solution was killing Void, once and for all. Furthermore, upon seeing his future, Seer could've easily changed his future by not following through with becoming Void Steve and falling for Dread Steve's manipulation, but willingly went through with it since he saw it as inevitable and saw no way to change it.
Overall, despite his good intentions and tragic backstory, Void Steve shed most of his redeeming qualities in favour of taking his goals to the extreme, becoming even more monstrous than the threats he originally sought to fight and protect the Steves against. With the generations progressing and his imprisonment extending, his sanity only decreased despite, willing to kill, enslave and manipulate everyone around him in order to achieve his delusional goals of peace and ending conflict across the world. His psychological torture of Sabre, genocide of several races and sadistic streak of cruelty by far makes him Sabre's most dangerous and personal nemesis.

“
Rainbow Steve, I can tell you're tired of LOSING. I could sense what the Violet Steve said. The Darkness, is like a hive mind of sorts. I can hear everything that the Darkness is attached to. The more Darkness there is, the stronger the bonds are.. The stronger WE become... I mean, the Steves have been falling apart for generations... But the Darkness has only been getting stronger... While your people are stronger the more you stick together, the Darkness gets more stronger the more we take over. So, Rainbow Steve, let me ask you this... How would you like to win for once?

„
~ Void Steve before extracting Rainbow Steve and the rest of the crystals.
“

„
~ Void Steve expressing delight in seeing Sabre and Elemental Steve exchange their final words before he prepares to strike them down, but is halted by the intervention of Time Steve.
“
So, now that Rainbow Steve is gone, I am sure that all of the Steves and Sabre are here. However, I do not sense anything. I would think that since I have these powers, I would be able to sense them all easily. But no. These powers are not functioning to the extent I want them to. Do you two sense anything? (Soul and Corruption both shake their heads) Hm. These powers are not as I remember. Perhaps they have changed over the generations.. I wouldn't be surprised, however.. Once I get these powers working, this will be the end of the Steves in this hub, and everywhere else. I WILL find the Steves in hiding. (Rainbow Void turns his attention to the portals) These portals.. hmm.. very interesting. We could certainly use them for the next step in our plan..
„
~ Rainbow Void spectating the desolate Rainbow Hub (which, in actuality, is a decoy set up above the Rainbow Bunker moved underground).
“
What was that? I sense something.. Look around, leave no stone untouched.

„
~ Void Steve responding to Time Steve's comment.
“
This is just a game.. And you are all pawns.
„
~ Rainbow Void mocking Sabre and Time Steve.
“
Like I said, you're all just pawns in my game, and it's time for another pawn to fall, and for another piece to move forward.
„
~ Rainbow Void insinuating himself as the mastermind before killing Funny Orange Steve on the spot.
“
Like I said, this is just a game.
„
~ Rainbow Void re-affirming his point after killing Funny Orange Steve.
~ Soul Steve and Rainbow Void analyzing Sabre's corruption.
“
He's gone, just like Rainbow Steve.
„
~ Rainbow Void stating that Funny Orange Steve is gone, just like Rainbow Steve.
“
I have been expecting you. Follow me, you must tell me of your journey with the others.
„
~ Rainbow Void greeting Sabre outside his lair, believing him to still be on his side.
“
Oh.. I'd be happy to tell you about that, but I need you to do one more thing for me before I tell you about that. There is a Yellow Outpost near our base and they are a bit.. too comfortable with being on the offensive. Please take care of them.
„
~ Rainbow Void ordering Sabre to take care of the Yellow Steve outpost.
“
Well, you see, we aim to destroy the new kingdom. The Rainbow Kingdom. I believe you've heard of the kingdom, am I correct?
„

“
Are you implying that I do not have the final say?

“
Welcome home, Sabre, I've been waiting for you.
„
~ Rainbow Void welcoming Sabre back to his lair, now knowing that he's been undercover.
“

