Mario is one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of the 2011 Australian adult-animated sitcom web series SMG4.
He is an idiotic, selfish yet protective plumber and the universe's avatar who goes in several wacky adventures with SMG4 Gang, often with SMG4, Luigi, and/or Meggy. Mario, despite sometimes sociopathic, has saved his world and friends many times from threats like the T-Pose Apocalypse, an Anime Crisis, a frustrated rival of SMG4, a perfectionist Artificial SMG-wannabe, and even a psychopatic TV producer. He's also the formerly archenemy of SMG3 and Lawyer Kong, the second archenemy of Mr. Puzzles and the creator and formerly right-hand of Marty.
The voice clips he uses are primarily provided by Charles Martinet. His singing voice is provided by David Phillips. In the Spanish dubs, his lines are provided by Carlos Berenguer.

Profile[]
Mario is often portrayed as a dumb and morbidly obese spaghetti addict. While he seems to think he is popular and has lots of swag (which is somewhat true as he appears to have a fan club), Mario is, in reality, an attention-hogging streaker who has been arrested several times. In addition, Mario has been depicted as a pervert, zoophile, prostitute, drug addict, and drunkard, though he long abandoned these traits.
Because most of the traits mentioned earlier are played for comedy, Mario is the protagonist of many bloopers. While he can act somewhat bipolar and is usually enraged by the slightest things, Mario is often cheerful to the point of annoyance. Much like SMG4, he is a former archenemy of SMG3.
He is the avatar of his universe, meaning that if he dies, then his universe goes with him.
Origin[]
Mario has two major backstories that are featured in their episodes. However, the older backstory was retconned as the years gone.
According to The (TOTALLY ACCURATE) Documentary of Mario, his origin was "revealed", he was born in 1928 (though this might be a joke since if Mario were born at that time, he would be 96 years old today). His unknown father was disgusted with Mario's appearance and tried to kill him with a combat knife to "prevent him from laying eggs." This incident, which was accidentally photographed by his mother or a doctor for his celebration card, where he was mistaken for a girl. However, because they did not like him, his parents abandoned him in an alley and then sped off, but they ended up accidentally crashing and dying. Likely because of this treatment, he grew up without any parental love, resulting in his stupidity and selfishness.
Two years later, Mario was found and taken to an orphanage, where he met Luigi and formed a bond with him. However, he was jealous of his brother for outdoing him in his activities and often mistreated him.
When Mario and Luigi started attending high school, Mario was a terrible student but was still popular then. He, however, tended to dance in the shower, and it was also here where his spaghetti addiction started. At some point, he began taking drugs. These led to horrible consequences, and Mario started acting completely insane and weird, such as trashing an office and speaking in German despite being Italian, spooking his classmates in a pool, dancing on the roof, and finally burning the school down to the ground, much to the principal's frustration. Because of that, Mario's reputation was down the drain, and it would take 2 to 3 years before he recovered.
Afterward, Mario and Luigi searched for a job. They joined The Plumber Academy for Idiots, and though Mario did not graduate because he constantly missed classes, he still learned enough to get the job. A few years later, he was in called by Princess Peach to help clean up her castle. He met Bowser for the first time and angered the Koopa King by making him drop his sandwich. Since then, Mario has visited the castle more often (though his antics resulted in Toad, one of the castle’s retainers, becoming a miserable, whiny jerk). At some point, he also became Nintendo's mascot, but due to rumors about him retaking drugs, he was fired but retained his mascot status. This origin has been retconned from the series as the Genesis Arc retcons it for a new backstory.
As revealed in SMG4: SMG4's Origins, Mario was once a ordinary intelligent plumber who was heroic and protective of Peach and the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser. After the events of Super Mario 64, Mario and Peach, who still loved each other at the time, witnessed SMG4's Guardian Pod crash-landed in the Kingdom. They went over to inspect the Guardian Pod. Mario attempted to come closer to the Guardian Pod until it zapped him, turning him into a r****ded glitchy parody of himself. Mario proceeded to get naked and threw the princess far into the sky, causing her to get furious with the plumber and thus becoming a nagging, bossy, and selfish "friend" of his, ending their relationship. SMG4, seeing this, proceeded to record Mario and post it online. This act restored Mario’s sanity but still left him quite stupid. SMG4 then realized his potential by recording Mario’s antics; from then on they became an iconic duo. One day, while SMG4 was filming Mario and Bowser spinning, they witnessed the arrival of SMG3 in his own Guardian Pod. When SMG3 chased SMG4 for calling him stupid, Mario told the camera not to do drugs. They later dumped SMG4's Guardian Pod into the Dark Web and accepted everyone had already become mentally unstable due to the Guardian Pod's influence. Mario then offered SMG4 a room for him in Peach's Castle.
Appearance[]
Mario is extremely fat and wears a long-sleeved red shirt, blue overalls with yellow buttons, brown shoes, and gloves. He has a red cap, brown hair, a black moustache, and blue eyes. He is shorter than his younger brother Luigi.
Personality[]
Mario is selfish, lazy, and incredibly dumb, almost the complete opposite of the Nintendo canon. Mario is a major bother to everyone living in Princess Peach's Castle. He also needs attention: an example is when, during the events of YouTube Mario?!, he created the channel TheAwesomeMario to get SMG4's attention and surpass his level of popularity.
While Mario sometimes shows signs he cares for others like SMG4, Luigi, and Meggy, especially in more recent episodes, it is often overshadowed by how much of a jerk he can be. Despite this, Mario is mostly a good person, yet he has many flaws.
His biggest flaw is his lack of common sense. Mario, refuses to admit being stupid and claims to have an IQ of 200 (even though he doesn't). Although, he did not know how to put together nor work any number past ten until Baldi forcibly taught him math (even then, he still sucks at it) and had also forgotten how to type or how to count. This stupidity annoys almost all his friends (except Meggy, who finds it hilarious), especially SMG4 and Toad, who often mock or criticize him for his foolish decisions. He, however, is utterly unaware that his very existence antagonizes people's lives. Because of that, he ruined the Grand Mario Hotel, bankrupted Nintendo by using its money to buy spaghetti and drove people to the edge of insanity like Enzo, for example.
Mario is also very short-tempered. He is also a sore loser and can be very demanding and also rude. He can get annoyed quickly and constantly lashes out at people (including Luigi) when he reaches his breaking point, like when in R****ded64: We're going on a Luigi hunt, when Luigi ran over his spaghetti plate, he hunted him down and tortured him for not owing him money, angrily ignoring Luigi’s pleas that he did not have the money.