„
~ Rainbow Void attempting to stall Sabre.
“
We showed you power. We showed you the Darkness. We gave you the sword, your power that you hold. You know what? You are right, it is time to finally END this.
„
~ Rainbow Void before removing his cloak.
“
This is my true power.
„
~ Rainbow Void showcasing his half-rainbow body.
“
I am a hero. A hero of the Darkness. Something that you would not understand Sabre.
„
~ Rainbow Void proclaiming himself as a hero before fighting Sabre.
“
Too much?! No. I think it's just the right amount.
„
~ Rainbow Void on his power.
“
I have no care for them.
„
~ Rainbow Void claiming he doesn't care in the slightest about Soul and Corruption Steve.
“
I will not lose. Ever.
„
~ Rainbow Void
“
Still using the power of the Darkness. Power is power. It does not matter how it is used.
„
~ Rainbow Void after seeing Sabre use the Darkness
“
Yes, yes I do. I do not care of my use, as long as I have a purpose for the Darkness.
„
~ Rainbow Void stating that he knows the Darkness isn't fond of him, but doesn't care.
“
I do not fear you.
„
~ Rainbow Void to Sabre.
“
How... how dare you!
„
~ Rainbow Void after being weakened to the point of death.
“
How ironic. The Darkness inside of your head, it failed, didn't it?
„
~ Rainbow Void to Sabre.
“
I am not the end of this, I will not be the end. I am the gate that contains something worse. Do you know what? I'll let you figure that one out for yourself when it comes to it.
„
~ Rainbow Void's last words before his death, foreshadowing a greater evil worse than him.
Season 5
“
Well, well, well. Look who it is.
„
~ Void Steve greeting Sabre in the World Below.
“
Oh? HA! Help me!? H- HA! You can't help someone who DOESN'T WANT TO BE HELPED.
„
~ Void Steve refusing Sabre's offer to help him.
“
These things, these demons - are more powerful than anything you've seen, right? Even me! HA! Even I couldn't stop them!
„
~ Void Steve talking about the Demon Steves to Sabre.
“
That's a, how do I say this. A story - a lie. I didn't create the Darkness after I saved the people. I created the Darkness TO SAVE the people.
„
~ Void Steve revealing that he created the Darkness to fight against the Demon Steves.
“
Ha- I created the Darkness to SAVE the people. And YOU destroyed it. What a shame! Too bad there isn't any left!
„
~ Void Steve gloating to Sabre.
“
There isn't, trust me. I've searched every dimension, every power source. Are you going to be a hero, or become the next Void? You tell me.
„
~ Void Steve stating that the Darkness is the only thing that can defeat the Demon Steves, whilst also taunting Sabre.
“
Welcome back, SABRE!
„
~ Void Steve greeting Sabre once again in the World Below.
“
No, no, no, we can't have any distractions.
„
~ Void Steve before presumably destroying Shadow Sabre, revealing that he could see him.
“
Isn't the view nice, Sabre? If only everywhere was like this.
„
~ Void Steve showing that he has truly slipped into complete insanity.
“
I see you've used the Darkness again. The sword, the Darkness still exists in it.
„
~ Void Steve acknowledging the Shadow Sword's existence.
“
Ah, yes, one of the tricks I used originally. To make sure you wouldn't get brave with the sword, try and destroy it and whatnot. I purposefully made it indestructible, to ensure that nothing can stop it.
„
~ Void Steve revealing the truth behind the Shadow Sword to Sabre.
“
I don't ask, I take.
„
~ Void Steve
“
I'd like to see you try, even I couldn't destroy them.
„
~ Void Steve to Sabre.
“
I'm happy to hear you're able to use the Darkness even without me, and destroy the Demon Steves. Good to know...
„
~ Void Steve to Sabre before sending him back to the overworld.
“
Well, I see you've defeated the demons. And- wow, even without the sword.
„
~ Void Steve commended Sabre's efforts.
“
Oh? I can't? RULES!? HA! You think I care about RULES!?
„
~ Void Steve responded to Sabre's question about the alleged rules of the World Below.
“
You think I'm going to let you just talk over me, Sabre?
„
~ Void Steve once again acknowledging Shadow Sabre's existence.
“
How strong could I be?! I'LL SHOW YOU!
„
~ Void Steve upon Light challenging his powers before attacking him.
“
Threaten me again, I dare you.
„
~ Void Steve after attacking Light.
“
Last time we faced off, we both had the Darkness. Now I have something even more powerful.
„
~ Void Steve
“
How would Rainbow Steve feel, you using the Darkness? He would be ashamed to ever have called you a friend.
„
~ Void Steve using Rainbow Steve's death to guilt-trip Sabre.
“
Well, well, well, I didn't think you'd actually open a connection. Bold of you...
„
~ Void Steve speaking to Sabre through their connection.
“
He isn't just any old Darkness. Not entirely. I gave you some of MY Darkness. My personal sample. Of course. I did the same thing with Soul and Corruption, a gift to my highest of course.
„
~ Void Steve revealing Shadow Sabre's origins.
“
In your mindscape I can control your perception of Shadow. I can't do anything to him in the physical realm.
„
~ Void Steve
“
Oh, another pawn... good.
„
~ Void Steve upon seeing Dark.
“
I have no need to fight you myself. Because I have these...
„
~ Void before summoning several Demon Steves to fight Sabre.
“
I, am liberated. The shackles of the normal world. I am beyond you now.
„
~ Void Steve
“
You think I care? Do it. I dare you. I'll let you.
„
~ Void Steve before being destroyed, only to return to life moments later.
“
This, is MY design. MY WORLD. And I can make it into whatever I want to.
„
~ Void Steve to Sabre.
“
Oh, and thank you for bringing Dark back, I never formally met him.
„
~ Void Steve to Sabre.
“
You're weak. Why don't you come back to me when you're more powerful?
„
~ Void Steve before sending Sabre back to the overworld.
“
Oh! So you're planning on destroying me? Well, I GLADLY accept the challenge.
„
~ Void Steve showing up upon hearing Sabre stating he has a new method to kill him.
“
You think you've solved it. That's the issue. Darkness is the issue here.
„
~ Void Steve doubting that Sabre can destroy him with the Rainbow Crystal.
“
You're using the Darkness, oh.. I don't know if Rainbow Steve would be disappointed.. or overjoyed.
„
~ Void Steve roping the late Rainbow Steve into his discussion with Sabre in an attempt to lower his morale.
“
Oh, good try, good try.. but that's just simply NOT good enough. Why don't you.. simply try again?
„
~ Void Steve in response to Sabre's first attempt to remove his immortality.
“
Oh, you were so close! But yet, again, that wasn't good enough. I can't believe you almost got me, but yet, you failed. Again.
„
~ Void Steve upon seeing the shattered Rainbow Crystal in Sabre's second attempt to de-immortalize him, which nearly succeeded.
“
The Rainbow Crystal shattered. What a shame. I really thought that you would've put up a better fight with the Darkness than this, but really, this was just.. pathetic. You'll see. You'll all see how this world's view is going to get much, much better. If that's all you got, then I guess I win. And you lose.
„
~ Void Steve mocking Sabre's near-fatal attempt to remove his immortality.
“
I've been waiting. I see you've brought your friends. Bring them down, I don't mind, I'll accept the challenge, especially if it's from the Darkness.
„
~ Void Steve upon seeing that Sabre has shown up to his arena for the final fight.
“
Ah, yes, I haven't explained that to you or your friends, have I? This time, my final goal isn't to force you to accept the Darkness, no, no.. much on the opposite side of the spectrum. I want to defeat the ultimate user of Darkness, which, my friend, is you. I'm not confident in these new abilities yet, but win or lose, we will prove who's stronger.
„
~ Void Steve revealing that he wants to be the one to rid Sabre of the Darkness, as he is its current, most powerful host.
“
Oh, very clever. How poetic, I return to the form I first met you in. I'm happy this way, Sabre, no advantages, just pure power and skill. You may have removed my immortality, but the rest of my abilities remain intact.
„
~ Void Steve upon having been reverted to the form of Blue Spirit by Time Steve before beginning his final fight with Sabre.
“
Hah! I told you to come back when you were stronger. You clearly did not listen. I am eager to see how this plays out.
„
~ Void Steve after surprising Sabre with a fireball attack.
“
Oh, taking in more of the Darkness? I guess that means you need to get closer to me then. Good luck.
„
~ Void Steve observing Sabre take in more of the Darkness and knowing how it'll affect his combat skills.
“
It's funny, Sabre.. You and I have begun to blur as individuals. I am you. YOU ARE ME.
„
~ Void Steve comparing Sabre's state to that of his current one.
“
This is it, Sabre, your final battle. THIS IS THE END OF YOU.
„
~ Void Steve before he critically damages Sabre and begins to kill him.
“
I must thank you and Time Steve over there. I do adore my original form. But.. OH, YES. I sense it; the Blue Crystal shard, it's still on you. Maybe I should take it back? I am its rightful owner, after all. I'll just take it from you.. when it falls off of you. Goodbye, Sabre. The end of everything.
„
~ Void Steve complementing himself and his physical appearance after nearly killing Sabre before demanding Sabre to hand over the Blue Crystal shard to him, and instead resorting to killing Sabre and taking it from his corpse instead.
“
Oh, welcome back MY personal Darkness, my shadow, my creation.
„
~ Void Steve sarcastically welcoming Shadow Sabre into the World Below, moments before Shadow Sabre claims his independence from Void and strikes him down with the lightning from the Shadow Sword, killing him for the second and final time.
Trivia
Unlike his original incarnation, Void Steve had an explicit explanation as to why he became evil, whereas his original incarnation's source of villainy remains unexplained and seemingly spawned from nowhere.
Although his kill count is incalculable, Void Steve has been shown to have directly killed twenty people onscreen.
A common criticism towards Void Steve's character following Steve Legends is the shift in his motivation from Rainbow Quest, going from wanting to conquer the world and bring everyone together as "one" under the Darkness, whereas in Steve Legends, he wanted to infect the world with Darkness and revert it to nothing, much like the Darkness' goals in Rainbow Quest. It can be assumed that Void's motivations shifted between the two series' as he became less of a puppet for the First Curse and gained his own goals of a more noble motivation.
